PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Any here have Shadow Warrior on disc?  Just read this at pst.org:

"Some people have reported their disc copy of Shadow Warrior PS4 doesn't work, with an error message appearing shortly after launching it. Unfortunately, as of September 2015, this still hasn't been patched and the only solution that seems to work is to log out of PSN or temporarily disconnect your console's internet connection while playing the game.""

Maybe I won't get the disc after all...

damn just read about Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA... I kinda wonder how you can even taste anything at 120 IBUs, that sounds insane.
That beer is excess everything. It is so hoppy it feels abrasive in your mouth. So boozy it burns like liquor going down. I like it, but I am not sure if I would pay the $10+ for a single 12 oz bottle ever again. I assume you know it can not be legally sold in GA due to it being above the 14% ABV cap on beer.

I didn't know that. I'm just reading to pass the time.

But that cap makes no sense.

Whoa, that's weird. I wonder if that has happened with any other game.

The first Stadium Classic outdoor hockey game for the Wild up here is scheduled for this coming Sunday.  Current forecast is 40 and rain.  That should be fun.

Had a few tasty beers at Urban Grub on Saturday but didn't have my phone and their menu doesn't list their beers. Can't remember exactly what they were called.  :whistle2:k

I think I'm about to put the Jak Collection back on the shelf. Jak II has been bearably shitty up until this current mission. I have to get to a certain spot while airships constantly respawn and drop off more soldiers. I don't last long fighting, and I can't use the hoverboard because I keep bumping into fat dudes and falling into the water, where a enemy ship instantly kills me. fuck this.

Well, I don't have today off like some of you asshats, but I felt compelled to take an extended lunch and see Deadpool also.  Great, fun movie!

Pretty sure I just spammed the roll move like a maniac to get through that part.

Yea they had a beer list printed out.

I only got one beer there, but it was local, from little harpeth, called chicken scratch.

Mixed drink thing I had was ok, really cant remember much about it though.

forgot you were doing that, howd you like it?

I did one plate of charcuterie ($18) and the steak and eggs ($25.) I completely filled up the plate with goodies so that was nice. The steak was tasty and the hashbrowns were fantastic. We also had the vanilla bean donuts for dessert and those were amazing. The beers were all very good as well. Even the little muffins and biscuits they brought us at the beginning were tasty. We'll be going back, though not regularly due to the price.

I beat it on PS3, but this is the part that made me quit the PS2 version. Seriously, fuck that shit.

Jak 3 was a good game though, I'd skip Jak 2 and play Jak 3 once you're over being pissed off at Jak.

We did the charcuterie for an app, stuff was really good, got all the house made stuff.

I got those hashbrowns with my steak as my side, they were amazing.

Agree that its good, but a little pricey for what it is.

For anyone with Wolfenstein The Old Blood for PS4 in their backlog still, I thought I would chime in with some praise.  Lot of fun and not overly long.  Took me 11.75 hours according to my save to play through the game on easy while hunting down the collectables.  I finished off my first play through on normal last night, and thought I would see if the Uber glitch is still live.  I can confirm it still works.  (glitch is play campaign on easy or normal, then fire up the last chapter on Uber difficulty.  Complete the last chapter and it will pop the trophy)  If they haven't patched that glitch by now, it will likely never get patched.

The last level is really short.  And you can sneak your way past the first section of the chapter, thus making Uber even easier.  Then I'll post a tip on the final boss behind a spoiler that I found online.  It makes the last boss ridiculously easy.  And if you click the spoiler, I don't give away what the boss is, so I guess no spoilers are contained in the spoiler?

If you go in and go up the stairs on the left, and stand on the 2nd or 3rd step from the top, the boss can't touch you there.  The only thing you have to do is avoid soldiers that occasionally come, but it is completely doable because the main boss actually helps you kill the soldiers, and the only times I died, were from soldiers, never the boss.  I never once got frustrated, I just restarted and tried again.  I felt more guilty than frustrated because it was so easy.  And you don't need a powerful gun either.  I first was using the strongest guns to take him down, but found the regular old standard machine gun worked just as well if not better

No hard or fast rule on that. Some are ok for longer. Personally, I do not want SW IPA if it is older than a month which would be 2 months before the best by date. 4 months is pretty old but I am not sure you are going to have a lot of luck getting fresh stuff down there. It is hard for me to find here.

Hey Stotch, at Cigar City I had the Redner, Northdale (name of the area/golf course I played at too!) and Strawberry Shortcake because they only make it once a year.  Good shit.

Now have a drink ya tee totaling hippie!

True, I guess I won't really know what I'm missing anyway, since I suppose I've never really had a really fresh one.

I just can't help but wonder how much of a difference it makes though.

Wow, snobby beer snobs are funny.

This ipa is too old!

Funny, the style was first brewed to last LONGER. India in the IPA name come from the beer being shipped to india back in the 1800s when the brits controlled it. They brewed the beer to have a ton of hops in it to make it keep longer on the trip to india.

(I get that it might be completely different in bottle versus in a wooden cask/barrel, but still funny to me)

I'm curious about what happens to beer when it's too old. Sometimes I get a beer I like and it ends up having a caramel taste that I don't like. Is that due to it being too old or did I just not notice the caramel taste before?

Yes that was why the style was initially created, but people that drink IPAs now want the intense hop bitterness. That fades over time. Nothing snobby about knowing the flavors you like. If other people are OK with older IPAs, so be it. If others only want them fresh then they will vote with their wallets.

Fair enough, I can still think its funny though. Prolly find it even funnier to me since I dont really care for ipa that much.

Caramel flavors would be more from the malt used. Since that is a sweet flavor, a fresher IPA would hide a bit of that since the bitterness would be more pronounced and would counteract the sweetness.

If you had said butterscotch or butter instead of caramel, then that would be diacetyl which is a byproduct of brewing gone wrong. I have only ever noticed that flavor in one homebrew beer. I feel lucky that I do not usual taste it since a lot of beer geeks claim they taste it in all kinds of beers. I always wonder if they WANT to taste it or their sense of taste is just that much more sensitive than mine. Either way, I am happy to not be in that camp.
