all ruined by the fact the game is stone cold easy and there is never a point at which you can't just hold X to win and ignore all the cool features they built above, turning the game into a dreadful auto-grind. Li,e you don't even need to use skills, let alone combos, etc... just hold x for basic attack. That's it. For hours and hours.
Not true, but ok.

I'd rather slit my wrists than try to take on a MonHun-grind themed Casualvania like HoD and shame on you all for enjoying it.

I may be stupid as hell but I've always enjoyed Bloodrayne 1 and 2. Betrayal was a hot mess though. Dracula X Chronicles is sexy even without the archetype grindvania SotN, but it is included (As a late game unlockable secret.)

Just remember its down the street not across the street.

Has Anyone played the DMC 4 Special Edition Remake for PS4? If So is it worth getting for the 14 or so its on sale for?

Also is Grim Fandango worth it for 6? Thoughts? Thanks

Haven't played it on PS4 but it is perfectly fine on PC except until that creeping realization hits that you're still playing DMC4 and not a GOOD DMC game.

Really, Vergil, Lady, and Trish are all decent fun to play but they're all so freakishly OP you may as well be playing Basara. Nero and Dante are more or less untouched, there's no story for the new guys, and there's nothing changed to fix DMC4's terrible-ass campaign. But, again, it's still DMC so it's not like it's unplayable. Absolutely worth it if you aren't bothered by the fact that you'd have to play DMC4 again.

For what it's worth, red orbs, blue orbs, secret missions, items, and proud souls are shared between all three sets of chars (Dante/Nero, Vergil alone, and the girls.) so grinding one helps grind them all, and you can unlock difficulties for all characters just by beating it as one, but that only gets you Chapter 1 of that difficulty for every character so you still have to do the playing on each character to get all the stages on level select.

Or you could just play Bloody Palace which fixes 70% of the problems with DMC4 in trade for a few others.

Maybe I should buy some of these PS1 and PS2 games in hope that they'll be on PS4 soon. I do want RE2, RE3, and Siren.

On the second question, I'd say it's worth it if you know what you're getting into. Grim Fandango is a classic of the late 90s PC adventure game era, mainly for its great story, music, vibrant game world, humor, characters, and voice acting. It also has some of the typical late 90s PC adventure game trappings, though, with some semi-obscure puzzles that will probably have you looking for a walkthrough here and there...and the interface can be a bit clunky at times. Still a great game if you're playing for the experience/story.

Maybe a dumb question here. I don't have PS+, but have a code for a free month that came with Destiny TKK. If I redeem it, do I get to reap the juicy discount benefits for a month, or am I excluded because it's just a trial?

Not true, but ok.
Sure it is. I have the plat. I never (ok, maybe extremely rarely? I sure don't remember doing so) used a skill nor positioning during the entire game, except applicable tutorials. I didn't even use skills for bosses except maybe the occasional heal, but iirc i used items for that. If there was usage I'm remembering it's so rare as to not change my point -- i autobattled the entire game. A fight or two where I might not have doesn't really change that.

Does anyone have a spare quarter - 3 dimes more precisely? I want to buy Rocket League DLC - Revenge of the Battle-Cars but only have $3.71 / $3.99.

Bloody flash sale wiped out my wallet. Oh well...

Yes, you'll get the discounts, and keep the games you pay for even after the month expires.

I might pick up Catherine. I want to get Persona 3 Portable, but I just wrapped up P4G and probably won't get to it before it goes on sale again for cheaper. Atlus just loves to put their games on sale.

Was hoping for a Halloween sale price on Outlast. Nice. After that purchase, I will need to spend about $25 more to hit the $100 for $15. What else to buy?

I know there are a few different versions of this (or the games it includes). Is this the one to get?
While the remake itself I thought was nowhere near as good, it has an unlockable of the original and Symphony of the Night, one of my favorite games ever. So yes, this is the one to get.

Catherine is easily in the top 5 of my favorite PS3 games. Probably even top 3.

Capcom confirmed that RE2 is getting the ol HD Remaster job and it should be out early 2016. Personally, I'm jumping on that Day 1. If you've waited a couple decades to play it, I'd recommend waiting another 6 months or so.

