Or maybe they just forgot that January 31st is a thing for the purposes of their email calculations, because the 36 trophies were all done on that day. Anyone else missing all trophies from yesterday on their TT January email summary (they show up on the actual site ok)?
edit: Vig'd
TT is in in West Sussex which is GMT, so if they are going by that 4PM should still have been plenty of time to get in those trophies before midnight.
I was telling Zimm about a big drawback of Shareplay, in case he wasn't familiar with it since he doesn't have a PS4. Since they mentioned Shareplay in the description, I was basically just explaining how it doesn't make up for real online coop for Trophy hunters.
Your support of local only coop is sickening to me.
I agree local only coop is sickening, but I still dont know why you think not having online co op hurts a game that doesnt require it? If they had some co op trophies then yes, that game with a passion. Otherwise whats the big deal? You played Geometry Ways solo too and its still a great game is it not?
Also, I am just ing with you as I would be happy with any of those games from what I know about them now. Broforce and Cactus are 1/2 either way but Henk seems decent too.
Dang, really been looking forward to both broforce and aac. Both of them will probably launch at the same price point too, so.... Assault Android Cactus here probably. Broforce got canned on vita, and as far as I can tell, AAC should still be coming to vita. Hopefully with crossbuy.
What she said is still fine. She did not talk about it being available at launch for Vita. It is still coming though unlike Broforce apparently and is in fact cross-buy.

Yeah it's not that big of a deal at all. But the game is clearly designed for co-op (based on media and videos from the game showing multiple characters) whereas Geometry Wars 3 was designed for single player with a small coop campaign thrown in.
Both games would be fine, but definitely pulling for Broforce.
Both should be $15 if they launch at their current Steam prices.
I like how the Assault Android Cactus devs know they dropped the ball on online coop so much that they actually include a whole paragraph about Shareplay in their description.
I can certainly understand the temptation for a small dev team. Why put in all the effort and ongoing expense of online infrastructure when there is an existing feature which can do 60% of the job for free.

Is it really an ongoing expense and something that requires infrastructure? I realize that some games do have servers to host the games but I assumed quite a few titles simply connect to PSN to negotiate a peer-to-peer connection that has nothing to do with the game developer/publisher.

60% is generous. Shareplay can only be done with 2 people, right? So maybe if you have 2 people in each household then you can get up to 4 player coop, but most people wouldn't be in that situation. It also only needs one person to own the game instead of both players, which could potentially reduce total sales. Also they have a Steam version out which obviously doesn't have Shareplay.
We've talked about it before and I understand maintaining servers and everything is probably pretty expensive. But as a consumer I will still hold it against co-op focused games that don't provide online co-op.
BTW, I'll be voting Broforce. I just mentioned Action Henk looking fun because nobody had commented on it. Gives me a Joe Danger 2: The Movie kind of vibe with the bright colors and silly race mechanics.
Not sure. I have a stupid meeting from 11-12, I usually like to take an early lunch (11 or 1115ish) to beat the lunch rushes, but I'm gonna have to wait now. I might just stay on campus and eat in the food court.
I don't need it out at launch though. PS4 version will be available to try out and play. Realistically I'll probably put more time into a game like this once it hits vita. Same thing happened with geometry wars 3, bought GW3 at launch, played a little, put it down, and didn't play again until it hit vita. PS+ and then crossbuy would be awesome for that.
Amplitude question. There's one song that unlocks if you score well in the campaign. I guess I didn't score well enough. I assume I have to reset the campaign and start over (which is fine), but do we know exactly what the requirements are for unlocking that last campaign unlock song? Also can you get it by play the campaign on easy, or do you have to play at a higher difficulty to score well enough?
I'm pretty sure you just have to meet the "goal" for each segment in the campaign (e.g., get 9 total stars or whatever across all song in a segment). Once you do that the final song unlocks. I don't think difficulty matters, but I'm kind of just talking out of my ass.
My indiebox finally shipped, hoping to have it by the end of the week. I'm crazy excited to check out the game finally, but I'm assuming the patch still hasn't dropped otherwise someone here probably would have mentioned it.
In this case, I agree with him. I think AAC will get more votes from the Vita only crowd. Admittedly, that is likely a small group but if it is close those people could decide it.

