SFxT is only worth $20 if you like fighting games with a lot of characters and can handle semi awkward controls. I've had a lot of fun with it. I can't hang online at all, like not even a little bit. Have yet to win a match.
Yeah, this is much better over ad-hoc with a friend of the same skill level to start out. Going online has only been humiliation and destruction.
Sine Mora worth $5 for the Vita? The last bullet-hell game I played was Ikaruga.
absolutely positively. i can't get enough of it (just finally got a clean stage run on arcade hard (s++!) about a minute ago, and i'm psyched).

fun for casual gamers on normal, and absolutely provides a solid yet ultimately fair challenge for the hardcore. insane is absolutely insane.

so it looks like i'm at $27.76 since the 26th.
i guess that means it's worth picking up rayman and asphalt to put me over the top, since i do want both. i hate picking up all these games this month knowing some will likely be freebies later, but oh well. i suppose i can wait till the last minute to see if there are any sales next week... (are there generally sales every week, or just lately?)

i seriously don't understand the complaints about the vita library. i mean, yea, other systems do have 'more' games, but even with the current library i already have a massive backlog and enough games to keep me busy for a long time (and i put a lot of time on my vita). only going to get worse with disgaea 3, lol. and that's not even getting into the ps1/psp libraries on vita, which essentially give it a huge library.

i suppose to be fair, i wish there were more srpgs and rpgs w/ vita trophies, but even as it is i can't see ever running out of games i want to play.

I dont know where to post this but this is a Sony thread. Has anyone gotten their order to ship from AT&T for the 32GB memory card? Im puzzled as to whether I should be getting my money back and cancelling or expecting an order.

The only thing I don't like about Knytt is that some sections require precise jumping but the controls (especially as the ball) aren't precise at all. That gets pretty frustrating. With that said, I'm really liking it so far and I have a feeling this game is going to take me forever to beat as I'm tryin to stay away from guides as far as filling out the map and getting items goes.

Is God of War coming to psn tomorrow?
On the Blog (Think on The Drop) they said it was not going to be a day 1 digital release. I would guess though it will show up next week or before the end of the month.
If i have Rayman Origins for PS3, is the Vita one much different?
They're basically identical but tapping the screen to collect Lums/pop enemies is 10x more fun, not to mention easier.
The added Relic-hunting content can be enjoyable if you're into hidden object games, especially when they're tough to spot.

Hey, I hope this is the right place to ask this. I think it was mentioned before somewhere in this thread, but I have no idea how many pages back.

The PSN deal going on with the spend 50 get 10 dollars back. I'm was going to purchase a couple of games and the total is 49.98, will that make the cut? Or is the few cents off thing just for PS+ subscriptions. I just wanted to make sure before I made the purchase.

You still have a couple weeks to pick up something else. If you don't by the last week, follow Lupe's advice, buy a discount avatar thing and you should be fine.

I haven't touched my PS3 copy. I wonder if getting it for the Vita would finally get me to play the game.

I am still torn on Sumioni, I guess I'll mull it over tonight and make my decision early tomorrow. It looks cool and I like the controls, but some of the negative reviews that mentioned how repetitive it is are really concerning to me.

I played it on the vita and finished it. PS3 one never felt like touching. It's the best platformer game to have come out in the last few years.

You should get into the :ps3:, especially if you have some friends over, it's the best local co op + friendly competitive game I have played in years.

I was wondering the same thing, I noticed that the charge on my card was gone and no email since it was said it was going to the warehouse. I called AT&t last night and the lady said its oos and they will ship it when it becomes available..
Does anyone know how long Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is going to be on sale for $29.99?
I'm seeing a bunch of forum threads on google linking to this article saying it lasts until 4/2, but I'm not seeing a more official source for it. The EDF Facebook page just says "for a limited time" like that helps anybody.

The title says Ubisoft sale but when I load the first page and hit Ctrl + F and type in "Ubi" nothing comes up. This is why the PS3 deals page is not as good as the XBL one. Why even list "Ubisoft sale" if you're not going to show it specifically? I don't know what games they make.

Random question: does anyone have an opinion of the Move-enabled port of Mad Dog Mcree? Is it as crappy as the PC version evidently was or better?

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/03/12/gungho-bringing-six-more-psone-imports-to-north-america/
As promised, GungHo is bringing over a new batch of PSone Imports for your enjoyment today! Just like last time, I’d like to chat about these lovely games and what you can expect out of them.

