PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Red Game without a Great Name has a terrible trophy. The only gold trophy in the game is for dying 5000 times.

The game is tough and you do die a good amount, but I'd guess I'm not even much past 500 with 6 levels left to play. So it's a stupid grindy trophy that nobody would ever get legitimately, and it's the only gold trophy in the game to boot. And its not even for accomplishing anything in the game, it's for being bad at the game. Terrible trophy.

The game is alright. It's touchscreen only but pretty simple to get used to the controls.

I think trying to get around the city is what ruins the game for me. The other parts feel pretty much like the first game, minus the gun, but just trying to get around on those streets is the absolute fucking worst.
It's not just the navigation. There are a ton of required quests that make you use the vehicles and/or have instant-death conditions. At 2 trophies you've barely scratched the surface on how bad it is.

Lifelower said $130. That's insane.

Though I have to admit if it was for a franchise I actually loved I'd probably be all in.

I played a bit more of The Witness before I passed out and it got a little better once I found a recording on top of the hill.  Got a better sense of the game but so far the puzzles are kind of lame.  I was hoping for more variety.

Woah woah woah, you better take that talk out of this thread.

THE WITNESS IS THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME AND ILL NOT HAVE YOU SULLY BLOWS NAME!

Speaking of the witness, that firewatch game and it remind me of each other graphically.

Firewatch sounds way better though.

dariusburst is great. if you pick it up cheap, opt for the ps4 version. the arcade mode is letterboxed on the vita version in a way that approaches absurd.

and there is in fact a trophy no one has gotten yet. 0.0% in the psn trophy stats.

Did you buy both? PS4 version is still expensive.
Just the vita version since it was only (?) $22 after the psn coupon. But I assume even if it's letterboxed on ps4 it won't matter so much on a 50" TV.

The cs mode is a good fit for vita though (and that mode's not letterboxed) - it's bite sized chunks of the game. It takes maybe 10 minutes to get through a mission. There's a bajillion missions to pick away at so there's always something to do. It'll get repetitive eventually but I'm happy with it.

woof. way too much money still.

Just watched Lucifer ep1. Soundtrack was great though I doubt they'll keep that up. Guy that plays Lucifer was also really likable. I'm looking forward to next week's to see how things change after the pilot. Might have to check out the comics now.

Hopefully it stays decent but changes a bit to keep from getting stale. I'm not actually watching any procedurals right now, so it'd be nice to have a new one to watch.
Based on the commercials I would say that the show has nothing in common with the comic, but at least the comic is good (and has an ending which is always a bonus in comic books).

I played Shadow of Mordor some over the past few days, doing a few of the main missions and hunting down some collectibles. I was worried because I really expected to like this game a lot, but it just wasn't grabbing me. Tonight, I sat down to play it, and I found myself just chasing down the captains and getting murdered when I'd find myself fighting two or three at a time along with some grunts. This one named Feldush, I killed him once. He came back, and I killed him again. Then he came back with this burlap sack thing over his head, said something badass, and then the game music started chanting his name: Fel-dush, Fel-dush, Fel-dush.

That was my moment. That's when I knew I loved this game.

Seriously, if you're still on PS3, don't play it until you get a PS4. The Nemesis system makes the game. It's so cool when one of the captains shows up and remembers what happened last time you met him.

How far into the game are you? At a certain plot point you get the ability to shoot an arrow and then warp to the target. That had a huge impact on how fun the game was for me. It eliminated so much of the running across empty space stuff and just made the game feel so much better.

Neat. Wonder if NA will get the same:

I don't own the game on Steam, either, but it's been in some pretty steep sales over there.

Like 5 main missions in, I think.

Looks like you get Shadow Strike during The One Truth. That's #8. Not sure how you're approaching it, if you're doing a bunch of the main missions or the side stuff. I'd at least run through #8 first if you're doing side-stuff, it'll help a lot and should make it more fun.

Mordor didn't grab me at all. I played a few hours and thought it was super boring. Since I just had a free rental, I didn't bother to keep playing.
Yeah it's definitely a game that you have to get further into to enjoy, IMO. I found the beginning to be pretty dull and was disappointed with my purchase until I got maybe 1/3-1/2 of the way into it, at which point the powers and combat and nemesis system all kind of clicked together.

Why didn't you guys warn me that Unity kind of sucks? I always thought people just complained because of the glitches at launch, but this is easily the worst AC game out of the bunch.
I liked it better than Syndicate. Syndicate had the grapel gun and pretty much nothing else.

Should have listened to I think therm and maybe gator too.

Lego hobbit vita sucks, worst lego game ive played so far. just not a fan of it at all.
I kind of expect to hate the new Avengers one too. I am not in the camp of people that wanted the handheld one to have a hub. I liked the level challenges. I can do all the hub shit in the main console versions.

Thatd be cool if we got helldivers, its always sounded kinda fun when people talked about it in the thread.
Lots of people like it. I liked it at first but got bored pretty quickly. Each planet for each enemy class is exactly the same. I may have to go back to it though and rubber band my controller to get that 100K kills or whatever ridiculous number it was. I cant let Mild get an artificial boost on me

Looks like Helldivers and Pixeljunk Nom Nom Galaxy may be PS+:

May not carry across regions but it seems like most games do.
That wouldn't be too bad, I guess. My library has the Helldivers physical release on PS4, but it would be nice to have on PS4 for the sake of convenience.

Also, Gator enjoyed Nom Nom Galaxy (IA hoop-jumping), so that might be a good time.

Speaking of The Avengers, did I tell you guys how overrated that fuck ing movie is?   Cause it has to be one of the most overrated movies of all time.

I dunno, how could you go wrong with Sean Connery?

Joking aside, I think Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are better Marvel movies than Avengers, but the latter is still a great movie.

Yeah, Nom Nom may not be for everyone but I really loved that game. I am glad more people will at least try it now. Although I hope too many here did not get the slap due to my recommendations in the past.

Yeah, it was $3.75 shortly after Christmas, so that would probably be the price any slap victims paid.

I didnt see it until well after its release and I am a firm believer that a lot of media is best consumed closer to its release in order to fully understand the hype/impact but I was pretty much bored the entire movie.

Have you enjoyed the other Marvel movies since Avengers?
