PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

That video had way fewer white people in it than I expected.
I've been telling you guys that the actual city of Salt Lake is pretty diverse. It gets super white and mormony as you get out to the suburbs, but the actual city limits where I grew up has tons of other ethnicities besides white people.

Luther Season 4 episode 1 was real good. Episode 2 tried to do too much and everything started to feel kinda half-assed and rushed. It was like that Seinfeld bit where I knew the show only had about 15 mintues left and I was like "Hey, they can't make it! There's no way they wrap this up in time."

They did their best to try and wrap it all up but it didn't click. I still like Luther though and its an intense show to watch, but I wish they had cut out a storyline somewhere.

jesus what happened on the debate last night???

People make fun of the size of Trumps hands. So he says if his hands are small, his dick would be small too. And then he makes sure to guarantee us that his dick is a good size. Because we care about that.

Personally when I'm voting I'm up there like ok who has the biggest hands and the biggest dick? Well I guess hillary is out.

Also think I am going to quit Flame Over.  Too annoying going over the same fire a bunch of times and having to rotate a lot on the small Vita screen. I think I would give it more time on the PS4 but its too much of a hassle on Vita.

Ill try it again at least once more though.  We will see.

Funny... I was just getting ready to say the opposite. Took a few tries for me to get into it... there's a slight barrier to entry, especially with no tutorial. Played it for a few hours this morning and after I got the hang of things I had a lot of fun with it.

Did you read tyler's tips? They helped me out a lot in knowing how to approach things... especially the one about going for the fuse box first.

I didn't read the tips but figured out the box was important already. Also doing miss ions mission. But just getting there even for those few minutes isn't that fun to me. I'll try it one more time but move on if it doesn't grab me. I have a shit ton of games I can play so I am not going to keep trying something if I don't like it after a few tries.

Also the Vita is a barrier here. On ps4 it wouldn't aggravate me as much. The nubs aren't as good as true sticks and take more effort to maneuver.

Helldivers pros:

Did they change the requirements for the "complete a level 7+ mission" without taking damage? I did a level 10 using the mech and I never took any damage outside of the mech but the trophy still didn't pop.

Wow @ those boobs at 0:54 and 1:34. I'm not sure if that's new or if I just never noticed in the previous footage.

Oh, you didn't read the tips and still figured it out, huh? What... you think that makes you some kind of Flame Over pro now? You think you're smarter than me just because you didn't read some lame tips that nobody needs to play the game?

The attack trophy for helldivers should pop for anyone that needs it this early afternoon. I did an attack mission last night to get in on it..

The yellow bar was pretty well above the red when I checked this morning.

it didn't click with me what it was when tyler mentioned ironcast. stumbled on it this morning, and i really want to buy it. 20% plus discount atm too. vita version would have been an instant buy.

Opened a new tab and I'm stuck on the front page! Help!

Edit: Weirdly after I clicked a link on the front page redirect it lead me to a broken URL that would just show the front page every time. Clicking the link again worked though?  :wall:

Lost about 30 min or so of progress in Ni No Kuni due to the storm that just popped up out of nowhere. Not a big deal as I should be able to do what I lost in about 15 min or so today. The power surged just enough for the TV to shut off twice with my PS3 still running while I was trying to save. It finally went out altogether just as I was about to push X to save.

Could've been worse though. At least we didn't blow away.

Or it could have gone out while writing the save file and corrupted it.

That'll go great with my overabundance of 90s midwestern ska punk and metal covers of video game classics!

So good.

I legitimately enjoyed that one lol. And I know I've got more than a few OC remix cd's downloaded...

Stotch would be proud.  I bought more stuff for my mid life crisis.

New driver the other day and now new irons and bag.  Thats about $900 out the door in total.

Multiple save files. I alternate with every save. C'mon Therm this is jrpg rule number one bro.

I also have them backed up to online storage as well of course.
In that case I'd be doomed if my power went out. Then PS+ would save me after I stopped freaking out about a dead save.

The XBL deals thread has decided to have everyone list their top 5 360 games.

5) I AM jumping up and down, Kinect

4) What the hell am I going to do with these HD DVDs now

3) How to appear to really have a 360 in Oman without getting a lifetime ban

2) RROD Towel trick

1) Please last long enough so I can dump it off at Gamestop

Seriously how can you guys live with yourselves only having one save file? I guess it's not as important with PS+ cloud saves but it's just such a habit to me that I always have at least two save files no matter what I'm playing, as long as it has manual saves as an option.

speaking of the most irritating thing in the world - NOBODY START GRIM FANDANGO

I totally get the nostalgia factor for old adventure games.  I played the first monkey island games over and over and over and at least once through most of the other sierra/lucasarts big titles.

but now it's 2016.  and it's painful.  the worst part, hands down, is not the obtuse puzzles - those can actually be a little funny (with a guide of course, none of it makes sense without).  it's not the dopey dialog which I think is actually pretty good.  the aesthetics of the game are great.

