If you're a Sony Rewards member, check your e-mail for an invite to take a survey.

You get a $10 Amazon gift card for participating (instantly after completion) and the survey is pretty quick and easy. Mainly asks about credit card usage.

Title of the e-mail is "Participate in Sony Research for a $10 Amazon Gift Card".

Will def. be buying Nightmare Princess at that price.  Also, I'm considering "DOA: LR Ultimate Package".  How does it feel, in terms of costumes?  What am I looking at in raw numbers compared to vanilla and per character.

Any comments for or against Deception 4 PS4?
It's quite good if having medieval mans and womans chase you into traps you set sounds up your alley. Not a great game but it was one of the reasons I got a PS4 even though it is also on Vita and PS3.

All the girls are incredibly hot too for what it's worth.

Unlikely. Season 2 has been out on disc for some time and Season 1 had 400 Days with it from the get go. This seems to be a whole side series.
Nope, season 1 didn't have 400 days from the start. Thats what pissed me off. I bought it on xbox and ps3 then months later they released a 'complete' version with 400 days with it. Im concerned they will do the same thing with this. Though if its like 3 eppisodes as a few people have mentioned then maybe not?

Blea. I may just hold off and see. I notice season 2 is free on PS4 this month. Is that cross buy? I have a save on PS3 but not PS4. I could just play that if it is while im waiting

You're right, I didn't realize there was an initial release on PS3/360.

I can't see a repeat of Season 1 TWD with 400 days then showing up later.  Isn't that the only time that has happened with one of these series?  Especially since I'm sure they realize Michone will sell more full priced copies all on her own.  I just hope they do a vita port once all the episodes are out.  As a reader of the comics, I'm really interested in this specific time frame as it's not covered in the comics.

Unlike XBL, PS+ rarely goes on sale. Your best current bet is to wait for black friday to see if anyone has a special. If you need it before then pay the price, it is worth it. On a side note, there are deals out there not specific to PS+ where you can get credit or gift cards or whatever and use that towards PS+... but those you'll have to dig through the site for or figure out on your own. Similarly if you are a Pro or regular Gamestop shopper and have bought a lot of stuff then the points add up and can be redeemed for PSN credit or coupons off stuff. So that is an option. But to my knowledge there are no specific PS+ deals going on and we still may have a week or so before the Black Friday ads are known to see if there is an option that way.
Yeah I was planning on getting one discounted on Black Friday but I've taken a look through BFAds and most of the threads on here and haven't really seen anything. Have you (or anyone else) happened to come across a decent PS+ deal. I can't really find much better than $18 for 3 months or $50 for the year.

Walmart's going to have $10 for 3 months. That's it so far.

Remember two years ago when everyone laughed at those of us buying multiple years at $30 because surely it would be that price every year now that it's required for PS4?
You mean the thing that you keep reminding people of and I wasn't actually involved with? Yes, I do remember. I also remember picking up a year for $35 last year out of a random Rakuten promo, so you never know what sale might suddenly pop up to get it at an equivalent price again.

Oh I only noticed the games for the Walmart ad, thanks for the heads up! Looks like I'll be grabbing a year's worth since it doesn't seem like I can find them on sale too often.
There's a limit per customer. Most likely 1, but it's too blurry to tell in the current scan.

I hadn't played a Deception game in years, but I loved Nightmare Princess. I picked it up on the Vita during a previous sale and was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was.

I'm a bit of a lapsed Dynasty Warriors fan, but I L-O-V-E-D the first Dynasty Warriors Empires game with stratagem cards and alliances. But the future iterations felt kind of lackluster. Is Empires 8 good? Or if I want a DW fix, would I be better of with 8XL?

Oh, thanks, didn't realize that they put clearer scans up.

So basically $40 for a year of PS+...not great, but better than nothing.
Yeah, or you can get 5 and consider it a buy one year get 3 months free. This will be one of the things I go for on BF.

Looks like really walmart and gs will be my main stops thus far. GS for the buy 2 get 1 on used games (gonna expand my vita collection). Walmart for PS+, $35 PS4 Phantom Pain, $10 sandisk 32gig micro sd drives, and a few things for around the house and maybe other games.

...I just realized that my PS+ is set to expire next week, before the sale.

I don't suppose there are any of those cheap 1-week codes floating around that are still active, are there?

I've not done this myself, but from everything I read you can let PS+ expire next week and then resubscribe in two weeks and all the past PS+ games that you previously purchased (for free) will be playable again. Just during that middle time you won't be able to play those games or play online with PS4.

Quick question - does the 20% off PSN discount code that came with my new PS4 stack on top of the PSN sale prices?
It should work without issue. It's a good way to maximize the coupon's usefulness... however if you plan to buy any higher priced games not on sale sometime after this sale and the amount of your current cart is fairly low then it might save you more money in the long run to wait.

Yeah you'll get all your games back (makes a mess of your download list though).
I already knew that, what I'm concerned about are the cloud saves.

I normally don't do PS Plus, but I guess I could give it a try for $10/three months. (I'd mainly be in it for the savings though; I'll use it when I want to make a big purchase.)

I did some searching at everything I read said they keep saves for 6 months before deleting. And even then there were people that went longer and found their saves were still there when they resubscribed. So You should be safe. But a simple solution for this... download all your saves back to your systems. Some games like Minecraft may have bigger saves due to the game world and what not... but most game saves are pretty tiny.

Ill be the first to ask, but has anyone received their $15 PSN promotion credit yet? I know we have until the 15th, but Im just asking around. Does Sony usually wait to the very last day to give back any promotional credit back?

