Frisky, I have so little joy in my life and you ask these people to stop their pointless argument.

Well, back on topic, with this month's offering, I wonder if PS+ is worth the money. Especially when I consider that a physical copy of a game might be better than digital. Any one else have thoughts about this?
To me digital is worth more than physical. I can play on two systems with one license and I don't have to change disks. I play multiple games at the same time and switching disks would drive me nuts.

I don't really play games online except Destiny but $45 dollars for me for PS+ is not a big deal. I spend that on a single meal sometimes.

Is it safe to say that Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted: LL will both be $20 on psn with ps+ 1 week from now?  That seems to be the established BF price among retail stores at least.

(getting antsy since I've been saving a 20% code since June for this sale)

Do people just not play games online or something?
Honestly not really. I'd say it's like 90% gaming alone vs 10% online for me. Only time I play multiplayer is when my friends want to or like twice a year when the urge hits me to play some random shooter death match.

I'm the same way. I get enough of people at work so I'd really rather not deal with them too often during my free time.

For me I think it kinda just boils down to the fact that the vast majority of games I am even interested in don't have multiplayer anyway. I'm not really opposed to it or anything, especially since I've spent thousands of hours playing MMOs (mostly WoW but plenty of others as well.) But there are a lot of games out there I want to play and a lot of those happen to be games you play alone.

I generally only play Titanfall 2 and now Cod WW2 online with playing Black OPs 3 before that. I really don't mess with mutli player as much. Also Killing Floor 2 for a bit.

I've also played quite a few MMOs with WoW being my most played as well. I did play them mostly solo doing only PvE though. I rarely did dungeons and have never been on a raid. Now with shooters I am pretty much TDM or DM only. I do enjoy some Domination in Battlefield but I prefer modes where little to no communication is needed. :D

I have to imagine that will happen. It's the only thing preventing me from buying them on Best Buy's pre-BF sale today.

Doesn’t shadow of mordor game of the year edition have all dlc and season pass included? I don’ get why the season pass add on is 9.99 when the goty edition is cheaper.

Maybe I'm misremembering things, but I feel pretty certain digital sales don't come close to retail on BF. It might get within $5 on a few games but I feel there's always at least a $10 difference. But I know there are people here who keep spreadsheets for this type of thing so maybe they can provide some historical data.

Yeah I'm all digital and they are never the same. Usually $5-$10 difference like you stated. Even with the difference I buy the digital versions. If people are expecting the same prices as retail they will be disappointed.

This was the flash sale for Black Friday last year: https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/359598-psn-black-friday-flash-sale-ends-1129-11-am-et8-am-pt/

With the deals being advertised as up to 40% off I wouldn't bet on much. My PSN purchases are almost always 50% off at least, and usually more.

Just be aware the game save from the base version doesn't work in the GOTY version. So if you have dozens of hours in and don't want to lose your saves you probably want the season pass.

Finally got my 15% Off coupon from the Trials Reward Pass on Sony Rewards, which the email mentions that it expires on 12/31/18.

There are some other details on that stuff from the terms of use for the Rewards Passes:

Trophy Pass: Members will be rewarded with Sony Rewards points upon completion of earning specific amounts of trophies during PlayStation gameplay after the applicable member unlocks the Trophy Pass. Trophy requirements and points awarded can be found on the Passes Homepage. Each Member may earn the Trophy Pass up to twelve (12) times per year. The Trophy Pass will not be awarded retroactively, and will only include trophies that Members earn after the date the Member unlocks the Trophy Pass. The rewards for completing the Trophy passes vary. The reward for completing the Silver Trophy pass is 100 Sony Rewards points, for completing the Gold Trophy pass is 250 Sony Rewards and for completing the Platinum Trophy pass is 1,000 Sony Rewards. The Trophy Pass may take up to five (5) business days to be fulfilled. Members must unlock this pass. Subject to complete Sony Rewards Terms and Conditions. The Trophy pass is a limited time offer that can be modified or discontinued at any time by Sony.
If you missed the news earlier, Sony Rewards started a new thing called Rewards Passes, which are simple challenges of things to do on PSN that includes earning trophies for reward points or some other bonuses. There are separate passes for earning 10 platinums ($10, 1k points), 25 golds ($2.50, 250 points), and/or 100 silver trophies ($1, 100 points), so you can just activate them and play like normal to eventually earn the reward points whenever you hit those milestones. They're not retroactive, but there seems to be no expiration date and the ToS says they're repeatable up to 12 times in a year.

That’s awesome, I thought it was only gonna be a one time thing.

Yeah I was really curious how many times you could do the tasks since the page doesn't really mention they are repeatable. Really cool system if you enjoy trophies since it essentially rewards you for just doing what you do anyway.

Though I have been actively working towards the gold one because it will take me up to 1000 points, already had around 800 points without realizing it. Presumably from all the stuff I've been buying on PSN this year since I got a PS4.

Just curious how you managed to get that. Surely you would have already had a PS Plus trial, which is one of the four, and it isn’t retroactive.

So I guess I'm screwed out of the trial for Playstation Music if I'm already subscribed to Spotify Premium?
No, just log out and create a new Spotify acount to do the trial. Make sure to turn off the auto-renew and you can log out of the second account to go back to the original.

It is retroactive, which is the same for subscribing to three PSN services for at least one month.
