PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Speaking of pet peeve, one thing that drives me nuts is when people answer calls at work on speakerphone. We have a couple people here who you're almost guaranteed to be on speakerphone with them if you call them. Just pick up the fucking receiver you lazy asshole!

So TLOU multiplayer? (although I enjoyed my time with it)
I was actually going to say that the combat feels like a slightly improved TLoU. And obviously it's just a beta so maybe the guns get a lot better the further into it you go, but everything I tried was just spray and pray. So much recoil one every gun means you can shoot 100 bullets and maybe 15 will hit someone.

I'll wait a month for when it drops to $20 to pick it up.

Hows that Luftwaffe game? Everything I read made it sound dreadful. Is it dreadful?

#MunkyPetPeeve
I like it actually. It isnt as fun as a twin stick but its still a competent bullet hell type shooter. It is just pretty basic. But there are upgrades. And you do have to replay a lot of levels to get all the kills and upgrade enough to beat the final stages/boss. But its a good game for mindless pew pew while listening to some heavy metal or even some rap. I was even listening to some Fetty Wap last night. Im gangsta.

Jesus, I didn't read the thread all morning and I missed so much.  I'm the worst butt buddy ever!

I wasn't here to yell at people for complaining about having to bend over for Tyler when he was being a total asshole to everyone this morning.  Hold on, that didn't actually happen, that was just something velo said.

Well I wasn't here to defend Tyler when he told wren, zimm, and topside that there are plenty of hotter fish in the sea, implying that their ex-wives/soon to be ex-wives and mothers of their children are all ugly.  Because that's pretty much the worst thing you can say to another pe... wait, no, that was velo who said that again.

I guess I just have no fucking clue what the hell I'm talking about because I've done waaaaaay too many drugs in my life.  Damn it, I'm thinking of someone else again...

Screw this, I'm going to go play a great game like watchdogs and not some indie crap that cheapens the library.

I've been using Google Music lately because my phone came with a 3 month trial. I Spotify more. It's easier to navigate and find stuff. All the content is pretty much the same. Plus with Spotify my wife can use it on her phone too.

And there's a ton of Fetty War.

Wife can use google music on her phone too if its android, you just sign in to your google account on her phone in the music app.

Ive had a google music sub since the day it launched, grandfathered in at a lower price than it is now, I like it fair enough but ive never used another music service either so what do I know.

Yea reading that ars article, expectations are definitely tempered now. I loved the combat style of gears but it sounds like they went for that but missed the mark.

Holy fucking shit.

Maybe you dont make an indie game that cost 40 dollars? Or realize the fact that piracy does not equal a lost sale necessarily. If your game is pirated, most likely the people doing that in this day and age were never going to pay for your game to begin with.

Also, how about you dont put it out on pc next time if piracy scares you so much?

Son of a bitch. I went to visit and have lunch with my grandma and I missed the troll. I could've laid down some super sweet sick burns, too.

And now they'll go unused. Thanks, Grandma!

Found most of your guy's kilik's IGN account, posting about The Witness:

"Pretentious piece of shit game, it is a glorified connect the dots game that the "professional" press loves it because it came from this dickhead and the PSlaves that clearly didnt bought the game think is perfect because of the exclusity. Like anyone cares? Cashbrag piece of shit that dont compare to myst. Hell, even Unravel is most likely better than this shit, thank god for the steam refund policy and batman"

Similar:

When the tech supervisors call from their office down the hall instead of walking out to talk to you.

  • People who ask you to log in a specimen after walking past three computer terminals where they themselves could have done it. (Ditto with labels)
  • People who ask if a result has been turned out before they file away the specimen. (I don't know. Look it up. You think I keep track of every result? Who do you work with that don't turn things out?)
  • Nurses asking what tube is need to draw something. We put that information on the labels for a reason.
  • Calling us to ask if you can add-on a test. We have a specifically designated add-on printer for this reason.
I could go on like this all day.

(please don't)

Your comment is terrible for a whole lot of reasons.

1) Why would a price point ever justify piracy?

2) The game is "indie" only because it doesn't have a major publisher. The games been in development for several years and I'd guess over a million dollars have gone into its creation. Just because he didn't sign with Ubisoft to publish it doesn't mean it has to cost $15.

