Same here, thought about buying it but had a feeling that one would be a freebie.

Some nice Vita sales coming also, only disappointment for me is that I kinda hope Little King Story would go on sale. I want to try it but the mixed reactions to it have me not wanting to dropm 40 on it.

psyched about Sine Mora going on sale, had my fingers crossed. And couldn't have asked for a better PS+ game than Disgaea 3, which was my #1 wanted Vita game currently.
Great month for Vita owners. You'll never have to buy a game with the PS+ sub.
i read an interesting article (maybe on destructoid, can't remember) that was basically talking about ps+ and just this concept -- that basically the way we consume media is changing, for example with many people now just using Netflix Watch It Now / Amazon Instant, etc. and that the author thought Sony was onto something with PS+ --- specifically, perhaps with the PS4 introduce a second tier where there's a large rotating list of games that can be played much like Netflix does it. You never really 'buy' games, but there are always a ton at your fingertips.

It's a brilliant idea. Total conjecture at this point, but... I think it could be a huge success if done right.

Spec Ops is an amazing game. The game play is mediocre military shooter but it really is so much more with the narrative. If you really pay attention to what they are doing with it and think outside of the box, it can leave a great lasting impression.

tomorrow when store updates
The 3 bonus psn months ends tonight right? I won't be able to get it until then.
Yes I believe so. The dumb thing is they're down for maintenance right now anyway so you can't buy it regardless until tonight.
Yes it does count. If you bought a year of PS+ that should be all you need to get the $10 back in April.
It only counts if you buy it from the PSN store according to what Morgan said in the comments section of today's PS+ update. If you buy a PS+ card from a store and redeem it, then it does not. If you buy a $50 PSN card and use it to buy a year of PS+ from the PSN store, then yes, that would count because you spent $50 in the store.
This March update for Plus is awesome. Glad I installed a 1 TB HDD in my PS3.
I thought the PS3 could not read 1 TB HDD. Time to find one at a good price, well 2 one for my PC too.

The lack of bitching on the blog and here is refreshing! Everyone's so happy!

Inexplicably, after the sale tomorrow, I'll have a fairly complete digital collection on the vita. Well played, Sony.
I have Joe Danger 1 & 2 on Xbox, but the others I don't have, so yeah! I wish I had a Vita... some day.
Doesn't Joe Danger 2 have a bunch of extra content on PS3 (compared to Xbox)? If so, that might be worth something to you.
I thought the PS3 could not read 1 TB HDD. Time to find one at a good price, well 2 one for my PC too.
I think the issue is finding one that will physically fit into the slot.

EDIT: This was not intended to be an innuendo, so please don't turn this comment into a part of your CAG signature.

Instasiged! ;)
I thought the PS3 could not read 1 TB HDD. Time to find one at a good price, well 2 one for my PC too.
The one I bought that did fit was this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152291

I bought when it was on sale for $69.99 and it came with an enclosure. It was a bitch to download, install, freezing, download, install for about a week or so, but it was worth it. I am using about 600GB right now.
Did anyone pickup unit 13? I think my limited game time will be filled with mlb vita (not ps3, takes too much time to play a game there) and I've hesitated.
I have the game on cartridge. I have to say it's a pretty great game. There isn't really a story but I've really enjoyed it. The missions are objectives based, and it's a fun 3rd person shooter. For $13 it's worth it.
Whoa, that's a generous discount on dokuro. Cheaper than any of us assumed. Wonder why they did it that way. Now, I'll most likely pick it up.
Yeah, not sure what's up with that. I was thinking maybe it was a typo, but if not than that's great for those that didn't buy it at 50% off a couple months ago. It's a great puzzle game, one of my favorite Vita games so far.

Good point.

New item for my wishlist. Thanks for the info!

Great month, the only one I have is Joe Danger 2, which I got for free on XBLA so I'll gladly take it for free again.

Also, bravo to Frisky for nailing Spec Ops, as well as Disgaea and The Cave. That's impressive.

It makes me wonder what the reaction would have been if these games were released on a week to week basis...my guess is that Disgaea and Spec Ops would have received quite a bit of acclaim, The Cave would have been mixed (some grateful that it's such a recent release, others unwilling to accept any sort of "indie drivel") and Joe Danger 2 and Tekken 6 would have been shit on ("We only get one of the same games from EU, and it's the worst one!" and "Europe gets the very recent DOA5 and all we get is a fuckin' 3-year old PSP game!!!")

Geez. I'm finally going to enter the "I'm not buying anything ever again" Sony club.

I just bought Disgaea 3, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter x Tekken, and Blaz Blue for the Vita last week at full price. I mean... I'm grateful for PS+, but fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Man as a PS3 & Vita owner PS Plus is insane! I'm hoping this carries over to the PS4, and if the next xbox doesn't follow suit I might just stick with PS next gen. Anyway, Patchwork Heroes is a favorite game of mine...it's just plain fun. It actually has a fun story as well. Great great game. Glad to have it digitally. Looking forward to Joe Danger and The Cave as well.

Trying to decide what to grab from the sale as well. I think I might bite on Street Fighter X Tekken now. Maybe Sumioni and Dokuro as well. As usual too many games and not enough time to play them :)

100% agreed. I started with a 360 this generation, but at this point I don't see any way I would buy an Xbox720 over the PS4, Sony has won my allegiances with PS+.

NOOOOOOO!!!! I have been avoiding Disgaea since I spent 200+ hours on 2. Now I have no choice but to pick it up... there goes the rest of my gaming year. :(

Wow, PSN is killing it this month.

Super stoked about Joe Danger 2 since I loved the first one. Also, getting The Cave is pretty sweet. Not sure about getting Disgaea 3 since I have the PS3 copy still unplayed.

