I don't know, I think it looks like it'll be fun. I laughed a few times at least. Doesn't seem like Melissa McCarthy will be randomly screaming obscenities and her usual schtick which is cool.

I saw your post pre-edit and it led me to the wikipedia page on Winston Zeddemore. learned some useless trivia today about the history of his qualifications.

Also, and this is nitpicky, I never considered Winston a scientist, even if he did have a PH.D, which a casual fan wouldn't know because it's only mentioned in a DVD commentary, so that 4 scientists saved New York line had me like :whistle2:k .

Here's a pic of Best Buy's steelbook for The Force Awakens:

Is that a hipster? Or just a plain old douche bag?
hipster doucheus
I'd go with douche bag and early 2000s Avril Lavigne fan.
There's a difference?
Guys, they're swedish. What looks like a hipster douchebag to us in Sweden is probably just an old farm worker who sends all of his meager earnings home to his parents.

I like how we're just glossing over the fact that there's a guy holding a bucket of KFC chicken.
There we go! Finally someone gets it.

I know that's an option, but I don't want him to kill Ornstein first because I read that Super Ornstein is nigh-impossible on NG+. I suppose it's possible that I might kill Smough faster...

I'm not sure how to describe my build, but these are the stats I remember:

Soul Level 66

VIT 24

Attunement 12

END 24

STR 18

DEX 20

INT 15

RES 12

Faith 25 (to be able to enter the Sunlight covenant)

My character has Quelaag's Furysword + Crest Shield, and the Gold-Hemmed Dark Set equipped in every slot but gloves, where I have the Silver Knight Gloves instead. I also have an Ascended Pyromancy Flame (unleveled beyond getting the original flame to +15 then ascending it) and two equipped rings: Cloranthy Ring (+50% stamina regen) and Ring of Steel Protection (+50 physical defense).
I don't remember which I killed first, though Ornstein (and I assume super Ornstein) is weak to fire and you should have some pretty hefty pyromancies and fully upgraded glove in NG+. In either case, (Great) Combustion is good for the fight, it has a short range but is decently powerful and a VERY quick cast.

You can further boost the damage by swapping in a bellowing dragon ring which you can buy from griggs and the dusk crown helm (which I think you can access before killing them). The Dusk crown boosts casting damage, but increases magical damage to you, but since Farley and Spade don't use magic it shouldn't be an issue.

The Power Within pyromancy which boosts all damage (including weapon damage) +50% for 100 seconds, but causes constant damage will also help you win the race. Since Smough is slower you should have no trouble being able to occasionally top of your HP if Solaire is keeping Ornstein busy.

Though Smough is stronger against fire, with the spell buffing I would expect you to be able to still outdamage the Sunbro. Then once you've used pyromancy to win the race you can use your remaining charges and the chaos sword to chip away at Super Ornstein.

You are going to have a really hard time killing Smough first solo since Ornstein is so quick.

That moment when you answer a supervisor's question about why something doesn't work, and they immediately go to the person behind you to ask the exact same question and get the exact same answer (because that person told you when you reported the problem).

This isn't that surprising, but Ubisoft literally recycled Far Cry 4's map to make Far Cry Primal's: http://www.destructoid.com/ubisoft-recycled-far-cry-4-map-making-far-cry-primal-346160.phtml
It's just Blood Dragon on a much larger scale. Since it's set back in time there's a decent excuse for it. I wouldn't be surprised if originally Primal was going to be another $15 standalone expansion, but they liked the idea so much that they decided to make it a fully fledged game. Like Saint's Row 4.

Still waiting on my 40% off Shiren.

Early Access for Paragon starts on 3/18:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/03/03/paragon-all-heroes-free-early-access-begins-march-18th/

Does anybody care about this? I'm hoping not, tbh.
I tried out the smite beta, and I just don't think MOBAs are for me. They seem overly complicated to play even if they've got some fairly basic controls. I think I'll just stick to occasionally watching League matches while playing something that's actually fun.

On potential double dips doesn't the 20% have to also come off before it's listed? When I go to checkout it comes up full price right now.
it has to not have the 20% applied yet. then it sometimes gets 2 x 20% applied to the order later instead of just the 1 x 20%.

Thanks, though the outlook is grim since my Shiren preorder doesn't show any discount yet.

No--Grand Kingdom didn't have any discount before the double-stack applied.

EDIT: Sage'd AND Mild'd.

Yes, we see he got a doctorate at some point in the PS3 Ghostbusters game, though I highly doubt he had it at the time of the first Ghostbusters movie, especially since they don't ever refer to him as Dr. Zeddemore in the first two films.

Thanks--I'll try using Power Within + Great Combustion solo before calling for Solaire. I actually got to Super Ornstein's phase twice last night during my 15-20 tries, but I was nearly out of flasks both times and he killed me with lucky shots.

Do you think I should try upgrading the Silver Knight armor set and wear that instead as long as my weight limit stays under 50%? I doubt the Gold-Hemmed set's high status resistances will help me here.

Yeah, MOBAs aren't for me either. I posted the update because I wasn't sure if anybody here is into that stuff but I'm definitely not. MP-only games without a story to progress through and finish just feel like a waste of time.

Dead Island is apparently getting a "Definitive Collection" on 5/31: http://gematsu.com/2016/03/dead-island-definitive-collection-leaked-ps4-xbox-one

Dead-Island-Definitive-Collection-Ann_001.jpg

About

Dead Island: Definitive Collection contains Dead Island: Definitive Edition, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition and a brand new stand-alone 16-bit game Dead Island: Retro Revenge.

Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition are fully remastered versions of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide including all released DLC and patches.

Dead Island: Retro Revenge is a brand new stand-alone 16-bit game set in the style of a classic side-scrolling action / endless runner within the Dead Island universe.

Best Buy's listing shows a $39.99 MSRP: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dead-island-definitive-collection-playstation-4/5066005.p?id=bb5066005&skuId=5066005
Makes sense. Deep Silver has already remastered a bunch of their games like Saints Row and Metro.

I preferred Dead Island over Dying Light, though I'm not sure I'd play it again on remaster. It does drag at times, especially during a large sewer section in the middle of the game.
