Salt & Sanctuary just dropped for the Vita, and it's crossbuy. So the countdown to a sale didn't actually start till a couple of days ago.

 
Can u buy avatars and themes from the ps app? I noticed that clicking extras in the store does not bring up any new avatars or themes past 2014 or so. And I am guessing that the website store is the same since the app just brings up the store in its own webview browser.

Or am I missing something?

I just plat'd Horizon (holy crap I loved it) and went to go sell it on amazon... it's been awhile since I sold anything used.   And... Amazon wouldn't let me, and it seems like it blocks selling a lot of games used.   i found one forum where it looks like they are 'brand restricting' huge swaths of games [anything by Sony, MS, etc].

How are people selling their used games nowadays?   Amazon was always my go to but if I'm understanding what they've done correctly they've effectively destroyed their used marketplace.

Amazon has had a crazy amount of fake listings on popular products like nintendo switch items, so maybe they are just restricting things for right now until they get it figured out. I would try again in a couple days or sell it on ebay.

I thought Arrival was hugely overrated. The characters beyond Amy Adams all seem like placeholders and tools to move the plot forward with no depth whatsoever and along a similar path the behavior of the governments in the movie is just not believable. Throw in the horrible ending and I pretty much hated that movie. Glad I only spent 50 cents on it.

I have to agree. I got the 50 cent rental on PSN because my GF had been wanting to watch the movie; she loved it enough to watch it twice, but I felt like you that many of the characters were one-dimensional and simplistic, and the plot was not very believable. Even though Interstellar was also a stretch, I enjoyed it a lot more.

See I go the other way for more or less the same reasons and can understand why you didn't like it. Going to spoiler the rest just in case:

To me though it's absolutely classic sci-fi where it's an intimate story about Louise and Ian even though it's told through this ostensibly grand narrative. So if you're looking at it as this huge aliens arrive and this is how the world responds epic then it would be disappointing because as you mentioned those are just the set pieces for that story to be told. I can also understand feeling like you just watched a Shamanomnomnom twist but I would counter that when viewed in the context of the entire film it wasn't a twist as much as what the entire film had built to and at the heart of it.

Louise comments multiple times about how the aliens perceive time is different from our own and that their writing reflects it. Ian and her discuss the theory of how immersion in a language changes how you actually perceive the world. In the beginning she tells us outright that her perception of the order of events was wrong and that her perception has changed. In purely classic sci-fi fashion everything is given to us as the viewer but like Louise we lack the ability to put the pieces together because we can only perceive them through our rigid expectations. Once our perspective shifts we can then see these things from another perspective and understand how our preconceived assumptions about them limited our understanding.

Sci-fi is at its best not when it's doing Star Wars but when it's challenging your view of how the world works and what's possible in it and making you look at things with a different perspective. Ultimately it's not even a story about aliens, or the general, or the CIA guy, or the military or anything else that served to propel and distract. It was a story of pain and understanding and choice even when being freed from the unknown is bondage unto itself.

So I can understand why you didn't like it, especially if that wasn't the story you expected or wanted, but I thought it was masterfully executed.

Except Ian ruins the intimate portrayal of this couple. He is also a shell of a person, who we never dig deep enough into and the moral implications of what she does to him at the end just aren't addressed and ultimately make her a very unlikable protagonist. He needed to have a voice in their decision to have that kid and she totally denied him that. I hated that.

The real question here is the price. They could be released individually for $10 each or charge for a collection of all of them. I could honestly see them charging $60 for all of these.

 
Lol no one would pay $60 for these. I paid like $10 or $15 for the ps3 hd collection one black Friday. I wouldn't be surprised if the ps3 collection runs better and looks crisper. This seems like more of a straight ps2 port like the other classic releases...?...I dunno

I love these random sales like today's. Several Vita games for $2.50 or less makes those all instabuys for me. If I can kill a few hours on each of those they are well worth it.
 
If anyone is considering Wanderjahr  (and you aren't, only 20 or so people have played it on PS4 I believe) I think the Vita trophy list glitches past 22%, and as one of 2 people with 19% on the PS4 I believe that is due to the controls not truly being optimized for PS4. There is a ridiculous difficulty spike at 3-7 and I am at a loss for how to get past it. Based on comments from the developer the key seems to be quickly swapping out specific characters and this game was designed for mouse or touchscreen. Maybe a more skilled player could get past it, according to PSN though no one has trophied past that point.
