PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I'm a little scared to check any standings on TT. God knows they are probably abysmal.
Can't be any worse than mine.

7,800 over all.

1,482 in Vita

(don't even see myself on the Washington list.)

Also consider it's not a requirement to put in your territory and definitely not your state when you sign up for TT, so only people who have bothered to change that would show up on the rankings

#DebbieDowner
Raises hand! I just did it now. But it looks like I still dont show up in Florida. I would be #1 I think. Gator's buddy is #1 right now.
Yeah I just added myself for my region and I still don't show up, maybe the database has to update or something. I'm definitely #1 in my area now! HAHA.

Having this goatee is almost more of a pain in the ass than shaving every other day. The weekly trimming, I need to color in the too prominant gray hairs; and my OCD is requiring me to touch it and pluck out hairs that feel wiry or are standing up.

I think they expect you to have played previous iterations. the load screens have all of the tutorial information strangely enough, but here's the skinny:

hit the ball in the hole within par. all environmental stuff affects your play, so specifically you have to pay attention to:

- wind (upper right - the speed and direction really do matter, but also how you hit the ball causes it to be more or less affected by the wind)

- weather (rain only, causes all drives / putts / etc to be underpowered to a random degree)

- elevation (i.e. if the green is 10 feet below your golfer, you have to not aim for the flag on the hit meter but rather just below it. the flag on the meter is ALWAYS relative to your position without environment taken in to consideration)

- lie (the lie of the ball where you're hitting from will often have a slope that you have to counter with the direction you hit and the lie of the course you hit it too matters in terms of slope - the more brutal courses they almost always slope towards sand traps or pits so you have to try to get the ball either slow down or roll to a flat area on drives)

putting is the most susceptible to the slope of the course and rain and it just takes practice to know how far to the left/right to adjust based on the 'speed' of the slope.

spin is important and a little confusing. basically this is it:

- back spin = hold down while hitting (distance and impact) + getting 'good' impact (in the pink with the default meter) = slows the roll of the ball

- super back spin = hold forward while hitting distance, hold back while hitting impact + getting 'perfect' impact (in the white with the default meter) = slows the roll considerably, can cause the ball to actually roll backwards after landing (based on spin skill). if it hits the pin it can cause a special shot ('homing shot') to magically sink the ball in the hole. homing shot randomly misses which is weird.

- forward spin = hold forward while hitting (distance and impact) + 'good' impact = causes the ball to roll farther

- super forward spin = hold back while hitting distance, hold forward while hitting impact + 'perfect' impact = lots of forward roll, can cause a 'rising shot' if it hits the pin

- side spin = hold a direction left or right to hook the ball left or right + 'good' impact

- super side spin = hold opposite direction of the way you want to hook while hitting distance, hold direction you want to hook while hitting impact + 'perfect' impact = really wide hook, also can cause a 'spiral shot' if it hits the pin which is hard as shit to hit

I almost always use forward spin on drives unless I need to avoid a hazard and back spins/hooks on every shot to the hole after that depending on the situation.

different golfers have different strengths, just experiment. if you're willing to part with the money, the level 5 big air / pin hole clubs and balls on psn as dlc makes it easier to do what you want starting out.

There's no harm in turning on easy difficulty. There is a pretty massive difficulty uptick in I think challenge set 4 and beyond and getting crowns on each challenge will make you want to throw your vita sometimes but I love this game.
Ahh, hot shots. For a while I didn't think I would ever get that plat, but man was it gratifying once I finally got the last trick shot. Can't believe you're going to go through that again on ps3.

That's like saying you can't believe someone would visit Michaelangelo's David twice. The game is perfect!

They just haven't updated the list in a while. How long does that usually take, Vig?
Best Buy typically updates the list around E3 time, but there are a few releases between now and then that I thought would have certs attached--Far Cry Primal, Mafia III, and Homefront: The Revolution--so who knows if they'll update it earlier?

I suppose none of y'all care about the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  But in case you do, it looks like the new Fox TV movie remake their doing (with Laverne Cox as Frank N Furter) just cast the Tim Curry to play the Criminologist.

Gamestop sent me an offer for $20 extra for every 4-game set of PS4/XB1 games traded in, and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood has a $10 base TIV.

That just leapt to the front of my backlog.

I'm at the point of just skipping cutscenes and ignoring dialogue in Drakengard. It's all a bunch of shit that sounds like it was written by a 12 year old who just found out about sex from his 17 year old brother that saw a titty in magazine for the first time last week.

Thanks for that, I never really did understand all the different spin shots. Clears it up. Good stuff.

That's a terrible idea. The first season was alright but as soon as they got out of prison it all went to shit. Breakout Kings was quite a bit better IMO.
Yeah, I was a big fan of Breakout Kings, was disappointed when that got cancelled. But at least the girl that played Erica got another role not too long after on Graceland.

Tim curry was an answer for bar trivia last night. I've never seen rocky horror though.

Speaking of Old Blood, how long is a playthrough of that anyway? Might run through it this weekend as well.

Yeah, I should have googled. Sunday, January 24th at 10.
This made me wonder what HBO show it was going to get crushed by. While looking at the HBO schedule, I realized that this Sunday they are airing a version of the first 2 Godfather movies that was edited into chronological order. I am surprised I had not heard them hyping that up. I definitely need to set the DVR for it.

To answer what I originally went looking for, it looks like there is not even one of the HBO Sunday dramas airing currently for it to have to compete against.

They also ordered a pilot for a 24 series without Jack Bauer. I'd watch if it actually made it to air, but it would obviously be better with him.
That would be really weird. In 24 nothing happened unless JB was on screen. "I'm an hour away but I'll rush right there to push the button!" was basically every scene in the show. Would that change with the new series or would everybody just stand around waiting for somebody to do something?

I really need to delete Hardware Rivals so I stop getting these alerts on my phone.
Sorry about that. I won't send you any more challenges. Home with a sick kid. I send out the challenges any time they pop up to help out with The Challenger trophy.

I'm not sure how much I like Hardware Rivals, but I get addicted to online MP sometimes. It's definitely no Rocket League. The graphics remind me a lot of that Bodycount game.

Just going through the story, only a few hours, pretty short.

If you follow a collectibles guide, and go for those, might add a little bit of time but not much, maybe another hour

I forgot it was challenges that caused that. keep sending them in case i ever play it again.

Are you friends with Madchemist and do you have alerts setup for the playstation app on your phone? He must be playing it today and before that it was Munky, Tyler, Cro...and more.
I must have not set up app alerts, though I thought I had.

Edit: all notifications were enabled, so not sure why I'm not getting them.