Actually, I think that's a bit mixed up. Resident Evil 2 is supposed to be getting the full HD remake job (like they did with RE1 -> REmake) and is just entering development. The HD remaster of Resident Evil 0 is the one due out in early 2016.

D'oh, should have seen this coming, but I bought Catherine too early. Seems like a good price for Castlevania, though, and the PS2 titles are reasonably priced.

the remake won't be out for years

still the PS1 version should be played, saying you should wait for the remake is like saying don't watch alfred hitchcock's Psycho just because the remake with vince vaughn is almost the same scene for scene aside from the unnecessary masturbation seen

For anyone into casual games (or with kids), the Frozen Fever Snowball Fight freemium match 3 game seems to have just removed the timed life limit with its latest patch, so you now get unlimited lives in single player mode without having to wait for them to refill.

Still freemium, though, with some levels being really difficult to pass without powerups, which can either be bought at ridiculous prices or earned through daily rewards or rewards for getting so many stars in the game (oddly enough, the patch gives you infinite lives, but you can still get now-pointless extra lives as rewards)...  But I made it past level 100 without spending money, so it's doable.

Balls. Was hoping Corpse Party would come up for sale again since i missed it a few weeks ago. Ah well

Hm, nice price for GrimGrimoire. It's a vanillaware game though not as action-y as the rest. More like a strategy game. Gorgeous art as usual.
Hell, i have it for PS2 and never opened it. For $1.50 i may as well get the digital ps3 version and just keep mine sealed =P

In. Finally a price I can bite on.

PS plus rumor came from this site. Found EU had BF Hardline listed as free for ps plus. This is same reason people though AC4 was going to be free for ps plus, but we know how that turned out. So take it with a grain of salt since it is just an image found.

http://www.product-reviews.net/2015/10/19/ps-plus-november-2015-free-games/
The DLC for Harmony is where they get you. Each of the extra characters is $2.99 each. I will probably buy them all.

I know there are a few different versions of this (or the games it includes). Is this the one to get?
Yes. It's a remake of Rondo of Blood and includes a port of SotN.
I'm going to counter EldritchOnRye's response, both this and the standalone Castlevania SoTN are solid... but the PSP game will only play on PSP & VIta. It will not play on PSTV or PS3 and it's a lot more likely that the PS4 would get PS1 BC before it ever got PSP compatibility. So it depends on what you want to play it on. For the big screen, the standalone PS1 SoTN is where it's at as it'll play on PSP, Vita, PSTV & PS3. So lots of options.

That said, Dracula X Chronicles is a good buy at this price no question. The only downside is if you want to play SotN, you have to play a few levels of Rondo Of Blood first and know the specific place to go to unlock it. Not that it's ever a downside to play some more Castlevania.

...

Grabbed a $50 card last night. About to load up my cart with games. Gonna wait till Week 2 of the sale is revealed before diving into non-sale games to possibly hit the $100 mark. There are a few oddball games I want to play again like Um Jammer Lammy that I don't mind paying full price on. Oh and I'm hoping for some PS1 Darkstalkers games... or at least the PSP game to go on sale. I want one of them for my vita.

Oh, that's right. Still though, I imagine RE2 will be out sometime in 2016. Aside from SFV, what else is Capcom working on?

I wouldn't compare a potentially amazing remake with a terrible remake of a movie that's already out. Plus, the person has waited this long. I still say wait for the remaster.

Anyone wanting RE2 or RE3 to play them... might as well get the PS1 versions.   I mean you could wait a year or two or whatever for updated versions that take 20x or more the space and cost 10x the price and don't play on anything but PS4 (maybe PS3 also)... or just get these while on sale for $2 each and have a plethora of systems to play them on handheld and console and play em now.

Plus you can still buy the future releases then and re-enjoy the games again.

I played the original RE maybe 3 times on the PS1, again on the Gamecube with REmake, and then again on the PS3 with the classics version. I guess you just have to like the game enough. Recently replayed the 2nd one because I came across an N64 copy, and will surely replay it again when the updated version releases.

At $2 it's basically the cost of an overpriced bottle of water. Just get it, and if it turns out you don't want it, pour it out (delete it). But the reward severely outweighs the risk at this price.
