I'm loving UC4 a lot already, I'm only on Chapter 8 but it's already better than the entire UC3 lol. I did like it, but was my least favorite of the first 3.

[customspoiler='Really don't click on this if don't want to be spoiled on Uncharted 4.']The Crash Bandicoot bit was an amazing surprise.[/customspoiler]
Yes, yes it was. BTW, I need to watch that 30 for 30 about your city. I missed the original airing so I had to DVR it.

Well I just started playing AC: Black Flag that I bought during that AC sale oh so long ago....holy hell this game's good. I'm upset I haven't played it sooner.

Uncharted 4 is one of the best stealth games I've ever played even with the improvements that MGSV: The Phantom Pain made. This is the one stealth game that gets rid of timers, alert statuses, and all that other clunky bullshit that makes every stealth harder to play than they ought to. It feels so natural to mark enemies, move around, take out enemies, and deal with getting caught that it should be a standard for the genre now that most of the big names are out for the count.
I haven't played Uncharted 4 but that sounds exactly like what the Splinter Cell series has done since Conviction. You're right that competing franchises in the genre are out, though, since the latest installment in the Splinter Cell series didn't meet Ubisoft's sales expectations despite selling 2 million copies in three months.

I'm a little disappointed in the Disney Infinity announcement. Sure, that's less figures that I'll have to buy for my kids but Infinity is more fun for me to play with them than Dimensions or Skylanders. I liked being superheroes.
I've always likedoing Skylanders more. Infinity feels so lacking and hollow and beaten too quickly.
Haven't played Lego because I can't afford two collectible figure games let alone 3

I think we're expecting a Flash sale this weekend - are we also expecting any sort of sale for Memorial Day next weekend?  Do we think that the Flash sale will just be delayed for a week?

May 2015 it was on the 3rd Friday, 2014 it was the 1st Friday... so sure it could be this weekend (3rd Friday) but just as likely it could be the next weekend. I'm not expecting it as a definite this weekend.... rather, like all weekends, I'll just pay just enough attention to the forum to make sure I don't miss it if one happens.

I still haven't pulled the trigger on Divinity.... I want it, but I keep telling myself by the time I finish witcher 3 and fallout 4 it will be even cheaper.

I feel the Uncharted 4 story is cheesy classic Uncharted and nothing to write home about although I'm only in chapter 12 so maybe there's a twist or turn that will wow me. Hell, it virtually steals from Mario at the core where it's go to this level, beat it but only to find the treasure is somewhere else, the whole time "racing" someone else there.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun, it looks great and I will continue to play them if they continue to come out but it just doesn't have an epic struggle for life in despair or survival that like a Last of Us had to make me really care about the story as a whole. I feel like I already know what's going to happen too so that's never a good feeling. We'll see.

Were you expecting to be like the last of us? Have you played uncharted before?

So, I'm playing Uncharted 4 and am really impressed how ND nailed the eyes of the main characters. Might sound dumb, but these are the first digital eyes I've seen that look almost real.

The voice acting is stunning, more so than usual with the older games.

That being said, I'm playing on Crushing and am stuck in this hell-hole crossfire section in Chapter 18...

Dude, Uncharted and The Last of Us are totally different types of games. Sure they're made by the same people, but you can't reasonably compare the two.

One is about the human struggle to survive and protect what you love while the other is summer blockbuster treasure hunting

I have some bad news for you: Chapters 19 and 20 are way worse.

505 Games sale incoming.   So likely Brothers, Sniper Elite, Terraria... etc.  No price changes yet... though a lot of their games have been free on PS+.

Beyond that... nothing yet..

I'm in for sniper elite 3 with dlc probably if a decent price

I've passed it up too many times and I loved that game

A bunch of games have showed in the all deals page for what's in the 505 Games publisher sale along with some random Sega games.... also the specific 505 Games sale page now has the games on it with prices.   Probably the most notable interest for me would be Valkyria Chronicles 2 (PSP) for 4.99.

I feel there's a lack of reading comprehension in your interactions here. The point made very clearly was everyone is oohing and ahhing about a story that to me is exactly like Uncharted 3, and 2, and 1 and other games of go save this or get this, oh it's not here, keep going. The comparison to Last of Us is in that for me it had buy in and struggle and a great story.

So again, people said the Uncharted 4 story was amazing. I said it's more of the same and I'm not connected to it.

ehh I really wish the ps4 sniper 3 was cheaper

I'll wait to see if there is a flash sale this friday before buying anything

That's nearly ALWAYS my plan. Usually if there is a flash sale and there is a lot I want I will get some PSN credit over the weekend and either buy then or just take care of it all monday morning before the flash sale ends. Even though I enjoy not spending money, I kind of hope the next flash sale includes a lot of what is on my wishlist.