Usually takes until the very last minute for them to go out.

I know everyone is waiting for a sale but Until Dawn is really, really good. I don't think I would recommend it as a blanket recommendation but for anyone who looks at the idea it is offering and thinks that sounds cool, the execution is very good.

At this point I would consider it on the GotY shortlist just to get something that isn't "big empty grindy sandbox" on that list but the one thing it can still do to make me hate it is have a lousy ending so I'll report on the ending quality before I make a pronouncement.

Bloodborne.

But yes, I'm excited to eventually get my hands on Until Dawn. $25 is about where I want it to be though.... maybe less, but only because my backlog is just absurd at this point.

Just to follow up answering this yesterday, that it's 6 months for cloud saves.... I tracked down a more official answer:

http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Forum-Frequently-Asked-Questions/PlayStation-Plus-FAQ/td-p/37512373

"

Q: If I leave Plus and come back, will by Online Game Saves still be there as I left them?

A: Yes. If your Plus membership lapses and you had game save data in the ONline Game Save storage for Plus, it will all be there when you come back to Plus. Of course, this data can be transferred locally to your HDD at anytime as well, but you must have your Plus access to do so.

"

So the official word is there isn't a time frame, but every other source sites 6 months that they will keep the saves (and that is a minimum).

So saves should be completely safe if you let PS+ lapse for a week or two... but really it wouldn't be such a bad thing to just download all the saves locally during that time anyway.

...

As for a flash sale... there's nothing I could find to support past sales happening earlier than Black Friday in November. So fat chance, though weirder things have happened with sales.

Bloodborne GotY but Rocket League is a close 2nd.

Pocket God Vs Desert Ashes...

FEEDBACK

I gave this some time last night on my Vita and wanted to just report back here so those curious about the game would know if it's worth their $1 or not.  If you are familiar with and a fan of Advance Wars or the dev's past games Mecho Wars and Desert Ashes, and you like/love them then Pocket God Vs Desert Ashes falls right in line with that formula.  Even if you aren't familiar with those games, it's a really solid turn based strategy game.  It has restricted map based locations and the game will step you through the basics with the intro levels.  The object on most maps ultimately becomes capturing the enemy base by moving an infantry type unit on it and choosing the option to capture it.  There are a good variety of allies to recruit/make for cash and a good flow to capturing buildings to make more cash to get better allies to take down the enemy.   It's a little bit chess & a little bit risk with a quirky story thrown in to provide a little purpose to the battles.  There's no grinding to level up stuff like Disgaea, pieces are more chess like in having all their stats preset.  So the game at the core is pure strategy.  You don't worry about losing troops, just about the best way to get a victory.  The quicker you can accomplish that with the least loss the better, but a win is ultimately a win even if you lose most of your forces in the process.

For a buck, get it if you even remotely like turn based strategy games... especially if you like the Advance Wars classic formula of battle.  It definitely scratches that itch.

Granted I'm not through with the single player side of things yet (they say it's 10 hours), but what I played was all excellent and it fills the void Advance Wars left behind.

Just be aware that it doesn't let you download the saves if you don't have the game installed.

http://na.square-enix.com/us/blog/life-strange-limited-edition-announcement

Square Enix is releasing a retail version of Life is Strange on 1/19/16 along with an LE that includes the game, full soundtrack, a 32 page artbook, and director's commentary. $40 for the LE and $30 for the regular edition. I might be up for the LE for the bonus stuff.
Must buy for Director's commentary. I wish Capcom would get their heads out of their asses and greenlight "Remember Me 2". The original had it's flaws but it's damn good as a first time effort from a studio and Capcom was idiotic, despite sales, not to give it another go.

On another note, aren't we suppose to get the $15 from last month on the 15th for spending $100 last month at PSN store?

I only asked about the flash sale because I've literally had my ps4 for a month now and I don't know how the market place updates yet btw...
Typical flash sales are middle of the month Jan->October. Sometimes it's the second Friday ... sometimes the third... it really depends to some degree on other sales and what the month looks like. November & December are typically Black Friday and the Friday nearest Christmas Day. This year it should be Christmas Day as it's a Friday. Flash sales are great but also the Tuesday Week Long sales and special multi-week sales are good too. There are a number of them that seem to repeat yearly... but they are pretty easy to follow since you only need to check once a week for them.

I only asked about the flash sale because I've literally had my ps4 for a month now and I don't know how the market place updates yet btw...
Store updates on Tuesday. Any previous sales come down in the morning, and new sales/items go up sometimes between then and [generally] 2pm PST. Weekly sales can be anything from a few games to a relatively big named or unnamed sale.

Named sales are generally annual and we usually know when they are coming. Then tend to be bigger than the rest, but that isn't a given.

Flash sales generally happen once a month and start on Fridays. Again, usually up by 2pm PST. We never really know when, we can only guess -- though there are often leaks... sometimes we'll see banners go up either in the US or in the few other countries that seem to have synced flash sales.

There's also three relatively new things at play:

1) Pretty much all sale items used to have an additional ps+ discount. Now, it seems like they section off ps+ discount prices and there is a bit more variance -- that is, more games on sale don't have ps+ discounts, and more games w/o regular sales do have ps+ discounts.

2) They recently started allowing things to release on days other than Tuesdays.

3) Somewhat related, every few months we may get to vote on ps+ games. This only happened once so far but assuming they were happy with the results it's expected to repeat.

There you go!
