This week's sales and the flash sale from the weekend are going to take me broke. I guess it was a good thing that the previous two weeks were so awful.

 
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is on sale. Absolutely loved it and even though the price is pretty steep ($19.99) I would highly recommend it for any Vita owners out there that may not have played it.

Hah I am well aware. I just have so many games already in my backlog both downloaded and not I use that as my way of deciding if I need to buy it. If I can easily make space for it by deleting other games I am done with then I can justify the purchase. If I cannot make space, then clearly there are other games in my head I want to play more and so I hold off on buying it. With all the deals on CAG we all have to have our own way of self policing ourselves so as to not overspend! : P

No chance. Sales create actual sales. They had a light month, mostly because they probably had so many sales the months previous and took a few weeks easy. This week may be slow, and even next week, but there is no chance they're only going to have a flash sale a month. It would be store suicide and they know it.

With digital games that we can download infinite times, there's no technical reason to not buy a game due to space. And if there is no technical reason, then why would Sony feel the need to release a technical solution?

 
You can't download infinite times, because the length of time Sony will grant access to the PSN store isn't infinite. We don't know when it will be, but it is guaranteed that at some point we loose access to our digital games.

they know it's very much needed with ps4

speaking with wallets might get them to reconsider their position, that includes system and game purchases

might not ever make a difference but it certainly doesn't hurt

I really want to try out Stardew Valley based on all the good things I've heard about it, but I heard that there are issues with it on the Pro, which I use as my primary console. Has anyone here noticed any issues and its it really game/system breaking?

Oh, Way of the Samurai 4 is on sale for $9.99. I don't think it's been this low before. This looks like it could appeal to fans of the Yakuza series, especially since the samurai installments for that series might never come here. I'll probably get it since I've been hankering for a new Onimusha for a while now.

Well, if they happen to misinterpret your reasons for not buying any of their products (like, say, making the completely natural assumption that it's because the products themselves are bad and should never be made again), then yes, it most certainly could hurt.

 
Titanfall 2 pricing is crazy.  The game didn't sell that well at all and the game has been $30 bucks physically (and perhaps digitally) on several occasions.

I believe that they would be smartest to put the game on sale at a $20 price point - which will attract more buys before the game gets way too old and no one cares about it anymore.

I just set a budget for the month if spending is an issue. If the budget is too tight to set a limit for the month then I just gotta take a break from buying anything because I shouldn't be if money is that tight.

Right now, my biggest issue is not money but rather trying to reduce my game collection so I can focus playing more of what I LOVE rather than just what seems interesting (or is cheap).

I'm starting to finally figure this out as well. I've spent way too much money on games because they were cheap, not because I was waiting for a price drop on a game I really wanted to play. I have dozens of games I either never played at all or played for 10 minutes and never went back to, meanwhile I'm going back to playing games I've already beaten from years ago.

I'm in the middle of making a list of games I haven't finished and I'm determined to clear through my backlog once and for all. For every 5 games I clear though, I'll allow myself to purchase one game. Hopefully by the end of the year, my list will be down to ten games - games I didn't have at the start of 2017.

Gaming is still pretty much in its infancy in those regards. Categorizing any game with a single playable character is for the most part just describing how the combat works compared to the combat in other games. A game without combat has been given its ghetto category of walking sim.

It's excellent. I've played through about 4 chapters so far, using Green Ranger (he's unlockable) and white ranger (pre-order bonus)

The combat system is very good, particularly once you gain a level or two and start purchasing upgrades. Air combos, ground combos, grabs, blaster attacks, a stamina system that limits how often you can use your strongest attacks, morphing (requires a certain amount of energy and will refill your health), dash attacks, aerial stomps, a ground smash move, a charge up 360 attack, back attacks, a "super power mode" that you can activate when you're morphed and have a full energy bar, and a variety of co-op attacks for 2-4 players. Most of this stuff only becomes available when you're morphed, but it can be fun playing un-morphed for as long as you can for a bit of a challenge. There's a decent variety of enemies and they require different tactics for defeating them. Some enemies block, some have shields, some are flyers, some teleport around, some need to be attacked from behind, and others can only be hit after they attack and drop their guard.

