Somebody remind me - does Comcast own MASN? I thought they did, but then the last time this thing was brought up it sounded like MASN broadcasts weren't included. I.e. am I going to get in-market Orioles broadcasts via MLB.tv?

Finished up my Steins Gate playthrough. Cool game. Kind of wish I had played a vn previously so I could understand the controls and how to reply to the emails a little sooner. I don't think I really had much effect on the story until the later chapters since I was just pressing X and hoping stuff would happen. Story was still pretty cool though. I ended up with the
Suzuha ending. Dunno how Rintaro kept repeating those two days, I was getting annoyed just mashing the X button through the same shit for 10 minutes.
Probably going to start my plat playthrough tonight. Definitely interested in watching the anime for the true ending now, and I may youtube some of the other ones if I get curious.

How's Firewatch?
Good so far, only did day one basically. The start of it takes a min, without really spoiling anything, you start out walking to the firewatch tower and in between you walking on the path a little it does some text flashback story with a few times where you choose between two answers. Its basically giving you the backstory on WHY you took the firewatch job to begin with. Pretty heavy stuff to start the game with.

Actual gameplay is not bad, the camera is a little wonky at times, like using the right stick to look around is the kind where it starts moving slow and then gets going fast, not terrible once you get used to it.

Oh and the walkie talkie controls are different. You hold l2 to bring up the walkie talkie and then you might have a couple of reply choices, you hit r2 to change selections on those and then release l2 to make the selection. Different but if you think about how a walkie talkie works, pretty good way of making it work like the real thing.

No. In-market streaming isn't in place and is not guaranteed to ever be.

I'm announcing that I am coming out of trophy retirement. Granted, I can't really play video games while I'm in school, but I think I'm gonna go back and get some missing trophies, even from games I don't like, with a MildObstruction-like focus.
Cool. So I guess in 2 days we should expect your announcement that you're quitting your job and becoming a full time streamer. Then the announcement that you're retiring from video games altogether will be about a week from that?

I saw a post on another forum about Firewatch. Mostly not positive--it was a few hundred posts back so I'll paraphrase; Not sure if the guy playing was on PC or PS4, but he said the framerate drops like a rock when new music starts and that there are trees clipping through stuff all over the place. It also took him 3h45m to beat and he wasn't rushing through it. The ending is bad but not to the point where it was like Indigo Prophecy and made him regret playing the game. He said he would have felt he got his money's worth at $5, but not at $20.

I'm pretty curious what people in here will say about it.

I've been trying to get through it, but I really don't like the main character. So when you're spending forever just reading a story about him...ugh

I'd been using a service that allows me to watch local teams on MLB.tv, but I think it makes the quality worse. I get a lot of hiccups and quality drops in playback, sometimes worse than other times.

The developer is working on that framerate issue: http://www.destructoid.com/firewatch-dev-super-fu-king-bummed-about-ps4-frame-rate-issues-340679.phtml

Yeah, I can see why you don't like him. I didn't mind him at the start though, and he got a lot better after they started establishing his reasons and background more. That took a while though. If you don't like him at all it might not be worth sitting through until he gets better because it's still going to mostly be about him. Once the story itself starts picking up the pace around chapter 3 or 4 I think, it gets a lot more forgivable since the storyline is progressing better, and his character gets a lot less irritating.

I have no idea about the steins gate story, I read for 1 hour then just got the plat.

something about time travel I guess?

Knights and Bikes confirmed for PS4:

At least assuming the Kickstarter succeeds:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/foamsword/knights-and-bikes

But it's a coop game and they are relying on SharePlay for online.
Hah. Yeah you beat me by 2 minutes. This tweet made it sound interesting:

Goonies, SoM, and Earthbound? Great inspirations. The video makes it look wacky and really unique, too.

I have played versions of Steins;Gate games 16 times (that particular one 8 times) and I couldn't tell you anything more than this. Only 4 of those 16 were in English so that at least partially explains it. Assuming I would not care at all about the story is the real reason.

A woman at work said I look good in this shirt today.

She wants the D.

Now if I were a woman, I wouldnt just be happy with the compliment.  I would have to ask myself if that person thinks I look bad every other day.

Now Sage can respond and tell me how she is not like that bla bla bla, etc.  :)

I'll see it through to the plat and actually read through the whole story at least my first time through. We'll see how much I end up paying attention to all of the different paths/endings.

I glanced at the trophy guide and made a save at the start of chapter 4 like it said. I was hoping things would start picking up there and there'd be slightly more gameplay than just "send a dickish reply email," but no. I was also hoping rintaro would drop all his mad scientist/plunging the world into chaos crap after they hacked into sern and found the jellyman reports and saw people were actually dying, but no. I'm just about to start using the phonewave to do time leaps, so now I'm again hoping things pick up. If it's getting my hopes up for nothing again, I'm going to punch this game in the face.

Party Hard coming to PS4:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/02/11/party-hard-launching-on-ps4-this-spring/

It's about a guy that goes nuts when a party wakes him up in the middle of the night. He kills everybody, realizes he's got a knack, then goes across the US doing the same to other parties....

This part sounded interesting:

And here’s the kicker: if you livestream the game using Twitch on your PS4, the people watching your stream will be able to enter commands into the live chat and mess around with your game. Maybe they’ll vote to send a SWAT team into the house to catch you, or unleash an army of angry bikers on the party.

Keep playing. Steins;Gate is probably the best visual novel I've played.

I doubt anyone remembers this shit but I'll ask anyway: for TWAU episode 5 gold trophy, do I have to play the entire Georgie scene over? I read that somewhere, but I was thinking Chapter 3 started right at the point you needed to be for that one.

I'd never do that!

I look like a unicorn farted out the most wonderful double rainbow surrounded by heavenly sunshine you've ever seen. Every day. At all times.

The pst.org guide makes it sound like you just have to get Mary to mention Bigby's mom and it'll trigger the Fable entry. IIRC that's immediate rather than at the end of the chapter or episode. It has been a while, though.

Choose your own joke adventure.

Option a, turn to page 33:

Was your D the one wearing the shirt?

Option b, turn to page 47:

Are you wearing anything below the waist, or is it just the shirt?

Option c, turn to page 28:

No, if you were a woman, you'd sue for sexual harassment.

Just watch for when it says in the corner about a Book of Fables entry being unlocked. If it is the last one you need, I think it will pop the trophy immediately.

Vlambeer still has no idea when the PSN patch is coming out:

Bleh.

Kojima has a Youtube series now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4-4zkQRdfk

The first "episode" lists his Top 10 Movies of 2015.

EDIT: Anyone interested might want to hold off for now because the subtitles stop at around the 4:15 mark for some reason.