Sentimental Graffiti

8550447090_66fbe30e22_m.jpg

This classic dating simulation was first released in the late nineties. It was popular enough to spawn various sequels, an anime series, and even a radio drama! The story revolves around a protagonist who was constantly moving about during his childhood, so he never had time to form deeper relationships with those around him. He receives a much unexpected letter from a mysterious paramour which simply states, “I want to see you.” He’s got it narrowed down to one of the 12 special women he met in his younger days, and it’s up to the player to decide how this tale ends…

Players control our hero by making use of his incredibly tight schedule. You’ve only got so much time to spend with these ladies, so you have to make it count! Carefully plan out each day by studying your calendar and preparing potentially romantic encounters with the 12 candidates. If you get it right, you might just figure out where that mysterious letter came from…

The game is very text heavy, but there’s a lot of great art and charming event scenes to enjoy. If you are a fan of visual novels, this is one you won’t want to pass up.

First Queen IV

8550447442_f0b6725785_m.jpg

First Queen is a classic RTS/RPG franchise that first introduced the “Gocha-kyara” (tons of characters) battle system. Players control several units by issuing turn based orders then watching the attacks unfold in real time. While the game starts with just a handful of units, your army will grow as your foes bend the knee or you seek out additional recruits via side missions. The ultimate goal is of course to unite (conquer) the entire area and ultimately bring peace to the land. Remember, when you play the game First Queen IV, you win or you die.

While the story contains a lot of Japanese text, the battle controls are pretty straightforward, and you should have little trouble conquering the world with your merry band!

Trump Shiyouyo! Fukkoku-ban

8549348365_f85aa53fc9_m.jpg

This classic card game pits players against a cast of cute, colorful animals in a bevy of classic card games including: Shichi-narabe (a variation of Sevens), Daifugou (Grand Millionaire), Page One, Dobon, Seven Bridge, Speed, Baba-nuki (Old Maid), Poker, Blackjack, and Shinkei-suijyaku (Concentration).

The game is light on text, and the only time you really need to be able to read Japanese is when you want to tweak the rules of the individual games. With a few quick Google searches, a player can easily find the rules to these classic card games as well as how they would be written in Japanese. Once in game, everything is fairly simple to understand.

Oz no Mahoutsukai ~Another World~ RungRung

8550447812_45e82db2ed_m.jpg

This whimsical take on The Wizard of Oz features some incredibly nostalgic-looking, fully voiced CG cutscenes, lovely music, and about the cutest portrayal of the Tin Man I have ever seen! The classic tale of the little girl from Kansas who rode a tornado to infamy has been adapted to an almost absurd degree – with various musicals, movies, and video games. This particular adaptation is oozing with a quirky charm that’s sure to warm your heart.

Players take on the role of Dorothy as she (and her little dog too!) travels about the Land of Oz performing various tasks and collecting magical items. Her goal is to help out her new friends, and of course get back home (after all, there’s no place like home).

This game is fairly text-heavy, but its cuteness is universal!

Mahjong Uranai Fortuna ~Tsuki no Megami Tachi~

8550447578_96c4defbc5_m.jpg

Affect’s Mahjong Uranai Fortuna ~Tsuki no Megami Tachi~ provides a rather delightful twist to the time-honored classic Chinese game, Mahjong. Players choose 3 of the 6 fortune-telling beauties to compete against in this ancient poker-like, tile-based game of luck and strategy. As you defeat opponents, you can unlock special event photos that can later be viewed at the image gallery.
Luckily for you, these ladies don’t just play a mean game of Mahjong. Whenever you wish, you can enter “Fortune-telling Mode” and have a nice little horoscope prepared. Be warned, once you see your future, it can’t be unseen!

The fortune-telling will of course require significant Japanese knowledge to understand, but the classic game of Mahjong can easily be learned over the internet. Finally, the image gallery needs no translation.

Favorite Dear ~Enkan no Monogatari~

8549348449_f5f373ee35_m.jpg

Japanese RPGs are common enough, and the dating simulation/virtual novel genre is no stranger to the west. It is, however, quite rare to see the two genres so delightfully melded into a beautiful, character-driven gaming experience. For the first time (officially), the Favorite Dear series hits the US with its third installment – don’t worry, the stories aren’t exactly sequential, so you won’t have missed anything important.

