If you want to get in to traditional Final Fantasy games it's probably the best jumping in point. 13 isn't for everyone, 12 is nearly as divisive, and the PS1 games are kind of dated in some ways. X holds up reasonably well I think.

I bought it. Found out the full game is for the PS4 only and the DLC is for both system. Do not bother with it.

Wait, so it says that it's crossbuy yet the actual game only works on PS4? Wow, I was so excited to get that and the Doctor Who dlc that came out today, but now I don't even know what to think.

Also, does anyone know when or how we receive the 10% off code from the purchases of those specific games that came out about 10 days ago? I hope I didn't just dream that up.

It is listed as a bundle set in the PS3 section and does say

"One-time license fee for play on account’s designated primary PS4™ system and other PS4™ systems when signed in with that account. This account may download item to up to 2 PS3™ systems activated with this Sony Entertainment Network account."

That is why it is confusing. Due to the fact it is implied cross buy when it is not..

The DLC is Cross Buy. The game never was Cross Buy and that bundle doesn't change anything.

The DLC is the only part of it that is Cross Buy, which is why I list it as a PS4 game/bundle. If you asked instead of buying it first, I'd have pointed that out ahead of time.

To cover both aspects:

Well if you made the decision to buy it instead of continuing to wait then that's your fault.

The developers make the game and that's about it. The publisher controls it in every other aspect and are the ones who didn't want to put it on sale previous times.

Anyway, it doesn't make sense to put the game on sale on its other platforms, leave one platform conspicuously absent, then later put that one on sale. There's no way I could have logically predicted that.
 
I want FFX/X2 but I've already played both at 200 hours each....and I still have 6 to finish and then 3,5,7,8,9 and 0 to play since I bought those first.

I should just wait.  Curse you sales!

 
How is the Talos Principle? I just got a PS4 and this seems right up my alley. Is it a good buy at $25?

Caved and just bought FFX/X-2 Vita at full price. Like others were saying I could have bought physical cheaper, but I wanted it digital. Pill is easier to swallow knowing I used some of the credit I got for 25% off, but if it goes on sale anytime soon I'm gonna be salty, seeing as I waited 8 months without seeing a sale for it.

I just noticed that Dark Cloud was on PSN. Not sure when this happened.. has it ever gone on sale? I see that Parappa is half off and that's a PS2 game. I wonder if that means Dark Cloud could be discounted soon, too.

Not sure about your math given about 9/10 people blame Sony for the prices publishers set. Frisky has to correct 7 of those people a week, and the rest of us pick up the slack for the other two.

Are the pack-ins for the Batman game worth anything? The skins, Scarecrow and Harley Quinn missions? I got them in my BB and digital copies, don't know if they are worth anything trade fodder-wise.

 
Nice to see some PS1 classics on sale. After Echo Night was on sale last week, I was hoping Shadow Tower would be cheap this week. And it was! I also got Tron Bonne and Xevious.

I'm not terribly far into the game yet, but so far I would say the puzzles have all been pretty fair.
 
Galak-Z is freaking awesome. Well worth the $12 sale price. And, yes, it's difficult but honestly not near as bad as I thought it would be (so far). Great controls, cool 80s sci-fi anime vibe. Snap it up if you are even remotely interested in it.

Galak-Z is outstanding but it does not get hard in the slightest until Episode 4. Episode 4 slams the difficulty into hyperdrive and I don't really think in a good way. To me, it stops being fun at Episode 4. Up until then, you had some crazy, tense, swashbuckling asteroids space rogue action.

At Episode 4, every single mother fuck er has 30+ shields and even more health. You do not. That's the point. So now the entire game just becomes camp a lot because you cannot afford to take damage. Their shields take as long to recharge as yours so the hide or try to blast from off screen playstyle becomes king. You can't play it stealth because you don't get cash for upgrades without blasting enemies.

I played on PC and it's good fun. PC already has Arcade Mode which allows you to retry a mission midgame. This FEELS like a crutch compared to the main mode which insists you do all 5 missions in one go for each episode, with a retry only granted if you get lots of collectibles.

But I quit at Episode 4. Even with Arcade Mode it felt so damn unfun. But the game is absolutely still worth it for the first three episodes.
