I think I'm going to hold off on using that 20% code until next week when Stardew Valley releases.  Nothing else really catches my eye at the moment...

 
Going to try and sign up, 20% is enough to go ahead and get SFV 2017 season pass. They're smart starring with Akuma.

As someone with both platforms, PSN sales regularly soundly top MS sales, but I generally like the GWG choices better.

Signed up last night and thought maybe I'd get at least a welcome email. Nothing (and even on my phone that has no junk filter). So not hopeful that I'll get the newsletter.

Kind of sucks. Why couldn't they have used a generic code like they have in the past that still could only be used once?

Interesting question - has anyone compared the last few digits of their 20% codes to verify that they are different?

 
Bought the Overcooked bundle the other night and played 5 levels or so with the wife.  It's pretty fun, we got stuck trying to 3-star the burger level though.  Haven't got that one down yet.

 
Was the 20% code only for Plus members? My Plus subscription expired December 1, and I didn't re-up it until a few days ago, and my newsletter email didn't have a code in it.
 
Thanks for mentioning the code, I would have just ended up deleting the newsletter without reading it. This will pair great with whatever Rock Band songs drop this week along with some Overwatch Christmas boxes  :D/ .

 
If you don't see the code in the e-mail and you are using a browser with extensions that block certain things, such as ads or javascript, you might want to try viewing the e-mail in a different browser. Or be sure nothing is being blocked when you view the e-mail.

When I view the e-mail in Firefox, which has adblock and noscript, I see the code in between the Holiday Sale and New This Week sections, but there is nothing around saying what it is for. When I use the Gmail app on my phone to view the e-mail I see the code is inside a graphic saying it's for 20% off, and saying thanks for reading the newsletter.

Though for me the code still showed up even though the graphic was blocked, so there is a very slim chance this would work for those who don't see the code.

 
Can anyone weigh in on the co-op in Divinity: Original Sin? I'm debating about picking that up to play through with my wife.

It works really well. My wife and I only really played the game in co-op (at least 40 hours worth). You have to be in the same loaded area (which are actually really big), but other than that it is split screen when far from each other. Frequently she would go to town and craft/sell stuff and I would do other things. It can be annoying to have to split up your party when she joins the game, but I like that you can assign a second character to both players. You will probably want to stick together for combat, though, or at least not take any actions until the other person shows up.

 
Thanks for the heads up on the 20% off coupon, I glanced at the email and deleted it not even noticing the code right below the main banner.. lol  Crap thing is I just bought like $80 worth of stuff from this sale on Tuesday and passed on a couple things because my cart was getting up there.. now to debate on using the coupon on the couple things I passed on or cross my fingers that next weeks sale will have anything I'm interested in.. 

Side note: Oceanhorn is a blast.. I can't put it down and probably one of my fave downloadables this year.. if I had a gripe is that the game drops hearts like crazy lowering the difficulty level, that said it doesn't make the game any less a good time.. highly recommended!

When was that email sent? I get playstation emails every week but the email I received on the 7th doesn't mention a code. It has The last guardian listed first on it. I'm going to try viewing it on my pc instead of my phone.

I also got it on the 9th like Thatguy1513. The title of it is "PSN-NAME, see what's new this week" and mentions "Holiday Sale Week 1" at the top of the e-mail and has a banner for the sale that has borderlands the handsome collection, UFC, and the Division

I got the email on the 7th, title was "(username), here's your Playstation weekly update", and had "The Last Guardian is finally here" at the top of the email. No code for me, and I went on chat but got shot down. [emoji35]
 
I just remembered about the Uncharted 4 Explorer's Pack including The Lost Legacy expansion for $25. The Explorer's Pack is being pulled Tuesday, so if anyone wants to use the 20% code on it you'll most likely have to do it with this week's sale. Chances are it will be pulled shortly before next week's deals go live.

The coupon code will bring The Lost Legacy down to $20. Naughty Dog hasn't said what the new stand-alone price will be, but I can't imagine it being lower than $20. I think I will use the code this week on the Explorer's Pack and some other dlc.

Saving the coupon for next week will only work out better if there ends up being more than $25 worth of content on sale that I will buy. After everything I bought in November I can't think of anything I even hope goes on sale. Bioshock: The Collection, Doom, Bloodborne, and Witcher 3 were what I was hoping to get in the year-end sales, and I got 'em.

Lost Legacy is also coming to store shelves so unless you really want the multiplayer currency for Uncharted 4 maybe you're better off just waiting for the inevitable sales for the digital or physical releases. If it releases at $30 than you're already getting a physical copy day 1 for $24 from Best Buy.

Uncharted 4's season passes have seemed like a shitshow, so far.

 
It looks like there are two newsletters to sign up for. I get "[username], here's your Playstation weekly update" e-mails from "PlayStation". I get "[username], see what's new this week" e-mails from "PlayStation Store"

This week's PlayStation Store e-mail had the 20% code. It was delivered on the 9th, and the first thing highlighted was the Holiday sale.

