I love Uncharted 1 and 2 but reviews of the Drake collection that pretend there was nothing wrong with Uncharted 3 trigger me

I was excited to try out the Terrorist Hunt mode in the Rainbow Six Seige beta, but it was kind of easy. Maybe it's just a result of trying it out at the end of the beta test period with the rabid fans and maybe needing to try out the highest difficulty, but we lost nobody in my first two games and they were over in less than 10 minutes. It was nowhere close to the tense rounds we'd have with Vegas and its sequel where your best bet was to camp and wait for the AI to wander out to you.

No, liking Uncharted 3 is a symptom of objectively awful taste. You are wrong. If it HAD been more Uncharted 2 it would have been perfect. But it wasn't. It was the charmless straight to video sequel of Uncharted 2. The phone-it-in Hollywood nonsense sequel. The Mummy Returns where Rick O'Connell is suddenly a Medjai all ALONG even when that makes absolutely no sense considering how he knew nothing about it back in Mummy 1.

Uncharted 3 is a fine game apart from the usual problems of Uncharted's enthusiastic embrace of regenerating health and all the weaknesses therein (standard to the series.) but the plot was atrocious and threadbare. And if you think that's how Uncharted is supposed to be I HATE YOU SO DAMN MUCH.

That huge Rock Band sale that's been going on the the past couple of years is supposed to end on Tuesday. The individual songs ended early once they switched them over to the Cross Buy versions, but the packs are still on sale. There are $10 albums that include a bunch of songs down to some $3 packs with three songs in them.
I know this is the PSN thread but when did this start and is this also happening on XBLA? I'm only interested in the pop, R&B and hip-hop tracks so I rarely look at what's on offer for Rock Band but these prices are decent.

You really seem to overact badly to things for some odd reason. Uncharted 3 was a fine game and still one of the best games out there. Try and relax a bit.

The sale or the songs becoming Cross Buy? The sale started about three years ago and ends on Tuesday for the packs. Them being Cross Buy starting this weekend so people getting RB4 could download them early to get ready for launch day.

Thanks for the info. I've only had home internet since last year which is why I'm out of the loop.

I didn't hate it that much but it sure was a weak follow-up to UC2. The second game was nonstop action and story, I couldn't put it down. UC3's pacing was really ruined by the hallucination and dream sequences, along with the flashbacks. It's still a better game than most of the shit people pay $60 for, but it was a disappointment after UC2.

Damn all this Uncharted talk is making it harder for me to pass up the Collection on Friday. I've only played half of UC2 and none of 3. Some PS3 fanboy I am.

Yeah, Uncharted isn't so much about the plot as it is about the characters.   They get the characters so perfect... it just feels like a new modern take on Indiana Jones.   Sully and Nate legitimately feel like they've known each other forever.

But the plot?  I mean, it's Indiana Jones stuff.   Fun over depth.  I'm not saying they're bad [I Love them] but acting like 3 is bad or something blows my mind.   PS - i liked the flashbacks.

I'm just gonna say I absolutely adored uncharted 2. But 3? Ehhh not so much. 1 was ok, liked the characters and setting but the gameplay was rough.

2 > 3 >> 1

3 is objectively worse than 2, but not a bad game. It just couldn't compare to the quality that was 2.

I was really impressed by Uncharted 1 and was super disappointed by 2 after all the hype it got. I didn't actually finish either of them though. The shooting just got boring and tedious after awhile.

I always wanted to go back to those games though, so the collection is tempting to me.

I won a ps4 from Taco Bell, but since I already have one, I'm going to sell it to a friend. I'm still unsure if I want to include the 1 year of psplus and the Uncharted collection that it comes with for the price I offered him. I think the collection is a disc, not a download, so we could potentially share it I guess.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/05/free-halloween-items-coming-to-rocket-league/

Rocket League is offering a number of ree Halloween-themed items that will drop post-match from 10/18 to 11/2. If you miss them, you'll have to wait until next year for another chance to grab them. The next DLC pack is also coming out near a bit earlier on 10/13 for $3.99.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/05/playstation-now-celebrate-shocktober-with-13-new-subscription-games/

The PlayStation Now subscription is getting 13 new games for "Shocktober" that includes games like The Last of Us: Left Behind, Deception IV: Blood Ties, Slender: The Arrival, Costume Quest 2, and more. The total library for subs will surpass 150 with these additions.

i think uncharted 2 is the worst in the series

the story was basically copy and paste from the 1st game, and it lacked the twists and epic moments in uncharted 3

For fans of Mecho Wars (a quality Advance Wars clone), the other game the dev has, "Desert Ashes" which is free has the two dlc expansions on sale for $0.50 each.  Not bad at all.  Figured I'd note it since I didn't see it in the OP.