Controls are great, most of the time. I have a few hiccups from time to time, but they're rare.

I love beating the crap out of putties. It's very easy to send one flying into others like knocking down pins with a bowling ball. And you can grab them and toss them into hazards or into pits. It's actually funny the sound they make when you toss them into a bottomless pit. In fact, the sounds they make in general and the sounds you hear when you hit them are right out of the original show

It takes some time to gain a level, and you only have one life, so unlike something like the Scott Pilgrim game you actually need to develop a certain level of skill if you're playing solo. If you have a partner or two to play with though, you can revive each other if you die. I like the leveling system. It's slow, but there are hidden XP orbs you can find in some levels. They'll instantly bump you up a few levels, but once you find them no other ranger can use them as they disappear forever. You can also repeat boss fights if you want to try and level a bit faster. This game isn't all about stats like Scott Pilgrim, so you don't have to worry too much about leveling, but doing so does allow you to purchase new moves and buffs (like a longer health bar). You will become stronger as you level up, but the game is balanced enough that you should never feel the need to grind. You just need to play skillfully, or have a party of people who can revive you when you die

Some people have complained about lack of checkpoints and saves. I don't know what they are talking about. Each chapter has about 3 areas where it saves a checkpoint and you can replay them after you've beaten them.

The graphics aren't as amazing as Castle Crashers or Scott Pilgrim, but it's a colorful game and everything looks right. Putties look like putties, Rita looks like Rita, rangers look like rangers, etc. The music is a mix of rock, metal, and slightly re-worked music from the show.

There's brief cut scenes. They look good and there's actually some decent humor in some of writing. The game embraces some of the show's cheesiness. The story kind of follows some stuff from the show, like the evil green ranger arc

A few negatives:

No online, which wouldn't bother me if not for the fact that a few trophies were clearly done with multiplayer in mind. Plus, there's a bunch of co-op attacks built into the game. This game is strictly couch co-op, though you can maybe use Shareplay. I'm gonna need to use some extra controllers to nab a few of those trophies. Maybe they pull a Scott Pilgrim and add online later, or maybe it ends up like Double Dragon Neon and never gets it added in. Who knows?

The megazord battles don't play like Street Fighter. I know that is what some people expected, but that's not what we got. They are fun though. There's two parts to them. One is you shooting at enemy weak points in Megazord tank mode while blasting incoming projectiles. Then the second phase is a melee battle that plays out via random quick time events. Your goal in phase 2 is to do enough successful QTEs to built up a super meter than lets your megazord unleash a super combo, though you can still win the fight without using it and missing a few QTEs doesn't equal failure, you simply take some damage to your megazord's health. I think there's an XP bonus for nailing all the QTEs though, but I'm not sure. My understanding is that all players in a co op game have some control during these Megazord battles, which I don't think would work if they were done like a 1 on 1 fighting game. Also, you will have a regular boss battle with these enemies before you even get to the Megazord fight, after which Rita will do the classic, "Magic wand, make my monster grow!"

Like a lot of old school beat 'em ups, hit detection is occasionally an issue, when you swear you're hitting the guy but it's not registering. It doesn't happen often enough to be a problem though.

I don't know why so many people are ignoring this game or assuming it's bad. If you liked the original Power Rangers and grew up on stuff like Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Ninja Turtles, etc. you'll enjoy it. And if you're into more recent stuff like Castle Crashers, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Double Dragon Neon, Shank, etc. than this game will be right up your alley

It's the most fun beat 'em up I've played since the excellent A King's Tale Final Fantasy XV

Gamestop marked down all their fat PS3s to $40 recently. Grab one (if you don't already have a PS3) with the biggest HD available (or replace it with a 1 TB), then just download all your games to it. Then if you are ever in the mood to play one of them and don't want to wait for a download/paranoid about the vita store shutting down, transfer it over from the PS3.