Battlefield 4 Final Stand expansion for PS3 & PS4 has dropped from $14.99 to free. It shows on the all deals pages. There are also some other old free addons available for both games... this one though appears to be new. If it was reported before, sorry... I'm not just looking at the deals and didn't notice it before.

Wild Arms 3 is all that interests me this week, but I'll wait until the weekend just in case.
I wish Wild Arms 3 had included a Vita version. I would have been pretty interested in getting that at launch.

Witcher 3 is $24.99. Which is perfect, because I neeeaaarly bought it this morning on amazon for $30. I had it in my cart and thought "well, let me see what's on sale today."

Anyone else playing Uncharted 4? I am starting Chapter 6 right now and at this point I just have not fallen back in love with this series. I LOVED UC 1-3 but so far this game has been slow. Like really slow and then when I finally do get some action I am reminded that these games have only decent gunplay. The game looks amazing and I think the story being told is being done better than 99% of the games out there but at this moment I am still a bit bored.

Edit: I will say though I just tried the MP and I am loving that big time. I am glad also because I bought the digital deluxe version for $85 after tax.
While I enjoyed the game, it very much felt like the other entries in the series with very little differentiating it.

In many ways the combat feels like it took a step back to game 1 in bullet sponginess, but the gameplay is still fun. The only problem I have with the game is it left me actually tired by the time I was done with it, like certain parts felt like I couldn't stop to catch my breath or were so over the top unbelievable it was insane.

I do find it hilarious my roommate walked in on me doing a long climbing sequence and said "For once I want to see a game where the platforms and climbing sections are unstable" and I just laughed, he sat down and watched, and quickly took back his words.

Great. So Valkyria Chronicles 2 is available in the Vita store, says vita compatible, but I still can't download it. I think Im going to have to call them. No where on the product page does it say that this is one of the games I need a PS3 to downloaded and install on my vita. The description says PSP AND VITA. What a bunch of crap.

I haven't bought it yet, but it shows fine on the PS Store on my Vita (I'm looking at it right now). Usually stuff that shows on the actual vita has no issue. I wonder if you have some other issue like a network error, storage space, or something requiring a reboot or rebuilding of the database? Can anyone else try this and verify one way or the other?

Finished Uncharted 4, enjoyed it very much, even though every "dramatic" interaction between Nathan and Elena was just a nonstop parade of cliches.

Other than that, I was pleased with how it avoided what I felt would have been the obvious story beats:

- Sam turns out to be screwing over Nate/isn't his real brother (he is lying about something but it's fairly inconsequential and I'm not sure why he bothers anyway

- Sam dies in a noble sacrifice to save Protagonist Nathan Drake

- supernatural enemies in the last quarter

(spoiler-tagging things that don't even happen because some people would have a shitfit about it)

Environments were more open than they have been in the past, too, which I appreciated, and the grappling hook at least gives the illusion of greater freedom of movement. Still too many crate-pushing puzzles, though.

I'm going to research Wild arms 3 & kinetica (I wasn't gaming during the PS2 lifecycle). I am a little disappointed that games aren't coming out at a faster pace, but I also don't have any idea how hard it is to add trophies and emulate games. On the wiki of games coming (take with a grain of salt), ape escape 2 & 3 are TBA, loved the first one.

Wild Arms 3 was one of my favorites on the PS2 FWIW. If you are a fan of RPGs and exploration, you could do a lot worse. It's a unique setting. I feel like it's the kind of game we've been missing since the death of mid-size development houses. AAA won't make a game like it and it would be very ambitious for an indie.

I actually saw the same thing on my vita. It would not let me download and I had plenty of free space. I remember this happening on one of the Dissidia games. Only way I could find to download it was thru the ps3. I downloaded VC2 to my ps3 and then transferred to my vita w/o issue.

Ignoring the PS4 upgrades for Valkyria Chronicles, from a gameplay perspective is VC2 better? I might pickup VC Remastered whenever it gets cheaper, but I wouldn't mind buying VC2 for my PSTV f it's a good game. The only game I've ever played that's close to the style is XCOM Enemy Unknown/Within, so some opinions would be nice.

I didn't particularly like VC2 nearly as much. I didnt care for the smaller team, nor were the characters as likeable. Worth more than $5 for sure though.

I'm loving Uncharted 4. Absolutely loving it. On... chapter 16 or so? I think? Have no idea how many chapters it is, glad I don't.

I also forgot to buy the games i wanted on sale last week. I think that's the first time ever.

I agree... but i had -NO- idea you could mark enemies. Wow. Game changer, and I already loved the game.

I'm playing my first game on Crushing, and certain segments are seriously nice and crushing, just the way I like it.
