PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

So either I Am Alive got swapped for something else or there's something weird going on because I just bought it free from the PS+ list.

Broforce and Super Stardust HD were missing. Maybe it was swapped for SSHD.

yeah, you need to move. The Florida Georgia line is probably the worst inbred area in the country.
Yeah I'd love to. Kinda stuck here now though, with both me and my gf (who I absolutely plan to hang on to) having kids from split homes with the other parents living here.

Yeah that RE Origins disc is sweet. Can just wait around for it to hit $20/$16, so $8 a game with resale value. Definitely won't bother with the digital versions unless they hit $5 or less.

Canceled my Twilight Princess HD order. Would have to get like $40 for the game alone to make keeping the amiibo worthwhile, which I don't see happening. I'll just wait til the Wolf Link amiibo releases separately, probably won't be more than a month or so.

Wait a minute, who says this sale sucks?

Attacking Zegata is $5!

Doom Ps4 is only $53.99!

Seriously though, I am probably gonna get Doom on release date, but physical of course.  HHYYYPPPPPEEE

If I am Alive replaced SSHD that sucks for those that didnt play it yet.  I Am Alive might be alright but SSHD is a superb twin stick.

Either way I dont care since #noPS3

I will definitely be playing it again. Beyond though... not so sure about that one.
yeah? I'll pick up Beyond as soon as I can get a good price on it even though most folks say it's worse. My favorite thing about Heavy Rain was finding out what happened (and then seeing all the other possible outcomes was actually even more entertaining). Now that I know all about it I'd expect it to be a drag for another playthrough, but maybe not. At least it's real good looking.

Beyond has some really awesome set pieces and vignettes and some of the best graphics on PS3, but good fucking god that ending is both dumb and way too long.

I definitely liked Beyond more than Heavy Rain up until the end, but they Beyond ending is just so bad.

I probably won't play either of them again.

Yeesh. $30 for the PS4 version of Heavy Rain.
I have waited this long to play it I can wait till it is on sale. Wanted to buy the Beyond two Souls a while back. They were giving 20% of pre ordering heavy rain but couldn't get the 20% PSN code to work. Just glad it is a decent sale away from being mine.

Yeah I played Beyond on PS3 and the ending went on and on. I would pick up the two of them for a decent price on PS4 though.

play it without a guide.
I would make one addendum if you want to plat, very light spoiler.

When you get to the "Bear," look up the QTE combination to pass it. If you don't perfect it now then you'll have to replay 80% of the game to get the plat.

I played it without a guide the first time and because I messed that early bit up I couldn't stomach replaying so much of the game to get the plat since you can't just fix individual chapters, you have to replay the entire game from the point you missed it. You also can't skip any dialogue. It's the squirrel of Heavy Rain IMO as I did all the other "things" just fine without help, but because the first is so twitch based its easy to mess up.

speaking of guides I'm totally using one on grim fandango.  my 37 year old mind can't fathom the obtuseness of 90s adventure games anymore.  how on earth would I figure out that I need to ask a clown for dead worms which are actually deflated balloons to fill with two different fluids that turn in to expanding styrofoam so I can use them in a pneumatic tube to mess up 'the server' so I can go in to the server room, distract the repairman, and turn the lock on the door all so I can sneak back in to it later, open the door and put a playing card (that I'm supposed to punch a hole in at the receptionist's desk) to briefly stop a cylinder in the pneumatic tube system and read the card in the cylinder so I can steal a job from my jerk of a coworker?

Yes, adventure games are terrible. They are exempt from the no-guide rule because it's such a terrible, terrible genre.

I did not need to know that for the low price of 89 cents I could have my own ridiculous OG Star Trek psn avatar. But now I've got to pick one...

#nope

Yeah I use guides all the time on subsequent playthroughs and stuff. But I think playing that game with a guide on a first playthrough would take a lot out of the experience.
It does, hours of doing stupid shit to get the plat later that you could have avoided.

To be serious though, almost all the interactive movie games like that have spoiler free guides that just tell you what to decide and where to save. You are going to end up seeing the result of the choices you would have made anyway if you are going to go for the plat in any of them anyway. I enjoy those types of games for the stories unless they just get all full of themselves like Life is Strange and Beyond seemed to. I know I would not enjoy it more just because I did some random thing that never should have made a difference slightly differently to avoid yet another playthrough later.

Oh man, and I just got a Spelunky avatar.

But it's gotta be Bones, right? It's just gotta be.

(Evil Spock is also a great looking avatar)

But making those decisions yourself is such a huge part of the game. It's the whole reason the branching paths exist.
