Nyko Data Bank + Seagate 3.5" 4TB SSHD acquired during Prime Day. I've now got 4 x 2.5" HDs of various sizes pulled from PS3 & PS4 if anybody is interested. :D/
I'd be interested to hear if you have any difficulties once you actually consume more than 2TB of space. I had a similar setup a few firmware versions ago and I would get licensing errors once I consumed more than 2TBs.

Sorry for not scrolling through the thread, is gravity rush worth $8? I already have a decent backlog and I don't play that often. However, it's hard to pass up any game that isn't "bad" for $8.

Yep. Plus, when I bought it during a past sale it was made clear it has the original Strider arcade game built in as well.

I went ahead and fired it up today and it starts with Strider 1 which is quite confusing. I found a blurb though... and you have to switch "virtual" discs to fire up Strider 2. Strider 1 is pretty cool for retro arcade with sprites, but Strider 2 is pretty much better in every way (audio is amazing, graphics & movement is smooth). Strider 2 also is still side scrolling but it's in a 3d world so the graphics have a lot more depth to them. For the $$$ if you like old school beatemups then you get a lot of bang for the price since it's two full games bundled together.

Here's the blurb on switching discs:

The only thing I'd add is to press and hold the PS button. Just pressing it will bring you back to the system screen.
The original physical copy of Strider 2 also came with a copy of Strider 1. Oddly enough, the disc labels were switched; Strider 2 was on the Strider 1 disc, and Strider 1 was on the Strider 2 disc.

Glad to see it's still hella confusing, even though it's been digitized. True to the original!

Vita version has quite a few frustrations and I had recurring glitches in which the touchscreen became unresponsive. I would buy the remastered version for PS4 instead, it also comes with the DLC that cost on the vita version.

I've played through much of the digital Vita version for the first time recently... I thought the experience was fantastic. I never had my touchscreen become unresponsive (Played on an Vita Slim) and the few glitches I experienced were mainly later in the game (mainly involving targeting) but not game breaking or anything. The only real difficulty I faced was in sneaking around and then in some of the timed extra side-missions having a hard time getting really exceptional scores. I enjoyed it enough to want the PS4 version even though currently I never play the PS4 (I leave it for my kids).

For $8, it's a solid deal. I get a lot of the same vibes from the game as the first Infamous (which I am a huge fan of). Infact there are a lot of similarities with both games.

Dude just accept that the vita died a long time ago and is currently on hospice to ease it into its last days. I was an early adopter, sold it like a year and a half ago and not one thing has made me regret that since then.
That's on you. The userbase might be small, but we buy a shit ton of games and they still bring a lot of games to it. Setsuna is an odd case, since it would have made them money to localize based on current trends. The version already exists, it just needed to be released and they've gone on record saying it might be released.

I don't really give a fuck when/where you bought/sold your vita. It doesn't make your opinion any more valuable to me. In fact, it just tells me you have no idea how many games are still getting released on vita if you think it 'died a long time ago'. I spend as much time on my vita as my ps4, if not more.

It's suppose to run like crap on vita. I'm just about as big of vita fan as you can get, but why wait for an inferior product that runs worse?
First, because I generally don't see the issue with a turn based game 'running like crap' on a system. it's turn based. Whatever. I also don't seem to care as much as others about frame rate and whatnot even if it wasn't turn based... I even platinumed Little King's Story, which actually struggled at times during busy scenes. Who cares?

Second, because of the above, I rarely trust internet users who say a game 'runs like crap' or 'is a slideshow' or whatever, because I know I have a much higher tolerance than them and there are many games they say 'run like crap' that i didn't even notice an issue with. For example, people often shit on Saint's Row 4 for the PS4. I plat'd that game and had a blast. Or R&C FFA on vita -- plat'd it without an issue. People would tell you they're unplayable.

