Did anybody else buy the PS3 pixel junk bundle? Already been escalated in tech support but Eden, monsters, and 4am didn't unlock and still show as unpurchased.
 
I really feel like I should get the PS2 classics bundle for $7.99 despite knowing I'll probably barely touch them. Can anyone who has played them vouch for how well they've held up? I only ever played Twisted Metal Black and have fond memories.
 
Totally off topic, does anyone in here have a strong opinion on Alexa vs. Echo?   I'm going to get one or the other for the wife for mother's day but don't know which way to go.  I'm guessing some of you guys have used them.

I'm guessing you mean a Dot vs. Echo? Dot is the hockey puck-sized one while the Echo is the taller, cylindrical one. I have three Dots and two Echos, and have had the Echo since before it was available to the general public. Each has its uses. The biggest questions to answer are...(1) Do you want to use it to listen to music? and (2) Are you going to use it with an external speaker for music?

If you have no desire to use it for music, get the Dot (the Dot's speaker isn't great on its own for music). If you will use it for music, but don't want it connected to a speaker (either via bluetooth or by aux connection), go with the Echo because the Echo has a pretty good sounding speaker. If you'll use it for music, but plan on connecting it to an external speaker, then go with the Dot.

Connecting the Dot to a bluetooth speaker is easy. After the initial pairing, all you have to do in the future is say, "Alexa, connect to bluetooth".

On a side note, the new calling feature that they added is pretty cool. You can even use it as an intercom of sorts between different Dots and Echos throughout your house, as well as calling other people who have a Dot or Echo.

Those things literally listen to your house all the time and the recordings are kept by Amazon and they've been totes dodgy with info on how long they keep them, what they do etc. Don't get me wrong, I shop some Amazon but when the story came out of the murder that requested Alexa recordings to solve it, my maybe I don't want retailers listening in 100% of the time to my house and keeping and doing whatevs radar went up. I think since it's uncharted ground (think when google started) the guidelines or best practices for these things have yet to be established so I'm staying away till then.

On an iPad I didn't notice any changes but now using a PC and Chrome I see the new store and it's awful. The payment options and redeem code pop up doesn't even want to load. Hopefully it gets better but I don't understand not showing wallet balance in the old place.

I heard the fall is really good but it takes them so long to make the sequels I wouldn't be surprised if part 1 is free as a pack in or at least super cheap down the road.

My wife shocked me yesterday with a Playstation VR for my birthday.  I really haven't done much research on the device because I was unclear how much support it would get and it's expensive, but it seems pretty cool.  Any thoughts on whether or not it is worth keeping?  I do own RE7 and I've heard that it's great to play with VR.  But are there any other titles people recommend?

 
Definitely worth keeping, not only for the fact that your wife got it for you for your birthday, but is it truly a great gaming experience.  I have several VR games that I haven't yet tried (no time in my busy schedule) but of the ones I have tried and personally enjoyed, there is Resident Evil 7 like you mentioned, but also Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, The London Heist (part of VR Worlds), Job Simulator, Rez and Holoball.  I would suggest definitely check out some of the discussions and reviews posted in the PS VR Thread.

The first thing to do is either download the Demo Disc or install it from the disc that comes in the box. It has a bunch of demos for various games.

The best stuff I've played on PSVR:

Battlezone - Good tank shooter

Carnival Games VR - The Wii Sports of PSVR

Eve Gunjack - Good turret shooter

Headmaster - Fun heading game with good humor to it

HoloBall - Great tron-meets-racquetball game

Job Simulator - Funny sandbox physics game

Pinball FX2 VR - Good first-person pinball

Polybius - Great shooter filled with Jeff Minter-style madness

Psychonauts in The Rhombus of Ruin - Fun VR adventure game

Race The Sun - Endless runner with nice style and replayability

Superhypercube - Great puzzle game with lots of style

Time Machine VR - Cool time travel adventure game

Trackmania Turbo - The best PSVR racing game that doesn't make me sick

Volume - Awesome top-down MGS VR mission-style stealth game

Wayward Sky - Great puzzle adventure game

Grab all of the free stuff here that isn't in the demo disc above. The video apps are probably the worst stuff since the video quality is bad enough in the ones I've tried that it just sucks.