As for the sale, I'm definitely picking up Orgarhythm and Sumioni. Might pick up Knytt Underground and Pure Chess. Also, free Patapon? Sweeet, I've had the second one for awhile and have been meaning to buy the first one. Wild Arms was one of the first PS1 classics I ever bought, great game.

And EVERYONE should get Dokuro.

^Did you end up platting Dokuro? Sorry, I could just look up on your gamercard, but I'm lazy.

Unrelated, I was under the assumption that Spec Ops was an FPS, but I guess it's a third-person shooter. That makes me WAY more interested in it now! :)

He did, though I have no clue why he didn't get into Ragnarok Odyssey.

Yeah, I loved it.

I think I'll probably download Disgaea 3 just cause the platinum image is so cool.

The Cave for free so soon after release? good job Sony! that just made me want buy another year of ps+

Spec Ops, Disgaea 3 and Joe Danger 2 are all good games as well, looking forward to play all of them
...Sony has won my allegiances with PS+.
I agree completely. Spec Ops, Joe Danger 2, and The Cave are all excellent choices that I'm looking forward to.
Viva la PS+!:D

Spec ops was defintiely different from the typical shooter. Shit got weird, but in a good way.

Joe Danger and The Cave will go nicely in the backlog of free/heavily discounted plus games.

Good thing I added another year along witht he free 3 months. It will take me the 2 years I now have left on my sub just to get through the games I already have. Not even counting what we will get in the future.
Free copy of the Cave is a slap in the face for some but a welcome slap. Loved the demo and will enjoy this game.
how in the hell is a free game a slap in the face to anyone? if you already bought it, someone wanted it at an earlier date at the price they paid. by that logic, every sale in the world is a slap in the face to someone.

also - when they release old games on ps+, people complain they're old. when they release new games on ps+, people complain they just bought them. they can't win.

Looks like there's a specific article about this week's Vita Anniversary sales with more deal news:

Going to grab Dokuro and Sumoni.

Disgaea 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. Platinumed it on both Vita and Ps3. I doesnt rank above the original Disgaea, but it is an amazing game. Wacky story, great characters, amazing depth, funny, charming, and an amazing value. It may be a little daunting at first to someone who isnt familiar with the series, or other tactical rpg games, but it allows you to go at your own pace and learn as you go.

wow March is awesome already, wish Disgaea 3 and Tekken 6 were for PS3 as well but definitely not complaining
Only thing I lack is Spec Ops (surprised this was indeed the game), anyone think it's actually worth downloading?.
Gunplay is functional and brutal at times. The challenge is fairly robust even on medium once you enter the second half of the game. Its the non-gameplay factors like the setting, mood, story, voice acting, etc. that are the exceptional aspects of the game. It is linear and each level features slightly hidden intel items which provide an interesting audio file than gives some additional background information to the story. I got 80% of them without following a guide, you can replay any chapter on any lower difficulty to pick up any of the ones you missed. It's 6-8 hours depending on which difficulty you play on.

I would HIGHLY recommend playing without a guide to minimize spoilers, blind is the way to experience this game. With it being free on PS+ a bonus is you might actually find some people to play with in the multiplayer for a short period of time after it is unlocked. I don't know what it's like on consoles but on the PC the multiplayer is DEAD.

Enjoyed the demo of Joe Danger 1, but never could bring myself to buy the game so I will definitely download JD 2.
Any word on how long the vita sale goes on for? I'm hoping p4g goes on sale in week 3 haha
Not very likely. P4G is one of the best games on the Vita.

Already played Spec Ops through a gamefly free trial, but might replay it to get some aditional trophies. Excited for Joe Danger 2, as I like the demo but never bought it. The Cave is made by Doub;e Fine, and that's really the only motivation to play I need. No vita or PSP, but I'll redeem them on PS3 anyway. At this rate I'll have quite the backlog of games for the Vita when I inevitably pick one up (hurry up with that dang price drop Sony!). This is definitely a lot better than the last two months, and I'm glad we got the monthly update back:)
Great month, the only one I have is Joe Danger 2, which I got for free on XBLA so I'll gladly take it for free again.

Also, bravo to Frisky for nailing Spec Ops, as well as Disgaea and The Cave. That's impressive.
I'm surprised at the Tekken 6 pick since nobody expected it to be a PSP fighter for the Vita.
I think the issue is finding one that will physically fit into the slot.

EDIT: This was not intended to be an innuendo, so please don't turn this comment into a part of your CAG signature.
My HDD is a 1 TB, so it wasn't hard at all. There are multiple compatible drives on Newegg.
Of course a PS+ card wouldn't work since you're not actually spending PSN money on it.
Why do you think the MLB12 Vita sale may end on March 12? If they are doing "new deals each week" wouldn't it end on 3/5 when the next set of deals come out? I guess we may know more details later today, but if someone is on the fence, they may want to decide soon just in case...
Because the list of PS+ items expiring this week included none of the Vita Anniversary games, so it seems like they'll stay on sale for at least another week. They may just be doing three weeks of deals that will last three weeks each.
so the sale on the PS Vita anniversary games and the Gamers Choice winners end with tomorrow's psn update correct? I want to buy GTA San Andreas and a couple of other games but the store is under maintenance right now and it won't let me sign in.
Just the Gamer's Choice Award winners are ending tomorrow from what I've seen.

Edit: Looks like the new article for this week's Vita Anniversary sale says it's ending this week, so I guess they're just one week sales.

Someone asked earlier and I didn't see an answer: If you have a PS3 or a PSP and no vita, can you still get the PS One Classic (Wild Arms) for free with PS+?

It was me asking (maybe others too). From what I can tell on the Blog it says "Exclusive to the Vita store". So it seems were out of luck, but I'm hopeful anyway.