Most importantly, I'll actually play it on vita. I'll never play it on a big tv. I'd spend $40 on it for vita, in fact. On ps4, I might spend $2 to add it to my backlog.

I own a VIta and 3DS but I have never been big on handhelds especially since I never game on the go. I also don't find them very comfortable especially not for JRPGs which could take many, many hours. I Am Setsuna apparently clocks in at a fairly short (for a JRPG) 25-30 hours but that is a lot longer than I want to spend staring at a Vita or even bother with my PSTV when a PS4 version is available. Still probably wait for a sale on it since I've bought so much during the recent sales.
Eh, for me, the vita is perfect. I can game for hours upon hours on it, and it's perfect for 100 hour jrpgs/drpgs/srpgs. I'd never play any of those on a big tv, but put them on my vita and it's perfect.

I owned several handhelds before vita and never used any of them. vita just 'works' for me. i can't explain it.

Vita version has quite a few frustrations and I had recurring glitches in which the touchscreen became unresponsive. I would buy the remastered version for PS4 instead, it also comes with the DLC that cost on the vita version.
Touch screen issues usually happen due to either:

1) The screen gets so warm from you touching it all the time [especially in hotter weather] that it eventually has a hard time sensing you touch it. very rare, only happens to me in very touch happy games.

2) If the screen gets a tiny bit wet [say, a drop of sweat or something] sometimes it 'shorts out' for a bit ... turning vita on/off fixes this. Very rare.

3) Broken vita?

Never had any issues with Gravity Rush. I've never heard anyone else complain about it either... most love it. I'd personally play it on vita, though i haven't played the remastered version yet.

Two questions:

Is infamous first light worth it to fans of infamous?
Is the Arkham Knight season pass worth it?
First light is cool. The story is fairly short, but then there is this sort of 'arena' based game which is hyper-focused on pure Infamous combat. I really, really enjoyed that. And the story is alright too.

All this could very well be true. Seeing that I haven't played it on vita (obviously) I am just going by what Ive read and heard. For all I know it runs great. But I think its also worth mentioning that the developers said that they created this game with the PS4 in mind. Now I know that might not mean much, or anything for that matter, but I guess I would prefer to play it as the developers intended. That being said, I would of course not be against another great game coming to vita. Im all for that. LONG LIVE VITA!!!!! :)

My dumbass pulled the trigger as soon as I saw Grandia III, thinking it was PS4 lol. Oh well, not a big deal since I'll stay play it but that should teach me to pay more attention.

The touchscreen mainly messed up in conjunction with doing the slide challenges. Did either of you do those or only the main missions?

I think it had sometimes to do with if you were still holding the slide position when you beat a challenge or failed a challenge, the game could lock those two inputs in place (so that the bottom left and right corner thought they were already being touched) even if you took your fingers off or returned to the main map. Probably 90% of my touchscreen malfunctions were tied to doing the challenge missions. Though that could also be because I barely used gravity slide outside of the challenge missions.

Just got this email 13 minutes so don't know how old news it is but it's exactly why I waited to get ROTR for :ps4: instead of getting it on :xb1:

I knew we would get the GOTY version but the extra goodies are such a nice bonus https://xmail.square-enix.com/fe/view/hag3re5ifi5i/af916ffdf077e199eacef41384f08642/612/en/email.html/eyJ1c2VyIjp7ImxhbmciOiJlbiIsImNvdW50cnkiOiJVUyIsImxvY2FsZSI6ImVuX1VTIiwiZXh0cmEiOiJOYm02cFZYN1NaVERBSjVJTExmd1k0V0VEdU11d1Z3K2VmQlNzTEh4OXhQRWkxSUJ2Z2lMUWZBNWt3Qk92dWIyIn19

Just to confirm what others have posted, The Marvel pinball pack for PS4 does indeed give you the vita and PS3 versions as well. It even says this on the description page before you buy it.

I have a nooby question, hoping someone can help.