I think (hope) it's pretty clear that Wren and I are (mostly) kidding about our indignation towards each others games, but it was really funny how serious people took the Vote to Play last time. I'm looking forward to tons and tons of salt over this vote as well. It's already started a bit.

I feel like everyone dropped the ball last time by not voting Armello, let’s not do it again people.

Anybody play Adventure Time: Secret of the Nameless Kingdom? Looks fun. Not sure if it's worth $10 for a digital copy for Vita, though--doesn't seem like it had a physical release there.

I wonder if there will be as many people up in arms about this vote though, all three games seem like they'd appeal to a similar crowd. They don't seem as vastly different as the falling simulator, terrible beat em up, and board game.
If anything I'd expect it to just be the anti-indie squad complaining as usual.
I don't understand people saying the ball was dropped on Grow Home instead of Armello. All games had videos and descriptions and people still picked the shittiest looking one of the three. And nearly everyone here was excited about it! Damn we have such short memories.

Nah, no patch yet. I've been playing it a lot without issue, though. Just be VERY CAREFUL if you need to pause and set down your controller during a run (don't accidentally hit R2). I heard complaints about slowdown, but I've only encountered that like one time after several hours of playtime. I did get booted back to the PS4 main menu on 2 different occasions, but that wasn't a huge deal other than not unlocking the character I should have the one time).
Yeah it's a Dell, but pretty great specs for a reasonable price. Didn't pay anything OOP since it was literally all Amazon funny money.
I played through Gone Home on it last night.
It was ok. I think I sort of had it ruined by Greg Miller since he didn't spoil it but said "I kept thinking it was a horror game"...which is basically saying it's not a horror game. Think it would have held more weight if I thought that throughout. Pretty short though, but enjoyable enough for what it was.
It's good though, figure I'll be able to catch up on some older games (DMC, Dead Space, Darksiders, Ghostbusters etc.) that I already own in my Steam library and play some new ones that won't come to the PS4, maybe I'll even get in the New Tomb Raider before it goes PS4.

P.S. - I guess I'm sort of half lumped into that weird (yuck, ewww, why?) PC gamer category now.

I'm late to the party, but I *love* Robert Smith, even though he played for the Buckeyes. He famously quit the team after his freshman year because the coaches pretty much told him to choose between his studies and football. He chose his studies, then sat out a year and they were able to convince him to come back the year after.

The pinball league I've been playing in for the past couple years has ended. Last season the turnout was terrible and this season was going to be just as bad. So I'm switching back to the one I'd been in before, which is fine, and actually better game-wise and definitely in terms of number of players, but it's not a bar. No beer at all, let alone good beer.

yeah he wasnt a typical dumb football player which is why he made a few million (clearly saved some and probably invested wisely) and then left before he got seriously injured.
I can do it then. If everyone makes it we will have 5, but that shouldn't be a problem. I must not be friends with Chewy on TT because Zimm said it looked like he is missing the trophy too. So I guess we could have 6 if he was interested as well.
I'd like to knock that out with you guys tonight as well if possible. I've got BBall practice first, so you all may be done. I'll hop on and see if I can help when I get home. Will be 10:30 eastern so you all will probably be done by then.

Forgot to mention it here over the weekend, but out of curiosity I grabbed a six pack of Blue Moon First Peach Ale at the grocery store. Stuff is delicious to me, even if the peach flavor is closer to candy peach flavor than actual fruit.

I dont think any of us mind at all, but just like kilik you wont be able to play online yet. You have to beat the entire first world which is like 5 or 6 levels. None would be that long if it werent for tutorial junk.
