They are reboxing Street Fighter V in January and calling it Arcade Edition. It's not known exactly what will be in it, but presumably will have Season 1 and 2 on it at least. Maybe some more costume extras also. It would effectively be the exact same thing as buying the Digital Deluxe right now.

This is correct, if you want all the current character dlc + costumes for pre-ordering I would just get the Arcade Edition.

If you do decide to opt out and buy the SFV vanilla you will receive a free upgrade to Arcade Edition but you won't get the season 1 and season 2 character pass.

Edit: I highly recommend buying the Arcade Edition, everyone else had a whole year to gain points for characters.

PSN store has the Digital Deluxe on sale for $40 right now in the flash sale. That gives him the standard game, Season 1 and 2, and the Arcade update in January. That's the same price as the MSRP of January's Arcade Edition. So other than some extra costumes that you might get by preordering the Arcade Edition, I think it's all the same.

Started it yesterday and beat the first episode, which was really good for the topic it's covering. Excited to see it through and play the bonus episode when that's out early next year.

If you have any desire to play this game more than a few weeks, I think that's a mistake. You have to catch up on two years worth of DLC. If you want it, you'll have to pay for it. It'll be difficult to earn it all at this point. Spend up the $40 for the Deluxe or the Arcade Edition in January. Earning DLC was a good way to go for those that played semi regularly starting from back in 2016.

But the free upgrade will give the 12 remaining chars from season 1 and 2.If I'm correct the $40 version gives that too plus some skins which I'm not interested but maybe that'll change once I've invested time in the online.Guess I will think this through and decide in a few days.

The update in January will give you the new Arcade mode, the updated UI, the new V-Triggers, and any other rebalances that happen. It's not giving you the characters, stages and costumes. You'll have to buy them or earn them. Earning them takes time. At first money will flow, but then it'll slow down and you'll have to play a lot online to keep getting it. If you waste that easy in game money on the existing DLC, you won't have anything for the 2018 DLC. If you decide later to buy the DLC, you'll either have to wait for a sale on just the season passes, or pay more money in the end to get them.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice won awards for Best Game for Impact and Best Audio Design. The correct choices for those awards. Melina Juergens won Best Performance, which is great for a non-actress that was the video editor for the game.

I played it without knowing anything about the game and it was enjoyable.
 
The From trailer is definitely an explicit reference to Shadow Tower (PSX and PS2 series), a spiritual ancestor of Demon's Souls, itself a spiritual descendant of King's Field. So, another Kinshadsoulsborne entry.

Considering Kojima has so far made literally perfect games on Playstation, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3, I think he's earned some amount of excitement over his work? Although I honestly haven't seen much excitement over Death Stranding, mostly just cynical comments from people expressing how much better they think they are than anyone excited for the game.

kojima really hasnt made a great game since the ps2 and im a mgs fanboy. peace walker has been his only solid game since snake eater launched. the rest have had major issues in one way or another. i have really low expectations for whatever this game is, it already looks incredibly stupid in my eyes.

 
It’s disappointing that there’s no conference for PSX this weekend. I always enjoyed them. They should have saved their PGW announcements for PSX.

I had no idea they weren't doing a conference.. I was thinking last night "why are you not saving this for PSX?" I guess it makes sense as to why Death Stranding and Dreams were shown there as well as the Andrew House swan song. I thought the From Software teaser was a setup for the PSX announcement. Oh well, I guess it makes more sense to do it this way since Sony probably doesn't want to be absent from the game awards to save stuff for their show.. but at the same time they got snubbed pretty hard last night as well..

There is some sort of address tonight at 8pm PST / 11pm EST. Sony has already stated that this is not a conference and there won’t be really any pomp and circumstance. I guess we’ll see.
 
Yeah I have no idea why everyone is jumping to the conclusion of bloodborne 2. Bloodborne has nothing to do with shadows.
 
For those of you who have PSVR, have any of you gone out and purchases shorter cables to connect it to the PS4? I was just reviewing the cables yesterday and they seemed quite long
