PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I watched some aces of the luftwaffe gameplay and I think I'll skip. forced looks like it could be fun but otherwise nothing for me this time around.

Prayers and thoughts please PSNOT, baby hasn't grown any since the last ultrasound 2 weeks ago so they're going to induce my gf today. Just found out. They said everything seems to be normal with her so I'm not that concerned, they just want her to go ahead and have her since she's stopped growing.
Good luck man! Hope everything works out well. PSNOT baby shower can wait.

I'm sure everything will be fine. Well... unless you put off sanding the crib this weekend. You'll never hear the end of that from the gf.

You got it. I hope everything goes well.

I did, lol. It was "freezing" so I stayed inside to drink all day and finish Rogue/Kung Fu Rabbit.

We have a bassonet though so no worries.

I could definitely use a xanax right now though. Anxiety is a bitch.

Looks like no best buy GCU discount on Valkaryia Chronicles. Disappointing, but hopefully the new 20% for amazon will apply. Nice to have options again when the exclusives pop up.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is releasing here both physically and digitally "Spring 2016" for $29.99 :)whee:): http://gematsu.com/2016/01/valkyria-chronicles-remastered-coming-west-spring

fuck YES THAT CASE LOOKS AMAZING

vig - when does gamestop usually update tivs? so far that arkham value has held and I was thinking about bouncing up there in an hour or so.
They should hold for at least another day or so. Any TIVs that would have been nuked already were on Saturday, when the 50% bonus started for employees.

Has anyone gotten a $50 psn download code from gamestop before? I forgot to grab it over the weekend, and now my order is stuck in review. Never had a code take this long to be sent. Really hoping it comes through before the flash sale prices disappear.

for $24 after amazon discount I'll have a go at valkyrie chronicles just to see what all the fuss is about. that's a really reasonable price for a sought after remaster.

All of the DLC will be included, too:

DLC Included – Besides the core game, Valkyria Chronicles Remastered includes all previously released DLC: Hard EX Mode, Edy’s Mission, Selvaria’s Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment.

I would call. Their systems are complete shit. When I had to call last time when buying a code, they were helpful and quick even if the answer just pointed out how shit their systems were.

Destructoid gave The Witness a perfect score: http://www.destructoid.com/review-the-witness-335133.phtml

What truly makes The Witness everything that it is lies somewhere between the fundamentals of the puzzles and the deeply philosophical of everything else. These two work in tandem, complementing each other even when they seem worlds apart. There are so many layers of separation between the two that it's almost impossible to perceive or even conceive. But, they're there, working hand-in-hand and, on some level, one in the same. You'd be hard-pressed to declare that one of these components is closer to defining The Witness than the other.
Truthfully, I wish I didn't have to score The Witness. I don't want to set people up for that expectation; I don't want a voice in the back of their head that says "Okay, when does this become a ten?" In a way, that's unfair and detrimental to how the game should be experienced, which is as open-minded and unassuming as possible. Don't go to The Witness. Let The Witness come to you.
Gamespot gave it a 9/10: http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/the-witness-review/1900-6416336/

That's what The Witness is about--gaining knowledge to make sense of the island and its gorgeous but exotic environments. The Witness molds its world, puzzles, and themes into such a layered, cohesive whole that, if we look hard enough, we'll keep finding new ways to perceive it.
There are still things about The Witness I can't make sense of--some clues I might never notice, and some puzzles I might never solve. But the hints are there. It might not all be clear at first, but that's okay, because I'm always learning.
IGN also awarded it a perfect score: http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/01/25/the-witness-review

The Witness has a power and pull that carried me throughout the more than 40 hours it took to complete it for the first time, and that, even now, beckons me back to confront the mysteries I left unsolved. Its graceful combination of tangible goals, obscurity, and freedom creates ample opportunity for small victories and grand revelations alike. For the most part, its themes weave themselves beautifully throughout the gorgeous world and wide variety of puzzles, but even when it breaks subtlety in favor of a more heavy-handed approach to exposition, it never detracts from the truly fulfilling moments The Witness offers in terms of solving its physical puzzles and unlocking its deepest mysteries.

As of right now, I only know for sure that I am going to get Super Blackout. I can throw the guy from CAG that wrote it a couple of dollars.

I am thinking about getting Terraria for PS4. Maybe George will see this and commit to playing it again with me in coop before the sale ends. Even though I have the Vita version from plus, I am not sure I would ever play it on Vita.

ETA: For all you people willing to spend $2 for 3/4 Home for the easy trophies, you should consider SkyScrappers for $6. Takes about double the amount of time to plat and is about 4 times the trophy points because of having a plat. Plus, it is an actual game.

