PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

That new TMNT game looks so fucking cool. I am more excited for that shit than just about any other game I can think of at the moment. Damn that shit looks so cold!

Good luck Mr and Mrs Backlog!!!

I'm off tomorrow again. Woohoo! And a plow on the street right now finally!

That snow plow is really struggling with all the snow, but it's past our cars now. We'll have to dig out the wall of snow, but otherwise good to go.

I didn't watch X-Files tonight. Wasn't that thrilled with the episode last night, plus commercials. I'll wait for the season to end up on Netflix and watch it then.

Was going to watch the new X-Files tonight. Oldest son came in the room and was curious about it. I turned it off, fired up Netflix, and started Season 1, Episode 1.

We finished Lost a few months ago. Wasn't sure what series to show him next, so we started watching old movies.

X-Files will be our next show I guess.

Box art for the sixth ("final?") season of Community, releasing 3/8 (DVD only):

I'll finally get to watch the damn thing on my TV instead of having to deal with all of yahoo screen's issues and my laptop screen.

Tomorrow will probably be my 4th day off from work and home with the kids. I think I miss work.

One the plus side, I have gotten a fair amount of vita playing in.

Operation Abyss is still flawed but it makes a serviceable dungeon crawler.

Endless corridor almost complete in La Mulana. Twin Statue obtained! On to the  (drawing a blank here. Temple. Reflections. Maze place.)

Congrats, backlog. No problems with the induction or with the lack of recent growth?

Will you be doing the paternity leave thing for a bit or is it right back to work?

No problems for the baby as far as they can tell, they even had a specialist look at images from a detailed ultrasound yesterday. Everything is normal, just no growth the past couple weeks. Her mom is very petite though, the specialist just thinks the baby's "normal" is small.

They've had her on medicine to thin out the cervix all night, going to start pitocin drops soon.

And nah right back to work for me, can't afford to stay out as much as I'd like to.

Finished Lego Jurassic Vita (I think). Missed a few of the Lego Movie bonus levels but got the credits 4 times I think and the trophy for completing all the levels. Don't think I am going to bother trying to figure out where the 2 or 3 bonus levels might be. Really not a fan of the hub system at all.

Might be my least favorite Lego game in a while. Didn't pay any attention to the stories and couldn't name 2 characters.
The bonus levels are green instead of blue in each hub world, they are the same as a level in the normal blue hub things and are a chase level but instead of being the humans you play as the dinosaur.

They were usually right near the first blue level thing.

If you were wondering if the new season of X-files was filmed in Vancouver you only have to watch episode 2 to confirm that. They packed what seemed like a seasons worth of Vancouver, regular TV guest stars in the first 30 minutes.

I'm just not feeling the new season very much, I think it's because they went tinfoil hat levels of paranoia and crazy way too fast in episode 1. I'm supposed to be on Mulder's side, but he really does sound like an insane person.
I hated episode 1 and couldn't help thinking the whole time that I was watching an inferior Fringe. I liked episode 2 much better. And if they want to continue the guest star parade from BSG and Chuck that's OK with me!

Stupid America and their no paid paternity leave.
Not true actually. If you work for a mom and pop they probably cant afford to have someone miss work and pay them, but most major companies allow you to have time off no matter if your the father or mother. If I got some chick pregnant I could now take 16 weeks full pay if I say I am the primary caregiver. It was 12 until this year. Even if your not the primary you get a week I think? #companyman

Now who can I impregnate...

Yeah but the majority of the people that actually need the paid paternity leave don't get it. It should be the same deal for dads as it is for moms. And it shouldn't depend on your corporate job vs your retail job vs your service job vs your mom/pop job. Everyone should get mandatory paid leave for the birth of their child. Unless you're just a sperm donor of course.

And no I don't know how we're gonna pay for it. That what Uncle Bernie is for.

Yeah...we should all have high paying jobs and have free medical care and not have to mortgage our homes. Oh and everyone should have a house they own too. No one should live in the street. OH and we should eradicate all disease too! No one should be racist or murderers either.

Oh but dont ask me how we would do all this. Just make it happen.

Surprised people are getting such a boner over the Ninja Turtle game as that trailer had like 10 seconds of gameplay footage at most. I guess people are really liking the art style? And I guess online co op is exciting? I expect it to be pretty comparable to Transformers (fun combat, not super deep, not very long) which is fine by me. I'm not like frothing at the mouth over it, though.

Exactly!!!! Just doooooo itttttttttttt!!!!!!

But seriously, there should be at least something for this. Tons of other countries have no problem doing the mandatory paid paternity leave thing with no repercussions. Maybe we should go talk to them. We're just too interested in making as much money as humanly possible over here, people be damned.

I wouldn't say I was frothing at the mouth. Until I saw the new umbrella corps trailer that has a new gen version of the village from re4.

Meh, just because other countries can do one thing that we cant doesnt mean they dont have other issues. We have other much more important issues to me since having a kid is a voluntary choice 99% (rape being the other 1% and obviously we should assist these women as much as possible) of the time. Its up to you to be responsible for your own actions. If you dont work somewhere where you get paid time off thats on you. Again, personal responsibility. Also remember that as big a government as we have we also give people the right to free speech and many people dont want more government. Making leave mandatory would be more government regulation and there would be many different interested parties that would want to oppose that on top of the businesses that would be affected.

Every time the government gets involved in regulating industry like that the cost of labor in the US goes up which leads to more lower paying jobs going away to other countries. Which leads to more poor which are the ones that really need the help to begin with. It is the same issue with everyone thinking raising the minimum wage to $15 would be a good thing. It is if you want all McDonald's employees to be replaced by robots. They will be cheaper at that point for sure. It is already teetering on the edge now.

It isn't Bernie or any other president that has to come up with a way to pay for it. It is the corporations with employees that would have to pay for it. I am all for the government being more interested in the welfare of the public. Forcing things on companies like that usually has more bad repercussions than it does good, IMO.

this has a unique cross section of nerd love potential - teenage mutant ninja turtles (a number of us grew up on the cartoon or comics), 4 player coop beat em up (another thing some of us grew up on in the arcades) and platinum games which, in all honestly, I get a boner just typing their name. it might suck, no one knows. that potential though, could be pretty awesome.

Gamestop 50% bonus.  you dont need to be prime or whatever their membership is called to get the 50% right?  It doesnt say it on the site but just want to be sure.    I havent been to or paid attention to any Gamestop deals in years.

Ok well maybe mandatory is a bad idea, but I still feel the option should be available for every American if they want it. A company can find a way to get by for 2 to 4 to however many weeks so parents can bond with their new children and as a family. And if McDonalds or Wal-Mart is suffering so much from paying their workers, maybe reduce the pay in your overinflated board or CEO or whoever fuck is making more money than they can spend.

I actually think the current system is ok. fmla covers the allowance for the 16 weeks of leave without fear of losing your job, it's just too bad it has to be consecutive (so you could go back and earn some money but still leave for a bit if the lady needs help). I always take my 16 weeks whether I can cover it with vacation/sick time or not because it's totally worth it but I obviously understand not everyone has that luxuty.

correct. it rang up with the 50% bonus before I even handed them my card.

I don't think you need to be a paid PowerUpRewards member to get the 50% bonus.

EDIT: Mild'd with confirmation.