If my brother wants the season pass for Battleborn (he plays with me on my PS4, he doesn't have one yet) would he be able to get the content without having the game at all?

I have the deluxe edition but apparently the season pass content doesn't transfer because it's attached to the account.

Eh. That's a decent way of trying to make up for screwing over PS owners initially I suppose. I played it on X1 and I didn't really enjoy it all that much. The first game was a lot better IMO. It's still a decent game, but it was definitely a letdown for me.

Just plat'd Need for Speed 2015

overall, worth it if you get it on sale.

pros -- super high car customization, both visually and mechanically.   very nice system, very easy to edit visuals, download wraps made by others, etc.   tons upon tons of car upgrades and tuning options, as well as a simple slider [drift vs grip] for those who don't want to spend time on that.

live action cutscenes can be corny, but overall I really enjoyed them.  they gave a nice sense of a 'crew' in a way racing games usually don't.  you eventually start meeting real life racing/modding celebs, which is cool.

it's open world like the most recent ones, though it's easy to teleport to races.   most races do feel like nicely designed courses.

that said, it never gripped me like other entries have.   It's almost always nighttime, and it gave a lot of the areas a sense of sameness.  there are no wideopen expanses, or forest areas... just various city areas [downtown, industrial, etc].   I just wasn't nearly as engaged as I was in previous entries.

Cops are nearly non-existant.   While likely trying to avoid the cop party that was Rivals [if you weren't being chased, you were doing something wrong] they went the opposite direction.  Cops are rare, and even if you do see one you'll be past it and 'escape' almost before it turns its lights on.

I miss the various weapons in other NFSs.   I get that this is trying to be more realistic, and i do appreciate that... but still, I guess I just prefer my Hot Pursuits/Rivals over this.

Except for a few story missions, you can race any car in any race.  You can also buy any car from the start once you earn enough money.   This sounds great, but in practice it means you'll soon have a Lambo and be racing Civics for half the game.   Something just feels a bit off... they were trying to make it so you can 'win the game' with any car, but it translates to super cars being absolutely game breaking OP.

Platinum is super easy.... you don't even need to collect the collectables.  There are no jumps to find, or billboards to crash.   there are some parts lying about, and some donut spots, and some scenic photos... but none of them need be found.

There are lots of race types, which is nice... off the top of my head --   sprints, circuit races, drag races, drift competition, drift train competition, touges [style with multiplier for race position], gymkhana, time trials, and more.     Most of the story races have ridiculously low target scores needed for most events, especially those with drifting... it's hard not to double the target in most cases if you have a properly tuned car.

None of that would matter if the game really grabbed me and i was competing with friends times like I've done in HP, MW, and Rivals.   But for some reason, this one never grabbed me in this way.    Leaderboards always just felt a little bit too hidden; it would have been nice if you saw the name of your friend with the best score above each race or something like that to drive competition.  they've done this better in previous installments, that's for sure.

Anyway, overall, i did enjoy the game and happily plat'd it.   I had more fun with HP, MW, Rivals though.   It was certainly better than The Run, though.

Pre ordered abzu. I know I'm gonna want it later so I might as well just save myself a few bucks now. I definitely won't be patient enough to wait for a better sale.

I've never seen anyone sound so positive on the Arkham Knight season pass. Most people describe it as "good" at best.
Yeah, to each his own of course, and I know I'm in the minority on loving the Arkham Knight Season Pass. I'm a huge fan of Batman and all the Arkham games and thought the amount of content in the Arkham Knight Season Pass was easily worth $30 relative to other $20 to $30 season passes in other games (I was able to only spent $20 on the AK Season Pass, FYI, but I would've spent $30 no problem).

Each piece of the single player story-driven content additions in the Season Pass are considered "short," but if you put them all together you get several more hours of story-driven stuff, and that doesn't include the huge amount of additional character and Batmobile skins and AR challenges added to the game with the season pass. In almost every other game/franchise I wouldn't care about that cosmetic and leaderboard-type stuff, but in the Arkham games I eat it up.

