PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

So this is bizarre. Playing Hitman Go and I've run into something on 4-7. Seems like a glitch but maybe I'm missing something stupidly obvious. Maybe somebody who has played it has an idea of what's going on.

From this position I can only move left or right, not up or down:

From this position I can only move left, not up to kill the guard with the gun:

I've restarted the game, restarted my Vita, and checked for game updates. Nothing. It's not an issue with the d-pad since I can move up/down everywhere else in the level. Any thoughts on this? Without moving up from either of those spots there's no way for me to complete the level.
Move the camera using the right analog stick until you can move in straight directions (i.e., not angled). That's one of the dumb things about this port--the "dynamic" camera angles that just make it harder to move.

Chase has an offer now for $200 cash back after a $500 spend in 3 months: http://slickdeals.net/f/8358843-chase-aarp-credit-card-offering-200-sign-up-bonus

It's an AARP card (insert Crunchewy joke here), but anyone can get it. Just leave the AARP membership field blank.
Pretty tempted on this but I want to order the Vita right away. Does it give you online access to the account info close to immediately or would I be stuck waiting a week or three for the card to arrive?

What are the keys to doing the level 10+ missions in helldivers?  Every one I've hopped in, I've just gotten absolutely demolished, along with the randoms I jump in with.  I'm assuming it's not something that really feasible trying to do solo.

PS4:

Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault
EA Sports UFC 2

They mentioned there might be more released, so these might just be the games they chose to highlight. It is their 200th podcast and Colin and Greg are on so maybe they didn't want to spend a lot of time on the new releases.

10+ missions are excessively hard to do solo, but there are some tactics. It's definitely easier with a group. Once you're up in the higher difficulties mobility is the most important thing followed closely by deterrence (if that's a word). Use perks to make you faster and bring strats that can slow/distract/stop enemies and if you're solo try to avoid objectives where you have to stand and fight because you'll usually be totally overwhelmed. Running away is always an option.

If you want to team up for them sometime let me know. I still need the trophy for finishing a level 10 planet and I can help you with the one for not dying (got lucky and joined a level 12 mission that just had to extract when I got mine).

It is feasible to do solo, though only if you don't try to engage in a straight up fight. That's where the distractor beacons come in handy. They are good for stealthing, but they are also good when the shit hits the fan. Start running till you get a little ahead of them, then toss it in the opposite direction and once you break their sight lines most of them will get distracted and the heat will die down. That mostly works best on the illuminate though as their units are slow enough that you can outrun most of them. Standing and fighting if it is not required for an objective will only draw more of them to you as each time a scout spots you it will get worse and worse.

A good loadout is a primary weapon that can kill medium armored enemies, armored piercing and/or stun are good attributes lasers also work decently against armor. A stratagem and/or secondary weapon that is a tank buster like a railshot airstrike, a recoiless rifle, demolisher charge, vindicator air strike (fully upgraded), EAT-17 RPGs, obliterater grenade launcher, etc. And some kind of area denial stratagem for the shuttle call like a mine field (when fully upgraded it is also anti-tank), stasis field airstrike, naplam, razor wire, stun mines, tesla tower, one of the two mechs with anti-tank L2 weapons (walker and lumbrer), etc. If you are using a weapon with ammo, it's a good idea to work in a fully upgraded resupply pod.

One of the worst objectives to try and do in a higher level mission is ordinance disposal as not only does it take forever to locate the mines, but while one of you is looking for them, they aren't able to help you kill enemies. If possible try to tackle harder hold this point objectives (like the capture points which you have to keep it clear of enemies) first.

When soloing a lvl 11 mission yesterday for samples I made the mistake of saving a capture point for last and i almost ran out of distractor beacons as I had to keep running away and dropping beacons to draw them away since you can't clear a capture point of enemies fast enough at that difficulty level by yourself.

I'll be busy with other stuff this afternoon but I can help this evening if we want to tackle tougher missions. The HAV (heavy assault vehicle) with at least one repair gun user will also help a lot of with high level missions for a coordinated team as its main gun kills most tanks in one hit.

I'm guessing you'll have to wait a week for them to send you the card. Bonus posts almost immediately after spending the $500.

So save $80 today or save $200 in a week. It's a real life application of the Stanford Marshmallow Experiment!

Side note: Stanford had the best psych experiments in the 70s.

Definitely down for some coop soon. Probably won't be on tonight because it's st patty's celebration weekend.

Traded my PS3 and picked up a XBox One.  Kid tried to screw me and tell me the pick a game thing expired.  Then tried to tell me it was online only.  Traded in two additional DS3s and a Black DS4.   Think I did pretty well consider the credit I had, a Amex GC I had from Christmas.  I forgot to use my prexisiting credit. though.  Only paid $6 tax so that was good.

Think I am going to ding him on the review.  There were two guys working the counter and I knew I wanted the other guy but got this one.

Probably pick up Quantum Break next month.

While going through my boxes of junk found two old 360 controllers was near another Game Stop and unloaded them.  Guy asked me if I opened them I said I might have long ago don't remember.  He asked his manager and the guy said take it.

Still have $54 trade credit and $50 GC.   Either will buy Amazon GCs or maybe trade my OG Vita on a new Blue one.

I also stopped at Target and scanned a few of the 12 month live cards.  All came up at full price.  I didn't try to price match since I couldn't pull up the $17.xx price.

I did have a $20 GC that groupon offered to select people for $10.   It was my wife's account.  Got rechargable batteries for the XBoner.

Kilik let me know what you think of the refurbished blue Vita when you get it.

What do I do with an old laptop to properly dispose of it?
Best buy might take it to recycle it for free. You could pull the drive first if worried about your data on it. They have a recycling page and what they take by state. Also your town or city might have a recycling center. We have someone coming out on Wednesday at work to recycle some stuff. Might bring in a old laptop I don't want.

Another Xboner joins the fray!

Despite not really being into puzzles I liked this. I had to look up quite a few solutions starting out as the game introduces new mechanics steadily. Once I got used to those mechanics and progressed further into the game the puzzles started to click. By the end of the game I was rarely having to check a guide; in the seventh chapter I only had to do it once. Most of the time I did have to look up solutions it was for the "Finish objective in under X turns." Since there are multiple ways to complete a level it wasn't abnormal for me to see a solution and then have trouble finding an alternative that works better since my thought process is already heading in a different direction.

If you like puzzle games I think this one will hit the spot. If you don't, it's still simple and quick enough to complete that it's still probably worth picking up in a sale anyway.

I'm down for coop. The HAV was the key to our level 10 wins last night.

I think you guys that aren't stepping in the Dark zone at the lower levels are setting yourselves up to get fucked later. It looks like everyone in the level 30 DZ is hostile from streams Ive been watching. Youre gonna go in there for the first time, get killed a bunch of times, hate it and claim it sucks. The lower brackets are pretty fair and the level differences arent much of a dealbreaker and
Youre likely to team up with other randoms tryin to hunt the few rogues you come across.

Maybe it was built before George W Bush changed when Day light saving time starts. Some devices have a switch or something to adjust for it.
Nah, he changed when it happens. Sounds like that clock changes when GMT hits 2AM.

I got almost all of them on my first run, but you can always go back on super easy mode and clean them up if you wanna get them later.

I think basketball would be cooler if intentional fouls in the last few minutes weren't allowed. Just allow the game to play at its natural flow like for the whole rest of the game.
