I'm pretty sure this is to keep people from screwing themselves over and messing up their saves by transferring stuff around too much. Both for file corruption and for losing track of what save you want and overwriting a newer one with an old one. I'm sure there's also some exploiting you can do with save files by transferring to other players (I recall something related to Borderlands 2 with this).

I really wish Sony would copy Microsoft's cloud saves. I often buy games on Xbox mainly because it's so much easier to move saves between systems.
I prefer the added control of the PS4's cloud save system so I can actually use it as a back-up in case something goes awry with the save.

I forgot that the CE guide came with a code for a dynamic theme, so I'll probably install that one tonight instead. It'd be nice if this reward-for-platting continued for other games.
That was my theme for a solid month or two. Pretty basic bit has a good melancholy tune.

Atlus unboxed the Launch and Disco Fever versions of P4DAN:

I didn't know the Vita sticker/skin was only for the 2000 model. The soundtrack isn't the typical selection of tracks from the actual soundtrack, as it has over 60 songs on two CDs.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night is going to have some free DLC mixed in with all of the paid stuff (full list):

Songs

"Shadow World (De De Mouse Shadow Swing Mix)" - 9/29

"Reach Out To The Truth (Persona Music FES 2013)" - 9/29

Costumes

General Teddie Costume - 9/29

P4G Midwinter Clothes Set - 10/6

P4G Ski Set - 10/20

Featherman Set - 10/27

Accessories

Feather Mask Set - 10/20

I accidentally qouted the wrong post sorry about that. But the premise still remains the same. Look at the deals of the week for us and then check the deals of the week for the uk
wait, you're telling me that given different sales in different regions, one will be better than the other?
This is the first demo I've been excited about/will play in a long time. Very curious to see how this looks and plays on the PS4. Thanks for the heads-up, Frisky!
Is there a way to see if demo saves transfer to full games? For both digital and/or physical?

Looking to get this at launch and I didn't want to waste my time if the save doesn't transfer.

Most demos don't. But this is by Bluepoint and Naughty Dog, so you never know. We'll find out tomorrow.

The Driveclub bundle, is it the full "Driveclub"?  I mean if it doesn't that price doesn't make sense given the fact that PSPlus version of "Drive Club" is free and the season pass is "$12.99".

My video of the game in action if you missed it:
Overall that was really helpful. Thanks for the review and feedback. I think this is probably a pass for me which saved me some cash. The gameplay to me doesn't look like a fun music game. I also don't like the animated backgrounds and how the color pallet of the background obfuscates the actual notes. Is there any way to turn off the backgrounds or tone them down? I loved Gitaroo man which had a full blown story animation going on behind the gameplay, but the gameplay only required focus on the center of the screen as everything flowed to it and the colors for the notes really popped out from the background unlike P4DAN.

Is there any reason I should reconsider? Granted I'm mainly playing on a PSTV anyway... but I can't see how anyone would get exceptionally good at this game even on the small screen without forcing themselves to focus solely on the center of the screen and let their peripheral vision catch the notes and time the button presses but even then the colors would still blend out some notes making them extra hard to catch. It just doesn't seem like the gameplay was well designed.

Man, I wish we just had Gitaroo Man Lives (PSP) available to buy on the US PSN Store. That was such a fantastic music game and the story was well done. At least I have it on my PSP.

Some critical feedback:

The video was a bit hard to watch because of the audio inconsistency/dropout between the mic and game. I felt the need to jump ahead due to this and also I wanted to see some gameplay and there's a lot of "dead" time in the video with talking while flipping up and down the menu. This is just a suggestion but jump to gameplay a lot quicker. I understand not wanting to ruin story mode for anyone, but it probably wouldn't have hurt to show a small few frames of it just as a teaser (either through editing or exiting the mode after a 15 seconds of showing it off).

There is nothing to really transfer over. Maybe if the demo is the first level it would make sense, but if it is some level in the middle of a linear game it would confuse players who buy the game at a later date.

Unrelated, but I am on the edge of my seat wondering what the new ps plus games are going to be. I read an article saying super meat boy is confirmed and AC4 is another possibility.

Disclaimer - i hate rhythm games and I dislike Persona.

That said, I've read a -lot- of reviews of the game, as well as a lot of discussion from people who have played it and the general consensus is that it's pretty damn amazing. If you're into the genre I would definitely reconsider and read some more opinions. I'm not saying it's great; i have no idea -- but the general feeling I got from people who dig the genre was that it was a solid.

Can anyone answer my "Drive Club" question?

The bundle that is $20 or so includes both the game and the season pass.

This is the basis for its design as a Vita game, which is why it's a bit harder on a TV due to your peripheral vision including way more than the TV screen. You're supposed to tune out the backgrounds and focus on the notes themselves.

I didn't have any problems with the animated backgrounds interfering with the notes, as it was pretty easy to follow the notes though it obviously gets tougher on the harder difficulties. I don't think there is any way to turn off the backgrounds, though I wouldn't be surprised if there's a special item that offers that in the Game Settings menu that is full of ?????????????'s at the start of playing Free Mode and unlocking things. I know that there's an item in the store that stops the game from ending combos for "Good" notes, which is such a shitty idea to make that an "upgrade" instead of designing the game better to understand when and how you make mistakes.