How is Putty Squad? I've been wanting the physical, but it never seems to drop in price. This seems like a decent alternative.

@Gerfty: is the Marvel Pinball a standalone for vita, or does it just unlock the ZP2 tables. I have the ZP2 tables through plus, but I like the trophy sets for the standalone tables more (like Star Wars).

I'm also in this group, I liked the Season Pass. I get that is was disappointing early on, particularly if you didn't get it on sale. The episodes were short and the tracks and stuff weren't all that interesting. It was the last episode (the Batman one with more villains) that really made it worthwhile (I also really liked the Batgirl one). Taken altogether, it was a ton of new stuff to do. Individually, the pieces seemed somewhat short (except the last one, again). For $40 (the original price), way too much. On sale for $10 it is a bargain.

I could really go for Okami on the PS4. Wish there was an update on Ronin as well.

I think I'm gonna wait on the Play games. Only one I really want is Abzu, but I think I can wait for a sale down the line. None of the other 3 are making it worth it for me to go after the 20% code.

I don't have the stand alone Marvel Pinball. I should have clarified that. It was for Zen Pinball 2. Previously if you purchased the tables on the PS4 they didn't unlock the PS3 and vita versions. It appears that has changed. When I purchased the Season 2 Marvel pack for PS4 it unlocked the vita and PS3 versions and as I mentioned it says it will do that on the page description. So it looks like they changed the way that works now.

Man, they need a Zen Pinball for dummies....

I have whatever was free for plus. I have the 'main game' on vita, and I know i have a bunch of star wars/marvel stuff on it.... all from ps+.

Do i need to buy any of these sets or am i already complete? I'd only want ones that have the same bubble... space is already at a premium.

I'd definitely play through Okami one more time if it was on PS4 with a new set of tropheez!

All the tables fall under one bubble, except for the stand alone Star Wars Pinball but that's not on sale and you could just not install it anyway.

If you only have the tables that came with Plus, then you are missing a whole lot of tables. I think only the original Marvel set of four tables have ever been on Plus (they're included in the season 1 bundle, meaning you would only get 7 new tables from that bundle instead of 11. That was several years ago on Plus tho)

Season 2 you should need every single one of those tables.

Yeah, it's from a long time ago... I've had plus since month 2.

Actually.... didn't Sony announce they were going to reward people who subbed from month 1 maybe 6 months ago? DId anything ever come of that?

Bringing this over from the old PSN thread... Just a public service announcement concerning the 20% discount code you get for purchasing two games through the Play promotion... the fine print says the code will arrive by September 6 and must be used by October 4. I was hoping to use the discount on a variety of big fall releases (BF1, Last Guardian, PSVR games, etc.) that release later in October. Since the code doesn't work with preorders, my plans have been foiled. FYI.
Bummer, thanks for the heads up. I was planning on using it for BF1, too. Code def won't work on a PSN preorder?

In EU I think they got some lithograms or something mailed to them. Not sure about here.

Does anyone know if Moon Hunters is gonna be crossbuy or crossplay? I bought the game anyway, but it looks like it'd be great to play on my Vita.

Two questions:

Is infamous first light worth it to fans of infamous?
Is the Arkham Knight season pass worth it?
Arkham Knight season pass is worth every penny at that discount price. The Batgirl/Season of Infamy DLC are both fun, plus you get some nice alternate outfits, like the Michael Keaton Bat-suit. And, though the racing tracks get tons of hate, the Batman 66 tracks as well as the Batman '89/Returns race tracks are a blast (and feature music from the films)

Yup.  I first purchased Life is Strange when it first hit for my PS4, then got the limited edition for my Xbox One, and with this sale, I'll get the PS3 version.  Great game and the story gets too much hate.