I played through Carnival Games VR but I have a hard time recommending it. There are twelve different types of games you can play, each one with it's own learning curve. Some will be easier than others, but I found that a great deal of them missed their mark either figuratively and literally. For example, one game has you catching baseballs as they fly towards you at varying degrees of speed and different patterns. Once you get to a certain speed, trying to get a corkscrew is more of a matter of luck than skill.

That's if your arms, shoulder and neck aren't in pain from holding them up, out or flailing them around for an extended period of time. My arms felt like they were going to fall off after playing some of these games more than a few times in a row. Add to that the fact that after you've gotten three stars on each of the games, there last thing you'll have to do is collect a loooooot of tokens to unlock every useless, overpriced item from the gift shop for what will presumably be your final trophy. If you're like me, you'll find yourself playing the same four games (one in each area) over and over again because it's the "easiest" to get tokens on.

I think they missed a lot of potential by not making the rides rideable. There are plenty of great rides shown in the background to the different areas which look completely operational as far as geometry and animations go. It couldn't be very hard on their part to stick a VR camera on each one of them and let people ride them, but we're out of luck as far as that goes.

The only other VR games I played which I didn't mention earlier was:

Hyper Void, which I did find pretty fun, but didn't think really exemplified the VR experience. It was definitely cool in VR, but just doesn't have the same wow! factor as the others I mentioned.

Catlateral Damage, which was horrible in VR. Headset-wise, it was fine enough, but they switched from letting you use the Dualshock to the Move controllers, which meant you couldn't free-move around and were forced to teleport everywhere, and you had to constantly flail the Moves around to knock things over (that didn't want to fall over) with a lot greater effort than it took with a Dualshock. The one negative that they got right, however, is that like a cat, you will get tangled up in the PSVR cable.

I have a main account that i have been using all these yrs for purchases and ps+ etc. However, i will be using a different account to play multiplayer online for now on so that i can use a different psn username.

I just created a new user on my ps4 opening screen and added the new account. However, i see that there is a way to make a child/sub accounts on ps4. Should i have used the child account feature or was it better to just create the new account outright?

What is the best way to handle the ps+ save file cloud situation? I want to earn trophies and play games on my secondary account for now on.

(I can keep the old account for all ps+ renewals and purchases going forward)

Dude, I'm pretty sure if it's a present from your wife, you are not allowed to return it! You have to pretend you like it, even if you don't. :) I'm jealous. I don't have a wife, much less one that gives me neat gaming stuff.

Sometimes items like this can be bought, and the spouse will say if you don't like it return or exchange. I agree in normal situations, it's not a good idea, but it depends on his relationship. If me or my wife spent that kind of change on something, I personally want her to love it, and if not, get something she will. Same for me, as she would only buy me that if I said I wanted it before hand. She wouldn't be to happy to see it collecting dust in a few weeks, so to exchange it get something that will be used isn't always taboo(but it could be, so he should tread lightly). LOL

Just tell your wife the VR makes you sick. Then return it. She'll understand.
 
Does anyone know if people still play Starhawk? Always wanted to try it but didn't get the chance to play it online years ago.

I just played Twisted Metal online for the first time and it was hard to get a game. When I did find one, this truck that is really slow in single player kept ramming everyone and killing everyone in one hit. Makes me wonder if he's hacking or just really good.

I think i'm not really there for those rhythm games anymore. I used to love them when I was younger. My favorites where the Bust a Move (Groove) games.

I'm likely to keep it. Between work and Mother's Day I haven't had the time unfortunately to try it out. But everything I'm hearing is that it's a great experience. My wife is super cool, though. I really lucked out with her. I am sure you will find that really awesome person one day. There are plenty of fish in the sea, as they say. Even ones that are accepting of your CAG self. They're definitely out there.

somewhat off-topic question:

Whats a good deal on a new ps4 controller and where do you guys usually get them? I need one more controller and while frys has them for 40$ this week once shipping and taxes are added it's not much of a deal.
