In my area, Vue is $44.99 a month for the core package which has channels I would want. Awesome if people here are paying $30 a month and getting the channels they want. It's a case by case basis for sure and sucks that my circumstances are such that Vue makes little sense for me over just paying for cable or Sat.

Yep same thing in my area. I like that Vue has ESPN and NFL network but no History channel. Cloud DVR sounds like a nice feature but at $45 a month I'll just get cable. For now I'm fine with the $25 slingtv package.

I got the game when it first came out back in 1993 but it came with a full hint book so I ended up barely trying to figure out the puzzles on my own and rushing through the game due to me having no willpower. Played through this time without looking at a guide except for trophy cleanup and I would suggest everyone do the same since the puzzles aren't too obscure like they are in Grim Fandango.

I'm glad there aren't any new games I'm interested in coming out for several weeks. Good chance to finish up a few games and maybe clear a few from the backlog.

I've purchased it four times now, I think, and wouldn't mind buying it a fifth on iPad! (In addition to PS4, I have it on Steam.)

I original bought it on 3.5" floppies. I remember making my family watch the intro over and over, because it was full talkie even on the disk version. But then I got it on CD as well when I got a CD-ROM drive for the full talkie. Oddly, now I am nostalgic for the days of no talkie, just fantastic music and sound effects with plenty of text!

I had totally forgot it came with a hint book. I remember when I first played it (SPOILER!!!), I did not realize that Dr. Fred had the battery plans on his bulletin board right there in the basement, same place where he asks for them I believe. So I spent a great deal of time with Bernard going all over the hotel asking people if they'd seen the battery plans. There's a huge amount of dialogue one would miss if one were smarter than myself and realized where they were in the first place.

I must have broken out the hint book when I finally gave up on trying to find the battery plans! But now when I play it again, I sort of want to pretend I don't know where the battery plans are, just to re-experience that. That's probably one of the few puzzles I actually remember from the game.

I had the same repeated problem logging in via Web browser on my tablet. I downloaded the PlayStation App and I can get in fine now. And I do have two step verification turned on, had to authorize the app once, then I don't have to reenter my pw thereafter.

Nobody does that for digital. One of the CS reps on the Best Buy forum mentioned interest in doing it once upon a time, but it never happened.

Agreed. I'm using Sling right this moment because they ran a one month and get a Roku promo and I was wanting to watching the big college football games. At it's best it's mostly fine but the app is terrible and Vue really puts it to shame.

i remember having direct tv back in the mid 90s.. they didnt offer local channels so they had to give us east and west coast feeds.. silly now but back then thought it was so cool being able to watch both feeeds

I liked it simply due to being able to watch something earlier or later than it would normally be on. Though these days I just use the internet for all my tv show needs. lifes too busy to adhere to a shows ridiculous schedule that they rarely keep to.

This is the reason why the soulsborne games are so popular. They are just pure gameplay. You have 100% control over your character at all times. Even in the hub in bloodborne you could attack the doll and do whatever.

I couldn't disagree more. Those awful no control moments allow developers to implement new types of gameplay besides take avatar, put in world, do stuff. They're used in a highly effective manner in great games to tell a crucial part of the story or change up perspectives and action. There's no other way to effectively allow Kratos to have a threesome in between battles. Also since tomb raider came first I think Uncharted borrowed from it, changed, improved on it and now Tomb Raider is playing catch up.

The new Tomb Raider games are really mediocre. They have a million items to pick up and ways to traverse and things to unlock/upgrade, but it's all extremely shallow and meaningless. They're generic modern games that are all style over substance.

I miss the more in-depth exploration of the original Tomb Raider.

You can't be serious. Aside from the main story line in the games, there are tons of tombs to explore -- many with very complex puzzles. The story lines are far deeper and have more emotional resonance than any of the original Tomb Raider games. The originals were fun at the time and classics. But the newer games are far and away better games in terms of everything.

The first game had like 6 optional tombs all of which were literally just a long force walk cave to hide the loading screen, a short easy 2 minute puzzle and then another short walk to open a chest.

I admit I have never seriously played the earlier games(I played a couple older ones for maybe an hour) so I don't know what the tomb raiding is suppose to be like or was like before the reboot.

After playing tomb raider I can see how much Uncharted 4 was influenced by it. The axe thing that is used to grab to walls was taken directly from tomb raider. I am wondering now how good Rise of the Tomb Raider is since the first game usually does not get it right just like Uncharted didn't do it right until 2.

Eh, they're good action games but I felt they were very light on the exploration/puzzle solving aspects as well.

With that being said, I loved that game, and Rise of the Tomb Raider when I played them on 360. I haven't played any of the older games because I didn't like the controls. Haven't played Uncharted yet either. Though that may be next on my "to-buy" list.

I do agree the tombs in the first one weren't that great but the second one has some great ones IMO.

And, yes, the Uncharted games absolutely should be on your to buy list.

I thought RotR was a better action game and even more glaringly sparse in what made Tomb Raider games great so go figure. I also give it even less credit because unless you actively go seek out the hidden tombs in the post game there's even less of that. That's my opinion though.