3) Piracy apologists are fucking stupid. You're right, not every single person who downloads it illegally would have bought it. But just because someone thinks "oh I wouldn't buy this" doesn't give them the right to steal it and play it for free. They're still gigantic fucking twats for doing so.

1) called supply and demand, basic econ. His price is too high for the type of game it is, indie or not.

2) concede your point

3) not apologizing, just stating that JUST because someone pirates it doesnt mean they would have ever bought, no matter the price.

Guessing overall sales are low so far which is why he is complaining about piracy.

Then it won't sell well, he'll lose money on the project, and hopefully learn a lesson when making future games. It absolutely doesn't justify people stealing it.

Not saying it justifies anything, im saying that helps the underlying reasons people use to justify it to themselves to steal it. Piracy is wrong, agree with you there, but again equating 1 pirated copy = 1 lost sale doesnt hold up, people would have stole it regardless most likely but the price prolly doesnt help either.

piracy is dumb, but so is not expecting piracy of your new and highly publicized game in 2016.  you can complain about it (and Blow's complaining seems really light in those quotes on neogaf) but you have to plan and prepare for it, it's just part of the deal.  if you really want to keep the piracy number low (not zero, it's never going to be zero), stick to console publishing and skip on the pc master race.  you'll lose sales from the pc crew, but you also won't have all of those 'lost' sales to piracy.  they'll just be lost because you didn't publish on pc.

besides $40 is totally a fine price for the witness.

...

for me to poop on.

As a self proclaimed Playstationlave, I think any game that costs more than $0.00 is too much.  Therefore I get all my games from either my plus subscription or piracy, and that is perfectly fine.  Thank god for batman.

Blow isn't a Phil Fish level of a whiner, but he's not far off. So him complaining is not that surprising. That being said, he tweets don't really come off as that big of a complaint anyway.

There were some interesting comments on NeoGAF about how developers worried about piracy should go console-first, and only do a PC port several months down the line if demand is still there.

You too, congrats again on the albatross.
I hope I hit an albatross on too this weekend.

The real bird that is.

I am playing golf but I know I will never get a double eagle.

Then again hitting a bird that isnt found natively in Florida may be harder to do. Is it extinct too?

Jist of what i said, if piracy is a big concern, dont release on pc.

Some people would pirate it even if it was $2. They come up with all sorts of reasons to justify.

I did pirate some software back in the day but honestly everything I use is legit now and has been for many years. A vast majority I never even used. Still wrong no mater the justification.

Can't afford it or don't think it is worth what they are asking wait for a sale or don't buy it. As you know almost all games go on sale eventually for a fraction of what it cost new.

I do agree when software publishers say we lost X million to piracy those numbers are typically bullshit but still doesn't justify piracy.

Why is $40 for an indie game such a ridiculous prospect for an indie game? This is such a shitty mentality. Reviewers are reporting 40 hours of playtime that they adored. That's generally as much or more than you get out of your $60 AAA title. I think a future of indie titles that are significantly bigger than what you get in these $10-15 games that are released sounds awesome. There is totally a place for "AA" indie titles and I expect you're going to see much more interesting things going on in that space than what Activision and Ubisoft are cranking out.

Probably a big reason PC gaming isn't what it once was (IMO anyway). Once game publishers had a closed system and piracy was a lot harder to pull off many of them bailed on the PC market. Is it even possible to really pirate games on PS4 and XBox One? Most of the games on PC back in the day it was pretty trivial for some hacker group to crack them in a day or two.

Maybe code generators might still work?

INDIEBOX SHIP ME MY fuckING NUCLEAR THRONE ALREADY!!!

And they're based in Orlando so it's going to take forever to get to me anyways!

Their February game is being shown off at PAX South. Its Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, which comes to PS4 on the 9th. I'll probably re-up for 6 months at the cheaper rate. Probably get 5 crappy PC only indies after that, but we'll see.

I just shipped a box to a friend in Orlando on Saturday. It got to him last night. Going by that, you might get it in 2017.

Cause indies suck and are ruining gaming.

Duh.

40 dollars for the witness is a ridiculous amount to me, being indie has nothing to do with it. (again, aint played and have no plans to, but I aint gonna pirate it on pc either)

Im prolly gonna buy firewatch at release and it will most likely be 30-40 too
