I started Don't Starve today and I know some people here hated it, but so far I think it's pretty cool. Of course I didn't survive one day in my first attempt, but I learned quickly. I'm up to day 6 currently, but need a better food supply soon. It's definitely not a game you'll want to look up anything about how to play it. That would ruin it. But do look at your screen. It's got stuff on it including important button presses.

I love Don't Starve. I need to get back to it, it's pretty intense once you're good at it and start thinking in seasons rather than days.

I played the single player at launch with a quick flip (back when kmart coupons were rad) and... enjoyed it, alright. It's worth $5 i think. But it's also skippable. If you like the franchise I'd say it's definitely worth the $5, it's never totally been my thing.

I can concur. Don't Starve is amazing and do not know why so many people hate on it. Only problem is that there technically is no objective of the game but to survive, but I think they solved that with Max's nightmare mode or whatever it was called. And having pig armies fight treants for you is definitely an experience.

At least this time it's not a swarm of baby wasps crawling into my room.

People don't like it because it's hard, slower paced, and has permadeath. I love it because it's hard, slower paced, and has permadeath. The game gives you nothing, it's all about figuring stuff out piece by piece, with only your past corpses to show for it. Can't get enough.

Hard to say. I only found the last couple levels and the boss fights of Giana Sisters really difficult, whereas I'm only halfway through Mutant Mudds and it's making me want to throw my controller. I guess Mudds might be slightly more difficult, but they play pretty differently so it might just be me being better at the sort of platformer Giana is.

it isn't a smoke detector is it? I never can figure out which one is beeping when that shit starts. I can change the batteries inevery one in the house and some shit will still beep. And I have never lived in a house that didn't have this happen to me at least once. Beeping smoke detectors are the bane of my existence.

No I know what that sounds like. It's not consistent either which is making it really hard to find. Though that sometimes I hear a Mario coin is pointing towards the insanity/stroke/tumor.

 
Any of you Vita Mutant Blob lovers not enjoy the original PS3 About A Blob game? Because I couldn't really get into that one, but I'm very tempted by the Vita one with all the extras. How similar are they?

About a Blob has more of a focus on puzzles while Mutant Blobs Attack focuses more on the platforming.

 
Anyone who doesn't already own hot shots for vita would be a fool to pass on it for that price. Amazing game for on the go. So good I might pick it up digitally because I got the physical pretty cheap and I need to be able to play it at a moment's notice (no, seriously)

Once again, Prophet Snakeybro is right on the money. I enjoyed the first one, though some of the collectibles seems near impossible and it put a ton of focus on the physics behind the platforming. The second one did away with that for the most part as far as I could tell. I'm not exactly sure why, it just felt like a much smoother and more enjoyable playthrough.

 
I caved and bought the Tales of the Mutant: Attack the Blob bundle. Lots of negativity for this weeks sales from outsiders/blog retards, but this was a pretty good sale this week I think.

 
I've never found a golf game i liked, but i picked up HSG because I've been playing the hell out of HS Tennis and loving it (at least, once i got a few stages in and found opponents that were actually aggressive and good). 

I don't know that i'll end up liking HSG though.  Something about those old traditional 'power meters' bores the crap out of me, and I'm guessing all golf games still have those.

still haven't picked up Sorcery Saga yet, but... probably.  I might play some Terraria first, but something tells me i'm not going to like it's platforming.

There are a variety of shot styles to choose from if you don't like the traditional meter.

It's a great game, but if you've never liked a golf game...
 
So the recommendations of you people and my love of Guacamelee convinced me to bite on the Mutant Blob bundle. Enjoying it much more than About a Blob so far. I dig the funny posters and shit sprinkled about too, especially the Guacamelee boss.

But how have we been talking about it in here all night without someone mentioning all the making fun of hipsters in the game?

Not a site, but EGM from 1997 to 2005 was the only reliable source for gaming news and reviews there ever was.

I guess Giant Bomb used to be pretty good.