Players must control their team of warriors in battle against various monsters as they bring peace to the land, but off the battlefield, the main objective is to promote and maintain harmony in the group by visiting with allies. Once you select your date and location, you are treated to an event scene where you need to make the right choices to keep everyone happy. People who like you tend to fight harder, right?! Before you head back to the battlefield, make sure you outfit your soldiers with the best equipment possible so you can smash your foes to bits!

Favorite Dear ~Enkan no Monogatari~ has a combination of anime event graphics and isometric, sprite-based battle sequences. Like any RPG, it’s very text heavy, so make sure to bring your Berlitz Japanese/English dictionary with you when you want to take Tia out for a walk about town!

These PSone Classics are just $5.99 apiece, so head on down to your local PlayStation Store and pick them up later today! We here at GungHo Online Entertainment America hope you enjoy the chance to finally get your hands on these classic imports, because we may have a few more up our sleeves – WINK!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has been updated for the online play stuff. You can play the first level with up for three other players for free, but you have to pay for online access to the rest. I guess that means that you'll be able to play that first level over and over again.

I just bought this yesterday and I am enjoying it so far. I beat it three times already getting two of the six endings. The different paths are very challenging and make the game have some replay value. For just over $7 I thought it was worth it.

I also bought Orgarythm and that game is fun and interesting. I don't think I have ever played anything like it before. I only played the tutorial and level one but I like it so far. I hope I can get the timing down for the triple-tap. I still haven't master it yet. I took me a while to beat that tutorial. So far I am happy with both purchases.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD - $27.99 PSN - $19.59 PS+
I want to know this too.
When do you get the free $10 back for $50 spent? Is it right away? Or, do you have to wait?
From the OP:
Storewide Promo - For every $50 ($49.99 works) that you spend in any part of the PS Store that uses the PSN wallet for purchases from February 26 at 12:01 AM PST to March 31 at 11:59 PM PST, you'll get $10 back for every $50 spent around April 12, 2013. Meaning if you spend $100, you'll get $20 back and so on above that.

Those PSone RPGs are all untranslated right? The price is certainly cheap, but does anyone actually buy a game where they don't understand anything that's happening?

I realize not everyone follows the thread on a daily basis, but it is getting kind of tiring seeing the same basic questions being asked over and over about sales, plus games, and other stuff that is either available in the OP or could easily be googled.

Any word on Prince of Persia: Rival Swords or Assassin's Creed Bloodlines? (I'd be getting either for the vita). I am a fan of both series, but don't know how the experiences of these games compare with the experiences I have had with my console games. I know the graphics won't be as good, but how is the gameplay?

Thanks.
Jesus there is no pleasing people.

When Frisky doesn't update the title before the sales, he gets ripped for not updating it in a timely manner and people complain that there is a need for more PSN threads.

When he does update the title before the sale, he gets ripped for "not specifically showing the sale" which isn't even live yet.
I realize not everyone follows the thread on a daily basis, but it is getting kind of tiring seeing the same basic questions being asked over and over about sales, plus games, and other stuff that is either available in the OP or could easily be googled.
Join the club. The amount of handholding required on the internet is unbearable sometimes. I'll admit that I ask about recommendations about games a lot, which I'm sure some people don't like I guess.

Yeah, none of those imports look appealing since I can't read Japanese. I'll pass this time on the imports. If they bring more shmups, platformers, and fighters I'll be interested.

I agree on all accounts, but I find as though getting all hot and bothered about it isn't as easy as just pointing people in the right direction (within reason, of course; if it's blatantly mentioned in the OP, I don't see why they should be asking in the first place).

All that said, I don't feel as though I show my appreciation to Frisky for all his efforts enough. Thanks a million for the thread and the immensely helpful updates, Frisky. Your work is truly the work of saints. :bouncy:

i think game recommendations are a really important part of this thread, especially since we're often talking about psn games that often don't get the amount of attention by reviewers that bluray games do -- not to mention often appeal to more niche tastes due to 'experimental' gameplay.
Great price on Outland,I'll be picking that up.
Indeed. It's been free for PS+ and on sale plenty of times, but if anyone has somehow still missed it, I'd definitely recommend picking it up.

As for the sales ending today, I did buy Sumioni. There's definitely some potential for regret, so I guess I'll find out. And based on the discussion here the other day about Big Sky Infinity, as well as Frisky's video, I decided to re-try the demo. I still can't say that I "loved" it, but I enjoyed it much more than I did the first time. I decided to buy Big Sky instead of Sine Mora, which I already own on the 360.

This week Rayman (Vita) and I Am Alive are both definite buys.
