It's odd that you were expecting them to redraw the sprites since out of the more than 40 re-released fighting games on PSN and XBL, Super Street Fighter II HD Remix is the only one to have ever gotten that treatment.
Yeah, I suppose I should have known better. I guess I expect a little more out of my video games. Ports/remakes included. If Sony doesn't refund me it certainly won't be the end of the world. I DO like the theme you got when you bought the game though.

It also has way fewer frames of animation than last blade.

SNK was notorious for animation frames, but nothing near as insane as SF3.

Getting the following error message when I try to launch Downwell on PS4:

"To use the application, you must update it.  To check the download status of the update file, select [Notifications] > [Downloads].  (CE-34632-8)"

Anybody else?  There are no updates available and I've tried reinstalling the game, restoring licenses, and rebuilding the database...all to no avail.

For some reason the PS4 version is still showing a price for me on the playstation store while the vita version shows "purchased."

[edit] This seems to be a known issue.  Devolver Digital tweeted about it yesterday afternoon.  They're looking into it.

Downwell from the description sounds like another terrible artsy indie game that will be free in 6 months on psn.
Take it from someone who's already put several hours into the PC version, you don't know what you're missing.

Was excited when I heard that it was coming to PSN. I definitely plan on picking it up again to enjoy on the Vita.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/05/25/7-things-you-should-do-in-neon-chrome-out-531/

Neon Chrome is coming to PS4 next Tuesday, which is a really cool mash-up of Rogue Legacy and Crimsonland as a roguelike dual-analog shooter with some cool persistent progression mechanics on top of it.

Score Rush Extended is coming to the PS4 next Tuesday. It's a dual-stick shmup that supports up for four-player co-op. This is from one of the better XBL Indie Games developers that made the Decimation X series of Space Invaders clones.

Super Mutant Alien Assault is coming to PS4 sometime this Summer. Seems to be an action/shooter platformer.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/05/25/introducing-loot-rascals-coming-to-ps4-early-2017/

The new game from Ricky Hagget (Hohokum, Frobisher Says, Super Exploding Zoo) is called Loot Rascals and it's supposed to be out early 2017 for PS4. It's a loot-focused roguelike with some neat mechanics for interconnectivity with other players' agents. Ricky's working with Swatpaz (Adventure Time) and Meowza (Alphabear/Road Not Taken) on the visual style of the game, which looks great in the trailer and screenshots.

Also, there will be a Vita demo for Odin Sphere next Tuesday.

you can't get metro last light complete edition if you have the vanilla from ps plus. STUPID.
Yeah, what is the deal with that? Similar to Helldivers. I bought it at launch and then it became free with PS+ but that version had extra shut and I couldn't download it because I 'already owned it'. That kind of shit always seems to happen with PSN.

Another example. I know for a FACT that I 'purchased' Don't Starve PS4 when it was free for PS+. I noticed during a recent sale it was part of it and it showed I didn't own it. I just checked again and it says I can download the PS3 & Vita versions of the Giant Edition but the PS4 Console Edition is $14.99. Then under the Giants Reign bundle it SAS 'Unavailable'. When I click on the 'Tell Me More' tab it says I can't purchase the item because I "already own Don't Starve Console Edition". Can someone please explain this cluster fuck?

I am so tired of hearing the term "roguelike".

I am so tired of hearing the term "roguelike".
I had a moron knotitall a few years ago try and tell me they were called "Roguelikes" because they are all based around features similar to the game "Roguelike"
and when I pointed out the game was Rogue, they refused to believe it...

Looking back, I've known some crazy and stupid people...

Oh, I know. But it doesn't make it less annoying. I guess it's because I'm not a fan of PC gaming in the slightest and all they tropes and genres are invading consoles this Gen that were previously PC-centric like rogue likes, MOBAs, MMOs...Ugh.
MMOs and Roguelikes have been on consoles plenty of times before this generation. MMOs largely started on consoles with PSO on the Dreamcast. One of the earliest big named console roguelikes were the Mystery Dungeon games from Chunsoft that is still around today with some Pokemon variants, though roguelikes as a whole are just a genre variant that gets mixed with many other types of games much like how everything had RPG elements thrown in them last generation.

You don't download the DLC for Helldivers, if it shows as purchased, when you login to the online server it recognizes you as owning the DLC and unlocks the items in game. That also means the DLC can't be gameshared.

jesus christ this new TMNT game is fucking terrible

it's worse than that Korra game, I have to assume it's from the same team within Platinum

i hope everyone involved with creating this atrocity gets fired

Why the hell is the vanilla version of gta 5 on sale for PS3, but not ps4? Seriously?!? Where is the logic in that? Asshats.

Seconded.

The sewer levels traverse like this:

Who the fuck designs sewers like that? Where the fuck does the giant manhole covers with 4 handles go when you lift it up? Why does water never go in there?

