Does anyone know if dead island riptide DE is still active at all? Or wait next week for dying lying being on sale, possibly.

Which AAA first party games close down their servers a year after the game's release? When was the last time that happened? There isn't even online multiplayer, it's just online ranking system. I guess times are hard over at Sony. Pretty sad.

I played it months ago and rarely ever got photos or races sent to me. I imagine nobody was using the mode. You're not missing much by not having it available any more, in my opinion.

It's surprisingly decent for a licensed racer. Love the air stunts, and the AI can get pretty challenging on later levels. The voice acting is meh, and it's only split-screen multiplayer, but a good buy at $20.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, apparently the XB1 version runs better anyways than PS4, according to what I've seen (I think Digital Foundry covered it). I have the XB1 version and it is great.

Sounds about like 2 did. Split screen is fine by me, actually I'd prefer it over online if I had to pick one. Given everything else that's on sale though it might have to wait until next time but definitely think I'll grab it eventually.

 
All I got for Christmas was the games I bought myself on sale. I grabbed Assassin's Creed origins and NBA Live 18. But had I known a day or 2 later MLB The Show 17 would be on sale, I would have opted for that sports game instead, but it's no big deal. I'm still okay with my purchases and the money I saved.

Lol, Gravity Rush 2 isn't AAA. You need to play it. And the multiplayer component wasn't just a ranking system. You can send treasure hunts and race challenges to other players.

And again, nobody was using it, at least when I played it quite a while back. I can only imagine how few people use it now.

I always assume the game Frisky Business that I see on sale sometimes is just about going through different sales list and correlating everything for ungrateful bastards. Sort of like one of those cooking challenge games where you need to run around serving up games they need... and just when you think you're going to get a perfect score, one of your customers asks for a sale on Bloodborne DLC and you forget to serve him, so he gets angry and the whole game goes to shit.

Actually, I just looked at the game's page. It isn't like that at all. Unless the CAG ladies throw themselves at you for your work, Frisky. "Oh, Frisky, thank you for sorting by date. How ever can I thank you?"

Money is money. If nobody is playing the game, and even those that did barely used a feature, what's the point of spending money on the servers?

I mean, the few people complaining are literally the ones that want to play the game but haven't yet... which is why the game servers are getting shut down, because nobody was playing it.

I mean, sure, it's unfortunate... but at least it sounds like it's completely unimportant in this game and they patched it to get the stuff you need in other, easier, ways.

According to psprices, :vita: Valkyrie Revolution is cheapest it has been. Still too rich for my blood. 

The Asian physical release is already dirt cheap. At this price for digital, I might as well just import it.

Is it me or has this holiday season been amazing for both physical and digital sales on both Microsoft and Sony's ends? I wish Nintendo would do steeper discounts on their Switch digital titles though, but.... yeah.

Ah well. I love and hate CheapyD, Frisky, BlackBeard (Gamestop Spreadsheet!), and Bloomy (over on the Microsoft thread) for all their hard work. Hate because their hard work makes it more likely for my money to go from savings to expanding the backlog. :)

It's neat that Sony keeps this sale going over several weeks with old sale prices continuing, but it sure does make it frustrating and confusing for those who have already been paying attention to the sale in previous weeks.  They really should offer an option to sort by week on the site or have a "new this week" category.  Maybe they do and i'm missing it or it's not well featured.  Thanks to Frisky for his efforts here.

I seem to remember last year being really good too. Either last year or the year before, I felt like some of the digital sales were just as good as BF sales, which rarely happened before.

It's pretty great imo. Has a great set of characters, cool world building, and decent ramping complexity for a pretty simple sports game. Best part is that you are constantly trying to manage which team you free which essentially forces you to change your team up.

It's a visual novel with some moments where you play a ritual that is like American Gladiators' Power Ball game. I made a video a while back that should be a solid representation of how the game works:

Infamous Second Son is a must play. Killzone’s multiplayer was good but the campaign is meh. It was also a launch game so who knows how many people are still playing it.

If you’re looking for any input, Stories isn’t that great of a game. It was a free game for PS+ a while back. Gameplay is boring and repetitive. Story is kind of amateurish.
 
Stories is worth it for $0.79 just for the art and first couple of playthroughs. 

BUT if you want to get the platinum or see all the timelines, you're going to want to shoot yourself. Becomes extraordinarily repetitive.

Thanks CrepeNuts and Quagmilion for the input on Stories, even for $0.74 doesn't seem like it'll be worth it. I like a good challenge, just not one that'll make me crazy. kelo360 I definitely agree about Second Son being a must play. I put Killzone SF on the maybe list for the very reasons you mentioned. I'll pass on it too.

 
Ended up buying Infamous Second Son so I can eventually get the rest of the trophies and plat the game. May grab NBA Live since it's less than $10.

 
Frisky, you wrote 4.99 for volume which has vr in it but the vita version is the only one on sale. Ps4 version is still full price

I might get Second Son too just to finish and platinum the game. I missed out on it when it was free on PS+.

 
Bought both Gravity Rush games. I own the first on Vita but didn't play it much. I rather own them physical on PS4 but they are too rare and expensive for me to pass up both for just over $30 digitally.

Bought Hidden Agenda over BF and was thinking of playing with my family tonight. See that it’s like two hours. Does anyone who has played know if you can save like after an hour or something?

Not sure if my family is capable of sitting for two hours straight for a game. LOL.

Same here. Every time I see one of those massive lists typed up, I get nauseous to my stomach because I know I'm about to spend upwards of $100 on games I may or may not end up playing.

I'm still reviewing the list right now, but thanks for all the work, Friskeroonie! I'm definitely seeing Bloodborne, the Infamous games, Journey, Kona, Layers of Fear, Observer and Oxenfree in my future. Plus another 30 games from the previous lists. God damn it.

Just in case someone was thinking of Kingdom Hearts games, 1.5+2.5 Remix and 2.8 Prologue are ~$25 (~$20 w/ GCU) at Best Buy this week. It wasnt in the weekly BBY first post, but mentioned further down the thread.
