PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

My boy and I finished up Skylanders Superchargers Saturday. By far the worst game of the series in my opinion. Have a few simple trophies I could go back to get but I have enough to keep it from lowering my completion percentage so that's probably enough for me. So ready to move on from it.

We FINALLY got his Mom to send his copy of LEGO Marvel over that I got him not this past Christmas but the one before, so we'll work on that together next.

Got real excited about Vue for a second. Then I remembered I don't really watch anything that's not on netflix or free hulu.

Not really sure if the $35 a month is worth it.
It's $30 if you don't care about "local" sports and some other additions.

We get the main networks via antenna, but not always well, so I'd like to be able to stream them ideally. And not PBS at all, but Vue is no help there. Still, I can live with occasionally sketchy local channels via antenna as long as Vue actually gets me MASN/MASN2.

South Park talk:

I'm getting to the point in South Park where I haven't seen all the episodes, I stopped watching a few years ago so everything from this point on will be new to me.

I think I stopped watching right around "You're Getting Old" because it felt like a logical conclusion to the show, though it would have been a depressing way to go out. When I first saw it I definitely thought they would just break out of their contract at that time and call it quits, but Trey and Matt have said in interviews that the episode came off more cynical about the show than it was supposed to be.

I liked Part 2 of that episode but didn't love it. I definitely think those 2 episodes are a cornerstone of the later seasons of the show, I'm interested to see what I think about 16-19. It almost sounds like they wanted to take South Park in a new direction to try to rejuvenate it a bit, but then pussed out at the last minute.

Since PS4 and PC cross play already works, you would think once X1 works with PC that all should be able to work together unless they are handling the cross play piece somehow at the end devices themselves and not at the servers.
I'd guess the biggest hurdle would be to get the two consoles manufacturers to agree to crossplay. Like you say, the back end semantics seem like they shouldn't be an issue.

I would love to see cross-platform play in more games. I don't have a ton of X1 friends but I have a few, and it would be fun to play with them.

Pretty sure we are psn friends, hit me up if you see me playing.

Played a little with Owl last night, we ran through a couple of level 5 missions just the two of us and then tried a 7 with a couple of randoms, it didnt go as well.

Still like the game though, fun to get on a do a few missions and then be done. Will eventually get to level 25.

Oh and Owl managed to inadvertently get me 2 trophies, got the one for the shuttle landing a on a bug tank, and we blew through one level 5 mission so got the under 5 min mission time trophy, think we did it in 4:30ish. It was a 2 objective mission and both were the carry the case to the place thing.
Okay. I don't see myself playing it on a regular or daily basis like you guys though. I'm working on finishing up Tales of Hearts R and La Mulana first. And I just started HellDivers too. Should I play through the story mode first?

If you're still talking about helldivers, there's definitely no story. You just shoot a bunch of stuff and get destroyed by tentacles that spawn inside of your vehicle for 3+ hours

Yeah, at $29 a month it's real debatable if it's necessary. (I could buy two full digital seasons of shows for that price) I'll use the week trial and then maybe git a month to see if we watch it enough. All we have now is Amazon Prime video and Netflix, which are nice but we're a missing a few of the newer shows that the tween watches of the Nick App..

I am. All I did last night was the tutorial, and then the ship picked me up and met the general guy who told me to go pick a mission. (I laughed at the idea of your commander delegating mission selection to subordinates).

I was hoping for more tongue-in-cheek humor, or maybe even a plot or backstory to the cyborgs and bugs. (No? Just shoot them. We're good. They're evil. SuperEarth!)

Yea not sure why there is no android app for vue, only have the apple app right now. Sony makes android phones, youd think they would have made an android app too, hopefully they get to it.

My reason for going with vue is I have 2 ps3 and a ps4, so essentially 3 cable boxes if you will. Any cable company charges useless extra fees to rent their shit, that you basically have to have, we have 3 boxes from TDS and I think its like 30ish a month just for those, plus the cable service. So no issue to me using the 3 consoles I already own.

I have an ipad so can use the chromecast with it through that until an android app is made.

Would be nice if worked on vita/vita tv too but dont think that is going to happen.

Why the fuck is everything you post from the European blog when the same exact shit is on the US blog?
Because the US blog hadn't posted it yet. That's the cause of every EU post I link. They did link it 4 minutes after EU, but I'd already posted the link by that point (I also edited in the US link before your post.) Sometimes EU has a game announcement but US either never makes a blog posts or never tweets it.

Way to play along, take your legit reasons for doing what you do and get out of here.

Destructoid gave Salt & Sanctuary an 8.5: http://www.destructoid.com/review-salt-and-sanctuary-348482.phtml

It's difficult to be disappointed by a great studio taking solid mechanics and narrative beats from one of the best studios around, especially when the result is something as well-crafted as Salt and Sanctuary. While I do wish Ska Studio's latest had more of its own identity, I can't deny that I enjoyed every minute of it. I already spent about 25 hours with it, and I'm salivating, eager to go through New Game +. Now be proud that I didn't make a "salty" joke like every other outlet will in their review.

Definitely sounds interesting, and I'm tempted, but I still haven't even gotten around to playing bloodborne. The smarter decision would be to wait for a sale, but the free $20 in credit I got last week is trying to convince me otherwise.

I would do Vue in a heart beat if I could find good, fast internet anywhere but with Verizon.   And they dont have NFL network it appears.  BOOOO.

Anyway it doesnt looks like I would save more than a couple bucks with Vue and Verizon internet only.

I could switch to 50mb cable internet for $60ish/month (which is only about $10 more than I'm paying for 3mb DSL right now), plus $35-$45 for Vue. $100 a month is cheaper than what the cable company wants just for internet and cable, on top of the extra fees for DVR, $10/mo for each set-top box, and another fee for HD on non-local channels.

The only downside is I use my email address from the phone company for pretty much every account I have. I don't know how much of a hassle it would be to change it on everything. I think I can keep it for $5 a month as long as I have my landline.

Woah.  BJ Raji was supposed to be meeting with the Panthers today.

Word just came in he decided to retire.

Wouldn't mind having him back for cheap, but I guess he's not feeling it anymore.

Machinarium sure does a good job of showing off how stupidly obtuse point and click adventure games are. I don't think I would have made it out of the first room without a guide.

Quit your whining you entitled selfish brat! Nintendo reprints great games at a phenomenal price point and all you do is complain. All of you idiots crying about not getting your precious "original" artwork should do the world a favor and jump off a bridge. There are real problems in this world and you not getting an original print isn't one.
This dude is mad.

I am being told that Cigar City may still have Hunahpu on tap through Tuesday.  I didnt get to go Saturday but may go tonight if they still have it when I leave work.