I noticed that, but I was kind of hoping it would show up in a future sale for even less.

I went ahead and picked up super blackout for cag solidarity.

I'm waiting on a cheaper price for skyscrappers too since I'd probably just be getting it for entertaining trophy fodder.

Looks like we already have a winner for 2016 critically lauded artsy fartsy ("gorgeous") but really boring video game of the year.

speaking of which, if anyone needed a reason to hate Tim Schafer more:

I'm replaying Stacking and I will say that it's probably double fine's best game.

I easily thought that was their worst. Only one I've legitimately gotten bored with, though I haven't tried Broken Age yet.

Brutal Legend was fantastic, especially the multiplayer VS mode for the RTS. So fuck ing addicting. Costume Quest is great. Iron Brigade was a blast.

I wish the Witness was getting a physical release. I'd love to play it but its going to be a long time before its price hits what I'm willing to pay for digital.

My gf is gonna cloud sync my Sound Shapes trophy on PS4 before she comes to get me from work to keep my streak alive. See pharm, sometimes women ain't so bad!

noooooo, been on chat with sony support for 30ish minutes. agent asks me to upload a screenshot of my problem. When I go to drag the pic to the upload box like it asks, chrome decides to act like I dragged it into a standard window forcing it to open the tab as a copy of that picture. chat dead. 30+ minute wait to get back on with a rep. :<

Woah The Witness sounds like it will be pretty sweet. Man Street Fighter V is coming really soon. Guess I'll need to get out of my gaming funk. I want to finish The Order and Until Dawn before it releases!

Looks like Better Call Saul season 1 is finally hitting Netflix a week from today on Feb 1. Gives people two weeks to catch up before season 2 starts.

(Fun fact: I originally spelled 'call' as 'caul' because why not?)

Me too. Would have been Day 1 with a 20% discount from Best Buy or Amazon, and actually having some resell value after.

Its a shooter for $2. I assume twin stick but honestly dont know for sure or care. I also assume its set during WW2. And it reminds me of all those old school 1942 games which is awesome. I was about to buy it for $5 the other day with my 20% and other items. Glad I didnt.
It's not twinstick, I think it actually even autofires for you and all you do is move around. It sounds pretty lame but it was $2 so I bought it, cuz I'm an idiot.

What is that aces of Luftwaffe game you and Derek were getting?

It's not twin stick. You move the plane, and it auto fires. It's kind of cool, but you have to grind for upgrades, and to unlock new levels. It's extremely difficult without any upgrades. I'm currently grinding to be able to fight the second boss. I've seen Vids that make it look easy, but counting their hits vs mine, they're obviously upgraded.

I also really like the look of '2013 Infected Wars' which was released in 2015 and takes place in post-apocalyptic 2013.

edit - I think we might've discussed this one before too

Stupid fun little game. Reminds me a little bit of killing floor with the class leveling and buying weapons. My only complaint would be low enemy counts, but I'm only on the third level. Game also has a satisfying headshot sound.

mighty no 9 delayed again until 'Spring 2016'

priceisrightloserhorn.wav
Was it you, I recall someone here predicting this game would have another delay.

Anyway their excuse sounds like bullshit to me. The game is bad and they don't know how to make it not bad, so they keep delaying it hoping they magically figure something out.

It'd be great if they could come up with a consistent message and location for that. I searched for "cross" and found nothing and also checked near the bottom of the listing since it seems like that's where the cross-buy info is usually at. OlliOlli, OlliOlli2, and Rogue Legacy all have that above the bit with the number of players and such. Some games have completely different language.

As a comparison, here's the SS listing:

Part platformer, part music creator, Sound Shapes™ is the critically acclaimed game from Queasy Games (Everyday Shooter) that combines sight and sound into a truly unique gaming experience. Play through albums by Beck, deadmau5, and Jim Guthrie all beautifully illustrated by artists from Capy (SUPER TIME FORCE, Might & Magic: COH), Pyramid Attack (Jabbawaki, Guitar Hero), and Superbrothers (Sword & Sworcery).

And when you've completed the Campaign, jump into thousands of Community-created levels and the Level Editor (a full-on music synthesizer!) for practically infinite replay value.

Want more, here's a bonus: for one price you get Sound Shapes™ for BOTH PS3™ and PlayStation®Vita systems. Purchase it on one system and it's automatically available in the PlayStation®Store on the other.

Some features such as the cross-save feature require both the PS Vita and PS3™ system versions of the software.