I am in the final levels, and while I do enjoy it now and then... I have to take a break between levels.

For the first two levels I described it to friends (and on the Xbox board) as an arcade style game and it is.. but even when you're fully upgraded... 1 good hit by any mob and you're all but dead, let alone from bosses.

I've begun to rely to much on Mikey since his Combo makes all mobs hit by it a 1 hit kill....

It's made to be a competitive co-op but.. I don't know anyone with this game and the AI is dumb as rock, especially in segments where you're trying to NOT be seen by a mob...

Also the surprise of the level boss is ruined when they literally name the level by the boss's name and show what they look like. Along with the fact they can't have the usual Platinum flare and over the top gameplay and encounters because... this is a co-op game.

They obviously can't implement Witch Time in it. But they have a dodge / parry mechanic. It just sucks. Dodge puts you behind the enemy so you can... mount them from behind (giggity) and hit them for next to no damage while being vulnerable. Parry is so useless because you'll just get dizzy after blocking for a couple of seconds, and then die with one hit.

Effects like freeze unfreezes the second they're hit. Those gravity bomb items do jack squat on anything that doesn't die before you can throw them.

Everything in the game is just poorly thought out.

So, the last basketball game I've played was Street Hoops on the GameCube (which was a massive upgrade from the NES days that I previously basketball games on). But I've been tempted to get in again since 2K13.

Is this Michael Jorden edition of a Spike Lee joint good for me at this price?
I was really waiting for the $10 price tag at GameStop. But maybe with the extras included here it might be good enough for me
Any thoughts fro me?

Got an x1? It's free on there currently, I think.

Maybe that's NBA Live...idunno

You just reminded me about that sketch from "Chappelle's Show" when Dave Chappelle schools a terminally ill boy in some "Street Hoops."

Yeah, and the levels are just these semi-sandbox things filled with boring objectives. And you just whale on the bosses endlessly until they die, it's like something out of fucking Destiny.

Thanks for helping me decide to NOT get TMNT.

As an old school fan of the series... I'm highly disappointed because I thought Platinum would have been a great developer to make this over the top action blended with the TMNT lore would be a perfect match.

Turtles in Time will continue to be their pinnacle to me then.

I always thought it was a subgenre attached to a primary genre.
Such as "Roguelike" than a genre.
No, there are entire games that are pure roguelike. (If anything, "RPG" would be a subgenre in those games if they have character growth and leveling.)

Is Dragon's Crown worth $15?
Just ordered a Playstation TV so looking for some cheap/good games for Vita :D
For sure. It's a lot of fun with different play styles, and it gets seriously challenging on later difficulties.

In your face! In. Your. FACE!

That sucks that TMNT is so bad as I loved Bayonetta and the Transformers Devastation, I would have been fine if it was just more of the same, but i guess they made the formula worse somehow

It's a genre, so you'll have to deal with it.
The only thing that pisses me off about it is that I actually love roguelikes [nethack, ToME, stone soup, etc] and these action games were supposed to be in a genre called 'rogueliTes' that quickly just became 'rogueliKes' because fuck "T"s.

It makes it generally confusing to talk about, because I often talk about both genres [since I love both].

Ultimately, whatever, the resurgence of roguelites is good for me since I love them so much. It's hardly a new genre though [though the name is relatively new]. The original pre-FPS Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castlewolfenstein from the 80's are essentially grandfathers of the genre [one life, randomized castles, limited ammo, basic lewt, locks/keys/badges, etc] and many games could still learn from them.

Your post about upcoming games looks great -- Neon Chrome top listed, but some of the others are very interesting as well.

Is there seriously just one Vita game (Helldivers) as part of the "Extended Play" sale?
Not many vita games have dlc, and I believe that's the point of the 'extended play' sale. 'extended' = dlc.

What, this amazing gameplay doesn't do it for you?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY83H8BdxhI
Not sure if you're joking... but while I haven't played it yet, Downwell has critical acclaim and a ton of player buzz... it's a well loved game. May not be for you, but a ton of people have been waiting for it.

wow thats just awful. Unless theres missing context like the kid doesn't want people taking pitty on him or something.
Dave refuses to let the boy win at "Street Hoops" on PlayStation 2 and shows no mercy on him. It's one of the funnier sketches on the show actually, especially if you like video games. I'm sure there's a clip of it on YouTube if you search. I can't link right now because I'm on a mobile.

For some reason I am tempted by Prototype for PS4. This would not be a good purchase, right?
I bought the first one on ps3 and the second on ps4 a few weeks ago during a deal

if you collect and have money buy them

if you have money and actually play games buy them

if you collect and don't have much money don't buy them

if you play games and don't have much money get #2 or don't buy them

That actually does look really good. I thought it was going to be a forced scrolling game where you died instantly if you brushed up against obstacles, but it's clearly much more complex than that. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