This week's Playstation e-mail was delivered on the 7th, and the first thing highlighted was The Last Guardian.

It seems somewhere people need to sign up for the Playstation Store e-mails.

$26 after tax. And that's if it's $30. Since it's getting a physical release and is now a stand-alone game I could see it going for $40.

 
So many things are messed up with psn pricing. AC4 and EDF4.1 are both listed at $30 when the msrp on them is $20 now. So the real price of them should be $8 and $10 respectively. Also it is the same price as unity and it came out a whole year before that.

That decision is up to XSeed and Ubisoft, so you'll have to take it up with them.

 
Wish I waited on disgaea 5 with season pass, could of saved $7.20. Should of had this 20% on black friday other then that 10%. What's done is done I guess. Anyone know if this code works on Web store cause from what I've read it doesn't work on vita store.
 
Well, that blows that they're unique. Hope they send out another round of emails for those of us who just signed up.

Not sure why they made it unique when others in the past weren't and they still were able to limit it to one per account.

Those were meant for everybody to use, these are not which is why they're unique. That's why they were sent in emails instead of promoting on PS store to reward people who are signed up and receive their emails.

It still sucks though cause there are people who were signed up all along and never even gotten it.

Still BS. Just because someone doesn't get the newsletter doesn't make them any more or less likely to be Sony fans. So this actually just pisses people off.

If they if they really wanted to push the newsletter, something like a link on PSN to sign up saying you would receive a coupon would be another option and not alienate people who spend money with them regularly.

To me, PS+ is more of a display of loyality.

Still BS. Just because someone doesn't get the newsletter doesn't make them any more or less likely to be Sony fans. So this actually just pisses people off.

If they if they really wanted to push the newsletter, something like a link on PSN to sign up saying you would receive a coupon would be another option and not alienate people who spend money with them regularly.

To me, PS+ is more of a display of loyality.

The default when you sign up for PSN is to receive the promotional emails. It doesn't turn off automatically unless you manually uncheck to receive promotional emails.

It's no different when you sign up for any store emails where they send unique coupon codes to those WHO are receiving their promo email.

It's why I have an email dedicated to promotional spam.

Can't say I've ever even seen a weekly newsletter, although I must be signed up for something since I recently received a 15% off code for having been on PSN for x number of years.

It seems somewhere people need to sign up for the Playstation Store e-mails.

I received a PS Store email on the 8th touting "Let it Die."

Never receved a PS store email listing the holiday sale, no code for me. I am a PS+ member.

I don't recall ever unchecking a box on PSN when signed up.

To me, this is different. I pay for PS+ so I expect to get the same benefits as everyone else. I don't pay Newegg to get promo codes.

I've created a ton of PSN accounts (some I've lost because I no longer remember the email associated), and all of them received newsletter by default. NA region, and non-NA region.

I don't see how being PS+ automatically entitles you to all marketing promotion codes. Best Buy sends out $5-$10 gift cards randomly (usually to those who haven't shopped at BB in a while). They certainly don't care if you're elite, elite+, or GCU member. There are a few retailers who do this, Sears/Kmart, ebags and so forth (doesn't matter if you have their premium VIP membership programs). Shoprunner sent me a bunch of promo crap for free, and they keep renewing my membership for free simply because I don't bother with them enough.

Disney sends me free DMR points and stuff all the time because I'm signed up for their newsletter, and read them (the free points is exactly why I read their monthly newsletter). It doesn't matter if I paid for Disney Movie Club or a D23 membership or not. The free points are only in their newsletter.

There is no reasonable reason to feel entitled and believe that Sony needs to be special and give you the discount code, when the discount code is meant to entice those who receive their newsletter to read them. When the purpose of the code has nothing to do with PS+ or not, just a way of thank them for opening their emails.

 
^^ Again, if they want to entice people to read them maybe they ought to make this an incentive to sign up.

And maybe they need to improve their system where all people that signed up actually get them since there have been numerous posts about people who signed up who never got the newsletter.

But I suppose you are entitled because you are lucky enough to have gotten one.

Nah, not even a bit entitled. As I've said, I have an email dedicated to many promo emails. I win some, I lose some. But I'm not about to throw a stink because I didn't win it all. If I don't get one, I move on but I never once felt entitled to something free or targeted.

As I've said, the default to receive the promo notification is on by default when signing up. Sign up incentive only works when it's retail store trying to get you to give them your email. By creating a PSN, you're giving them the email.

I haven't had issue in receiving PSN weekly newsletter emails from any of my accounts. It could very well be people have certain filter/spam protection on. I know gmail automatically starts sending promo emails into spam and deleting them if the user never opens the promo emails.

Crap. Looks like I'm getting destroyed right now for my Scorpio comments. Should have known better ... 

BUT! There is another benefit with X1 games: Whenever there are sales, the X1 versions of the game are always in stock while PS4 are usually sold out. 

Edit: I may be suffering from "grass is always greener on the other side."
