I feel like they did a really good job with the marketing so it sucks that the game sold so poorly.
I think there are a lot of nerdy guys out there like me who will give pretty much any indie game a chance at the right price (there's a few even in this thread). But even being 60% off on PS4 during the holiday sale, I skipped over it instantly because of the local multiplayer only component.
Here's the thing about local multiplayer. I have a few friends IRL who do like to game, but when they come over I would NEVER suggest playing a game like Toto Temple Deluxe. They're not interested in that. They'll want to play a few matches of FIFA or a few games in Madden or NHL, or do some local MP shooting in games like Call of Duty or Borderlands. So not only do you have to have local friends to play games with, but those friends also have to like corny little indies. So the target audience is just so tiny.
