I never played Chrono Trigger on the PS1 because I played the Final Fantasy 3/6 port first and the load times were unbearable. If you have played the games before I wouldnt bother with the PS1 ports. But thats just me of course.

The DS port is the definitive version. Stay away from the PS1 version if you can.

That's what started me coming here, was the openness. It wasn't all about "OMG, on topic please" or my favorite from the AWD thread "I thought there was a restock with all these posts. Please just post deals." (that AWD one kills me btw, look for deals yourself, lazy ass)

I can picture some of these guys wanting a Ben Stein sounding, monotone moderated deal forum with nothing but serious deal only posts. Who the hell would contribute to that?

Absolutely, I've never played Cross or Trigger so I'm picking up those and Muramasa. I'd love some quick opinions on whether I should both with Chrono Cross or Trigger though. To put it into perspective, I made it about halfway through P4 Golden and while I absolutely intend to finish I find it hard to stay on the longer RPGs. Have the Chrono games aged well? Also, I have the DS port of Chrono Trigger, is it substantially better than the PS One version?

Definitely getting Chrono Cross, been wanting it for a long time now. Tales of Symphonia is also a great deal, but my poor PS3 HD is already being pushed to its limit, so not as sure on that one.

Wish the Atelier prices were better. Been meaning to try one of those, but those seem like pretty shallow discounts.

This is the only thread I go to that doesn't have somebody saying, "Stay on topic". If we had to stay on topic 24/7 than this thread would 3 pages of posts instead of 42.

What a crappy sale making me spend money when all that stuff should have been free on PS+.

Planning on Atelier Meruru Plus, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Symphonia, ZoE HD.  Maybe DMC HD Collection and Armored Core Verdict Day as well.

Ys is highly recommended at that price for anyone that likes action oriented JRPGs.

I know people will ask whether Totori and Meruru are worth it at that price and just from a price stand point the answer is absolutely because it seems unlikely that they'll go lower anytime soon.  Totori was the same price eight months ago in August when it went on sale for the first time and since then has only had one or two other sales and at the same price.  I believe this is Meruru's first sale.  Whether you'll like the other games or not is a whole other ball of wax.

Tempted to get Metal Gear Rising as well, but then again, there's the fear that the game will show up free on Plus eventually. Chrono Cross might be nice to play through again, although I've been suckered by that nostalgia bug before. I always think I'd like to play an old game, but end up picking up something new instead.

I remember playing through chrono cross like 3 times to get all characters. That magic system was strange. I ran with the weirdest characters, serge and the scarecrow and the skeleton that could take its head off .

The whole Serge, Lynx and Kid plot was awesome too, especially with the intro fmv showing so many gotcha clips. no spoilers

As far as which the games go in three title arcs that are interrelated with Totori being the first of this arc. I've only played some of Totori so I can't comment on if Meruru is dependent on it at all for full appreciation or not.