EDIT: oh yeah, my avatar is from the game as well

I'd be interested to hear if you have any difficulties once you actually consume more than 2TB of space. I had a similar setup a few firmware versions ago and I would get licensing errors once I consumed more than 2TBs.
Support for 4TB drives was added in firmware 3.5. No problems so far. I'll post if anything acts up.

I strongly suggest anyone who hasn't check this out yet to do so. Fantastic game, and most definitely worth $15.
I agree. I didn't think I would like it due to the protagonist being a teenage girl but after enjoying episode 1 which I got in a bundle, I ended up buying and playing the remaining episodes one right after the other.. Very gripping story with some powerful emotional moments.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/07/21/a-sampling-of-secrets-from-riptide-gp-renegade-out-july-26/

Riptide GP: Renegade is coming next week for PS4. They also share some secrets about the new game like how to enable Big Head mode.
I picked up Riptide GP2 when it was a dollar and change and enjoyed it quite a bit so I'll keep my eye on this one. Hoping there are no grindy multiplayer trophies in Renegade though since it has online play. The Steam version of GP2 had online play and some tedious achievements to go along with it.

This entire twitter chain seems to suggest that you shouldn't count on a Vita version coming out, and sounding like it won't have cross buy

https://twitter.com/KitfoxGames/status/755537239254368256

I'm more disappointed that it also doesn't sound like it will get online MP on ps4 either.

Yeah, unfortunately these discount codes have never worked with preorders. Here's the exact "Terms and Conditions" regarding the discount code:

A code (“Code”) will be delivered to the email account associated with Eligible Person’s PSN Sign-in ID by September 6, 2016 11:59PM (Pacific Time). Each Code is good for one qualifying PSN account to redeem the 20% off in-cart discount via PlayStation®Store. Code must be redeemed at checkout and discounted transaction completed by October 4, 2016 at 11:59pm PT. Redeemable only on PS3™, PS4™, and online store. Does not apply to PlayStation®Store transactions made on PlayStation®Vita, PlayStation®TV, PSP®, or in-game. Some exclusions apply, including but not limited to pre-orders, PlayStation Plus memberships, Spotify subscription on PlayStation Music, PlayStation®Now content, rental and certain other video content. Code is not redeemable for cash, cannot be returned for cash or credit, may not be used for any other purpose, and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged.

Has Bloodborne - The Old Hunters DLC been on sale yet? I was originally going to wait for the digital deluxe version of Bloodborne to reach $20-$25 before buying, but now I'm contemplating picking up the disc on sale at Best Buy and then waiting for The Old Hunters to reach $5-$10. Wondering which is the most likely of happening first.

No, and I really want it to drop to at least 50% off so I can play more of my 2015 GotY. :headache:

Buy the DLC at any price please Vig, it has best fights and probably best soundtrack in the entire souls series. Use them Amazon digital credits =)

Yeah, I'm still waiting on the Trials Fusion Super Happy Happy Joy Joy DLC to go on sale and the bundle has gone on sale multiple times already. Seems like this is happening alot this gen. If I buy it now, I'll probably play this sooner rather than later, been looking forward to it. Should I just dive in now, hope for the best on the DLC?

No way. I'm not paying $20 for the DLC when the base game is now the same price. :nottalking:
A true CAGer, I like it. But, he is right, that was truly worthy DLC. Five new bosses, three of which are very tough challenges and great environments. When you first enter, it seems like they simply re-treaded some areas, but that changes quickly. The only problem is the obscure method of entering the content (but there was another section of content you entered the same way in the main game). I bought it first day and did not regret paying the full price for a single second. I also got my PS4 for Bloodborne, paid full (GCU) price for the main game and never regretted that for a second either.

We're getting another Flash sale?
Where did you hear that? Or are you asking if we are getting another flash sale? Your wording is throwing me off. :p

EDIT: Ahhh. I see the banner in the PSN store now. Just see battleborn right now. Hopefully other games will pop up? Either way, thanks for the heads up.
