I like these single franchise only sales.  Either I'm a fan and already own them all or I have no interest and buy nothing.

Either way, money saved.

Salt and Sanctuary (2D Dark Souls-ish game by the Charlie Murder devs) just announced release for 3/15.  Game is $17.99 with a 10% pre-order discount.  Looks really good.

Edit: ninja'd!

Yea it does, shit they all look good. I'll definitely add those all to the backlog eventually.

I feel like GS has sales that drop the physical copies of the Assassins' Creed games I want to the same prices as this sale, so I'll probably end up passing on everything this time around

Is the boxed (AC Chronicles Trilogy) one a voucher or disk based? Been searching but haven't found anything definitive.
It's a disc. It's worth noting that if you buy the trilogy set download or the disc it has a platinum trophy (if you're into that). The separate games do not.

That game Dreii is doing that thing where it shows up on the store but there's no page for the game. It might be that it's not fully updated yet but I saw this once with another game that was never really uploaded to the store (A Virus Named Tom for the PS Vita).

Yeah, thats why I curse them. Early adopters or fans always get fucked. I never learn, should have waited more and buy the gold edition.
Since a couple of years ago, i stopped buying Ubi games at launch because of that same reason.

We've been seeing Ubi games go on sale with like a month of anticipation. Never will again.

Happened with AC: Syndicate, and with Rogue ( i think)

Always wait after it comes out and wait till Black Friday or a little after.

And that's the same reason why i'm waiting for the Division pretty sure it'll happen all over again.

Assasin's Creed sale is pretty disappointing (for me at least)

was hoping for a 5$ Liberation,oh well.

i hope US PSN match up with other psn stores with great games for great prices sale, want that phantom breaker so bad...

fuck them for not having AC:Syndicate SESASON PASS on sale.
Welcome to next gen. Where early adopters get shitted on by almost every AAA publisher.

$30-50 season passes are released for almost every AAA game at launch.

After 6+ months the base game + Season Pass will release together for $30-50 (less than what you paid for the base game alone)

BUT... the season pass will never go on sale (or once a year at best) for early adopters.

If theirs a game you'd consider having the "full experience with" just wait till the GOLD, XL, ULTIMATE editions release or drop in price.

Hoping to see my $15 today

All the Ultimate Editions are a nice deal.

BroForce was patched, but it still seems to be freezing up.

Just as an FYI. I think that game Dreli will be on mobile next week and I suspect at a lower price if you want to be a real cheapass.

Any opinions on bloodlines and liberation?
In order, Don't and Do.

Bloodlines is an AC game on PSP, which means that the controls are a problem (camera controls are mapped to the right-hand face buttons. I can't even remember for the life of me how you're supposed to input actions) and the "city" is a set of individual sections connected by gates. Its story is also very forgettable, probably only worth going through once and unlocking those ACII weapons (connectivity!).

Liberation, on the other hand, is good. Not on the upper tier for the series, but still better than III. Stay away from the "multiplayer" though, it's incomprehensible. And be ready to suffer through a couple of "hold Vita up to the light" segments, those never work. Also features connectivity: a bonus mission and weapons on both III and this game.

You say early adopters get crapped on, but I feel like you don't understand what an early adoptet is. By that very nature you are paying, usually more, for the access to contetn earlier. Yeah a game is going to be cheaper later on in its lifespan but you paid the full price to be able to play it from day 1 or early on. There is a value trade there. No one is getting crapped on. Purchasers just need to understand what they are paying for and why. If you have to have a game day one you will always pay more. Others dont see the value in being there day one.

I do agree, however that season passes not going on sale sucks. At some point that same value discussion needs to occur. Those passes are worth less especially once all content is announced and released.

And finally you are right in that people, who feel like being early to game is frustrating, should definitely wait and try to find the packaged collection for cheaper.

Its about determining the value, to you, of being an early adopter. Me personally I havent seen the value in any game to be there day one. I do have to contend that early adopters get crapped on, because as a consumer you make that choice to not put off a purchase in order to be able to play the gane now. That is a choice that costs money.

Now if you want to argue that publishers are trying to destroy that value proposition and trying to force everyone in to either early adoption or other means to get more money out of those who would wait and the early adopters, then we can find agreement.

Yeah, I used a flashlight to point to the camera, which thankfully resolves the problem.
Yeah, after pointing it at windows and lamps for a while I managed to pull it off with my cell phone flashlight. Or by putting it down and having the dumb thing recognize the dark as light. Uncharted did it too and I hated it for that.

It could be worse though, later Metrico stages require you to point at different color sources. Good, I'll point my flashlight to this tomato to have the crappy camera finally pick up the color, that's fun.

Haha I actually beat Metrico. I spun my Vita around the house to allow it register whatever it recognizes as the color it wanted.

Urg another week, another super shitty sale. I  Absolutely hate when they have only one franchise on sale and nothing else. Given that's how the rest of March is likely to be the Golden week sale in April better be damn good to make up for it, especially since we didn't get a Vita annivasary sale this year either

The grip isn't with paying more to play earlier. That's a given.

Products drop in price over time.

The issue here is publishers are choosing to sell a packaged Game + Season pass combo whenever a sale occurs and not putting a sale price on both individually. If they can put the game alone on sale ($30) and the packaged combo ($36) why isn't the season pass on sale at all, even 50% ($15) would be decent enough.

It's either you buy the game again or you deal with it and dont get the "extra content." (or pay the full price)

I understand publishers trying to get the most money possible to offset or curb people from purchasing used.

However, they are failing to cateer to their early purchasers and give back to those who may arguably be the biggest fans of the franchise. (besides giving them a bug-ridden game at lauch ofcourse)

Thankfully, being cheapass gamers we know the drill by now, if a season pass is announced before release, cancel preorder :shame: and wait for the inevitable combo and/or price drop.
