Murdered: Soul Suspect isn't nearly as bad as reviews claim (8-8.5/10), though I might be biased since I'm not paying anything overall to play it. I already have 49% completion on the trophies, so hopefully it won't be much longer before I get the plat.

No, he made several remarks. And this last one may seem innocent by itself, but taking it into account with his other posts I think you would see where I'm coming from. I don't know where you're coming up with the "lamenting their absence" stuff. I couldn't give a shit less whether somebody cares that jay and tyler are gone, but they were/are a big part of this thread and were/are liked by most. It hasn't even been a week since tyler was banned so of course people are going to talk and joke about it, and when he comes back I imagine you can expect it to carry on for quite awhile longer. Half the reason why people keep bringing tyler's name up is because they know he's sitting at his computer reading all this shit (much like jay now). And with it happening right on the heels of jay's banning, his name is going to get brought up to. I looked the other way the first few times, but he literally brought it up every time he posted. That's why I said what I did.

In for the Mass Effect Trilogy.  Was considering holding out for either a remastered PS4 version or a physical PS3 copy but $15 is cheap enough for me to pick it up.  

 
What do you guys think of SotC? I'm playing it now and I think it's brilliant. My only complaint is sometimes controlling Agro makes me want to jump off and chop off his head with my sword.

 
I enjoyed Remember Me. Just beat it this week. The remix sections reminded me of Heavy Rain. Combat was similar to Batman, but not as good. The story was interesting and different.

this thread is kickass.  if we just talked about the weekly update (which is the only thing that happens in relation to psn deals) it would only get like 10-12 hours of activity every week on Tuesday or whatever, and out of those 10-12 hours 9 hours would be people asking when the store updates and 3 hours would be people asking if X game is worth Y dollars.  Instead, while we still get the 10-12 hours of asking when the store updates / if X is worth Y, we ALSO get a boatload of off topic entertainment and a lot of video game talk from people who have varying but respectable opinions that I think is worth reading about.  I care waaaay more about what people in this thread say about watch dogs than a reviewer.

Yeah, CAG's lax off-topic moderating is definitely one of its main draws. Gives the forum a much different feel than others where mods are policing threads for non-video game talk. It can be a blessing and a curse though, I'd rather not have to sift through four pages of arguments about what one guy said on Steam one time that should be in a private conversation and not taking up half a page.

I absolutely love how it controls, and the online is amazing. I think games with picture perfect aiming feel unrealistic and, while they can be fun, generally prefer games where aiming is intentionally imperfect. A turn based example would be Valkyria Chronicles, where you know your bullet will fall somewhere within an aim circle, but don't know exactly where. You can see the difference once you're leveled up in TLOU and the game becomes headshot city (though i suppose this depends on skill level) -- I much preferred early on in the game where every bullet counted when shooting at an enemy running towards me.

I can totally understand disliking a game which has 'shaky aim' mechanics, but I'll take that over run and gun any day of the week (assuming the shaky aim is well implemented, obviously, which it is in TLOU).

When I played TLOU online, I destroyed. Yet, the shaky framerate, awfuls controls (like all of the Uncharted series too) make for a very terrible experience at worst and just bearable at best. Don't bring the imperfect aim stuff, that does not excuse ND, yet I still understand their ambition was too great. Now they have a second chance of redeeming a great game, making the gameplay run as smooth as its story.

I love the vita pretty much more than any console ever, but there's not much on that list to work with. the few things that I am interested in were announced quite a while ago. I'll hold out hope for some surprises though. usf4 purportedly is making its way to ps4, so maybe capcom bothered to do a vita port after all.

If it is busted, and you don't mind waiting a couple more weeks....it's been said by multiple people who have done it that you can send it to Sony and they will fix it for free. They'll accept an Amazon invoice as receipt and send you a "coffin" to mail it in.

Trade it in at gamestop for $397.50 if you're so concerned. $400 if it includes the headset. If you're worried about warranty, this is the best way you can go. ( I know, tax, but just giving you a solution so you can get a one year warranty and peace of mind.)

They can still charge you if they determine the receipt is invalid and Sony is fickle sometimes. So better get it from gamestop and if it breaks naturally, then he has a full year, with a receipt in hand just in case.

 
Really starting to get sick of people dismissing "Indie" games as games.  People constantly complaining next gen has no games, I regret getting a PS4 because there are no games.  I have way to many games and have no idea when i will get to them!!!  Indie games are games, and some are great games... AND THEIR CHEAP!!

If I wanted to play Atari looking games, I'd download an emulator. I don't spend $400 on a console to play shit that looks, feels, and sounds like it's from the 80s.

sadly I do agree with the sentiment. I'm over the retro trend - I'm all for it if it melds or makes sense with the gameplay/style of the game (hotline miami), but anymore I think developers are keeping with the blocky atariesque graphics because it's a.) hipster trendy and b.) cheaper / easier / faster.

Why in the world is gamestop giving almost $400 for a PS4? That makes no freaking sense. Not that I'm complaining.

Would I be better off simply waiting for the physical copies of the ME Trilogy to drop in price? Or maybe even skip most of the DLC and get ME2 and ME3 for cheap on 360?

As I understand it, all the DLC for ME1 is crap. I enjoyed all the story DLC that came on the PS3 disc of ME2. Some of it is side stories that give you new crew and some of it directly ties into ME1. PS3 version of ME2 comes with every piece of story DLC except The Arrival (which came out after the disc was released), it's end-game DLC which bridges the gap between ME2 and ME3 so you can always put off buying it until you finish getting to the end of ME2 to see if it goes on sale in the interim. If you are going to be getting a bigger HDD anyway you might as well strike while it's all on sale (as it doesn't happen often).

I pretty much draw the line at silent movies (with a few exceptions) is as far back as I'll go. I'll often check the schedule a week in advance on Turner Classic Movies and then set to record anything I had heard was good to give it a try. I recently starting watching a comedy/WHODUNIT film series from the 30's "The Thin Man" series and they have all been fairly entertaining so far

I do dig the art style and direction of Transistor. It has a personal feel to it, yet it is so lush and looks great. I did like Thomas Was Alone, but could only get invested in it once I turned on the documentary.

 
So are the story based DLCs for Amalur worth it or not?  The weapons and armor obviously aren't (and hardly look like anything you would pay for) but what about the other two?