Thanks for the feedback. I need to mess the settings to see if I can get rid of that mic drop stuff since it's supposed to keep it from recording non-essential audio, but I guess it affects my audio when I'm not loud all of the time. The story mode thing was part of the embargo for getting the game early, as I would have risked a Youtube strike from Atlus Japan if I included any parts of the story mode in it. That's why I went into more detail in the review itself to better cover the story while not spoiling anything major about it.

Probably been covered, but is Heroes of Loot worth the $2.39 for PS Plus users?
haven't played it yet, but bought it. it's a dual stick shooter / dungeon crawler. it has mobile roots, so feels 'mobile' but i've read it plays best on vita thanks to buttons [who knew?]. basically, if the game itself sounds good to you, 2.39 is worth it. easy pickup for me, especially at that price.

This seem to be the right thread but anyway a user on GAF (shanafan) inputed a Pick one of the four games from that PS4 Bundle for Destiny and ended up getting a download for TTK. Now the user already had the DLC before hand, so could potentially give you TTK if you never bought anything before.

Went ahead and bought it. Might also pick up both Batman PS3 games since they're both $10 each without DLC on Xbox Live this week.

Maybe... but I got a new PS3 this week, and going to my transaction history, it told me I'd bought Destiny: The Taken King last year in September! (I own none of the DLC - and playing yesterday/today confirms that I've got the original Destiny that has been completely gimped in the wake of TTK's release.)

So I think it's probably just that Destiny Vanilla is no longer for sale on the PSN store, and has been replaced with Destiny: TTK. (That would also explain the 8.8GB "update" I had to download...)

Has Sony ever fully addressed the disc eject issue? All I've seen is unplug it for a couple minutes and plug it back in. This didn't work until I waited like half an hour last night

Just slide off the shinny plastic cover, and there is one screw you'll need to unscrew to take the disc out. Youtube it.

I LOVE music games with a passion. But not all music games make the cut. I can keep my mind open though, if the gameplay is really good with P4:DAN I'll eventually have to play it. The Persona stuff isn't enough to sell me on it alone. I like the Persona (and SMT) games but my real RPG passion is for Dragon Quest.

Good to hear. Now I'll have to reconsider this, though at the moment my eye has wondered over to Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd. There's a sale on Amazon for prime members to get the vita version for $20. I'm not a prime member anymore but the resellers that have their stock at Amazon's distribution center sell it for about $0.50 less anyway, so even better. I have never played one of those games but I watched a gameplay review of it and even though the notes jump in from all directions and whatnot, the actual rhythm game looked like something I might enjoy.

The story mode thing was part of the embargo for getting the game early
Ah, that makes sense. I hadn't even considered what kind of embargo you might have been under.

Probably been covered, but is Heroes of Loot worth the $2.39 for PS Plus users?
I posted feedback on the original iOS version a page or two ago in a spoiler tag in case folks weren't interested in feedback. Short answer, no.

More detailed answer:

The gameplay is the same between the iOS, Android, PC and Vita versions. It is a super basic roguelike focused solely on highscores. The random level generation gets repetitive quickly. Leveling up the dungeon is handled in a fairly unique way but future games start out harder and harder which ultimately cripples the experience and makes game length very uneven. For example, game 1 you may make it to say the 15th level and the game will increase in difficulty 4 times. The next game starts out at the 4th difficulty level but you will be lucky to make it 5 levels deep. There is a character unlock dependent upon getting many levels deep into the game but the best way to get that (on iOS) is to get good at the game then delete it and reinstall to start the game save over and actually have a chance at getting far enough. The random missions are very simplistic (kill 10 of these, save 5 of those) but the game often makes the missions incomplete-able as the random level generator may not even offer enough of whatever it is you need to complete the task in the time required. The rewards aren't that great anyway, thus making the missions pointless. Later games require a lot of luck by the random shops and so on to acquire the right items to even survive the later enemies... which means a lot of wasted games where you may play perfect but can't proceed because of bad luck by the level generator. Ultimately it's not worth playing since the main long term goal is just getting a better score which is ultimately luck based. But the gameplay is nothing remarkable anyway.

The only thing worth praising is the silly characters which make fun of themselves and the situation they are in. But that charm wears of pretty quickly once you really dig deep into the game and realize there's not much to it at all.

Really? I'm a huge fan of the genre and most of what I have read was more middling. That the whole package is nice but setting aside the Persona stuff that it's an average rhythm game at best. Either way I've cooled enough that I'll wait for a sale when Project Mirari is really excellent.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was well worth the $5.99 I paid during the PSN sale several months ago. Good game, but wouldn't pay a penny more for it.

Know that more could come, but wow especially for PS+ "specials", sales 30% or lower discounts on most of that is pretty pathetic.

If you're expecting 80%+ off for games that released within the past two or three months, you'll be disappointed the vast majority of the time.