It is the fact that the main character walks at a rate of about 1 centimeter per hour and everything is spaced insanely far apart.

I timed it at one point last night - it took me just under three minutes to walk from one objective to another.  then I discovered that I'd forgotten to talk to one guy to get an item I needed.  so I had to walk all the way back (+3 minutes), talk to the guy and get the item, hoof it to another location (+1.5 minutes), exchange the item for something else and then walk back to that next objective (+2 minutes).  So I spent almost 10 minutes just holding forward on the thumbstick to move my character essentially one teeny tiny step through the game's overall events.  If I had to guess, out of the 7-8 hours I've played so far, I bet 6 hours of it was spent holding forward on the stick, walking.

I've always wanted to play this game since I did have such a deep fondness for the old point and click adventure games when I was a kid, but damn I wish I would've played it back then instead of now.

Huh. Does everybody do this? I never do unless needed for a trophy or something along those lines.

Did you end up going through the whole game on easy? I remember that coming up in here at one point. I've died I think 3 times on normal and that was always due to taking the wrong approach on a boss or wandering into an area I wasn't ready for. I've been exploring a bit though and I'm not sure if overleveled. It doesn't feel like it, though. :whistle2:k

Yeah I switched it to easy at Old Smoky and never changed it back. I don't think I want to either, especially not during some of the post-game stuff I have coming up.

FYI the main reason I switched to easy is that I kept getting myself killed trying to keep that bitch Esther alive. I'm sure if I'd have stuck it out til she got a little stonger or until the third party member joined, it would've been lots easier on normal.

I've never been particularly interested in the game but had considered a run through it before finding out about this. I knew the Vita version was the wrong version to play because of a shitty trophy thing there. Losing a trophy because you accidentally touched the touchscreen at some point would be absolutely infuriating.

The Right Way

Play the whole game with tank controls. Tim demanded this trophy.

To obtain this trophy, make sure that you turn on tank controls in the Options menu as soon as you start the game and are first given control of Manny. If you leave Manny's office without turning on tank controls, then this trophy will be invalidated and you will have to perform a second playthrough or start a new game.

Yes; tank controls are outdated and clunky but you will get used to them as you play. You may actually find it easier to use the D-pad to control Manny as opposed to Left Analog, but feel free to use whichever you prefer.

If you have successfully played the whole game without turning off tank controls, then the trophy will pop at the beginning of the cutscene at the end of Year 4.

It is unclear whether using the touchscreen on the Vita version (should you choose to play there and/or cross-save your data) will invalidate this trophy. There are conflicting reports available online; some users say using the touchscreen invalidated the trophy while others say the opposite. It is therefore recommended that you do not use the touchscreen during your playthrough if you are going for this trophy.

Ni No Kuni never felt like it needed multiple save files for me. Game always lets you save right before a boss so you can pop back out and level if you need to, never throws more than one boss at you at a time, and you can save pretty much anywhere. I keep two files at least in games where you get stuck battling forever, hit a save point with no heals, and then have to fight another boss. Or in ones with branching dialogue choices. But this one has seemed pretty safe so far.

I want to get in on this multiplayer Broforce action tonight. I can be online at some point after 10 eastern. Could be as late as 11, though.

I've been playing on normal the whole time. It's not bad at all. Yeah, Esther was shit at the beginning, but I'd just let her die, because fuck her. She survives more now that Swaine the hobo is on board, but since she uses all her MP in the first 3 seconds of battle anyway, I just let her stay dead when she dies lol. Got easier to just try and keep a familiar with heals on Oli or Swaine during the dungeons.

Eh, I'll still play it someday.

on paper it's easy, but currently I'm juggling three guides just to find the right combination of things to do. it's definitely easier than vanquish, but there's absolutely nothing that's straightforward about it and so far pretty much every guide sucks. at one point the ign guide just stops. it's like someone was typing up the guide and passed out dead mid-sentence.

Interesting. I think she died twice on me but that was it. I had her AI set to back me up, though. The problem I have is with her MP always being depleted since she's the healer for the party. I wish the AI was a bit more sophisticated so you could assign particular characters to collect glims. Except for taming I always keep in control of Oliver and rarely use him directly--I've stuck to running around with Mite and then switched to a Purrloiner as soon as I could. Oliver almost always has full MP for me and Esther is usually empty.