....

Are there new bundles about to drop for the Vita?  I've noticed that walmart.com doesn't have any Borderland 2 bundles and Amazon itself is awaiting systems though thankfully resellers still have some in Amazon's shipping warehouses.   Gamestop only has them for local sales but the closest store with one is over 60 miles away from me and frankly I don't trust Gamestop with moving stuff between stores (if that's even possible).

Europe is getting two new bundles this month... seems like we gotta be due for one soon.   Though I'm not against getting Borderlands 2, I wouldn't mind other options if they are available.

If it actually had an ending or a final boss that wasn't somehow worse than QTE man from Uncharted 1, I could almost forgive it. But the previous Uncharted games made sense. They had good narrative pacing almost everything that happened happened for a reason. Several huge segments in Uncharted 3 were completely pointless from top to bottom and a couple make absolutely no narrative sense at all. Even new Tomb Raider Lara Suffering Edition doesn't come close to the narrative consistency of Uncharted 2 (But nowhere close to the absurdity of Uncharted 3.)

Indiana Jones stuff isn't fun over depth either, you numbskull. There's a reason why they are classics and why the dozens of copy cats are not remembered.

Now of course to be fair, even a mediocre outing of Drake and Sully's manly broventures is better than the average game by miles but that's not saying much in a field where we pretend Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect 2 and 3 are riveting stuff. Hell, the puzzle in Uncharted 3 was quite clever, if memory serves.

You guys take RollingSkull's bait so easily.

That giant wall of images needs a spoiler tag or something.
If I'm baiting why am I the one getting trolled hard.

Also the deal on it is nearly up but Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 is the best Samurai Warriors 4 family game out there. It's worth it at that price.

Another, so you already won one. Give the ones that eat there a chance. My stomach is punishing me for eating there. I'll give it two more chances before I give up.
No, I paid for mine. Never won one. My post was just nonsense- -I wish TB would give me another PS4.. but I don't eat there.

Will buy.

Yes, there are many reasons they are classics. Harrison Ford's cockiness. Fantastic, memorable scenes like the duel. Over the top action. A solid mix of action and comedy that is appealing to almost anyone.

Plot? You could have replaced the Nazi's with space aliens and it would still have been fantastic. Oh... wait.

PS --I remember Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold just fine. It was terrible.

You pretty much nailed it, the game is fun but it feels like most of Naughty Dog's games in story...a knockoff of most famous American movies or Japanese platformers.

Doing an original story is NOT Naughty Dog's strong suit but neither is it for Rockstars GTA3 which felt like a knockoff of "Goodfellas". These western companies should pay a shit ton for the storywriters, to incentivize them NOT to write scripts for a Hollywood movie but a video game instead. I mean this isn't Japan where the only competition to Hollywood movies are Animes and video games so that's where you go as a storywriter. Please don't say there's an real competition with Japanese movies. While I like them they just can't afford to do what Hollywood does given the lack of land comparatively for studio space.

God only knows what it costs in Japan for use to pay a place for its space for shooting, especially if it's a well trafficked open space. Anywhere like Shibuya, Harajuku, etc. you better open your wallets big.

Rockstar grafts the theme and feel of the movies they are trying to ape but since GTA4, and I would almost argue going back to Vice City they've been filling them with their nonsense hyperactive stream of conciousness childish nihilism. That includes RDR and Max Payne 3 but I would argue Bully was the outlier, as was Warriors, but in Warriors they leashed themselves to better creative minds... or at least less coked up creative minds.

Any word on how Rock Band 4 works with getting pre existing DLC tracks carried over?
Go to the game's page on the PS4 and they have all of the DLC listed on there, so work your way through it and purchase everything that's free that is the stuff you own due to its Cross Buy support. Not everything is ready yet, but it seems like most of it's there now.

I must admit I found Bully quite fun.

You just nailed it though, ape. I don't want a game trying to feel like a well known movie. I'm not sure if it's an original story but the story for "Yakuza" I much prefer over GTA. Honestly I find the combat fun as can be, what with the "Heat" moves.

Heck I kinda like Saints for a story over GTA. Yeah, it's goofy as fuck but it's having fun and feels somewhat original or it's original enough for what it borrow with how it goes off-rails at times.

edit: What's funny as hell about Yakuza is I think it could possibly be more successful on the Xbox, at least here. I think fans would eat it up like crazy.

thanks to whoever reminded us about Desert's Ashes (Free game, part 2 and 3 are dlc) being on sale for $1 (each dlc expansion is 50 cents).

i haven't played it yet but iirc the other game the dev did was a nice advance wars type game and so is this, so for a buck i can't go wrong.  in before the price change, thankfully.
