PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

How're you liking Amazing Spider-Man?
Not too far into it yet (I think I'm just starting chapter 3). Loooooots of cut-scenes to start in the first two chapters. Combat is pretty fun, it's very similar to Batman, except for the whole shooting webs at people thing and targeting enemies to web rush. Travelling around the city by swinging seems a little slow, but I haven't done a whole lot yet. It's very easy to get disoriented though when you're swinging all over fuck though, especially during boss battles. Brought Gravity Rush flashbacks to me, though I think GR handled it a little better. Looks good enough too, though you can obviously see the texture reduction on Spider-Man's suit and a more drab overall looking palette, but it's still damn good for a portable game.

TL;DR I'm looking forward to playing more.

Impressive young grasshopper. My little foot stool I was using to house all the figures and "vehicles" has also gotten over run. One day I hope to equal your collection.
I kept running into things in levels where I needed a specific character ability and I'd think "well I have someone who has that, but I'd need to find that box and open it and put it together...I'll just come back later." So I finally just went ahead and opened and assembled everything over the last few days. Now I just have the problem of not having a good place to keep all of them.

And there's still 3 more character packs to be released. Oh boy!

Finally got around to watching the FFXV trailer. I wasn't expecting much but it looks great. I'll check out the demo now. Nice to have Florence + The Machine on a Stand By Me cover, too--sounded great and it worked really well with the video. Should be interesting with such an apparently strong focus on the party and friends aspect. Seems like media often doesn't do a great job of showing off really good friends which can be a lot of fun to watch. I can't think of anything like that since Boston Legal so maybe FFXV will do it.

News story:

Kim Kardashian posed topless with Emily Ratajkowski and posted the pic. I'll just say Emily Ratajkowski is the real star in that picture. Loved her dancing around in Blurred Lines.

I'm willing to bet this is the first (and last) instance in recorded history where Final Fantasy was compared with Boston Legal.

This looks kinda cool. Called Seraph, from the developers of Ironcast.

You don't actually aim your guns. You just jump around and press fire, but the game auto-aims for you. They said they did that so they could focus on the action like dodging hazards and enemies and stuff. Sounds interesting, but maybe could get annoying if the game auto-aims at an unexpected enemy instead of the one you thought it would.

Anyone here ever subscribed to Loot Crate? I'm thinking about it. Seems fun.
I had it for a couple months, first was free because of a code from a friend. It was OK. I mean the stuff you got was usually pretty cool, but I don't have a lot of space to display cool trinkets so it's probably not for me. I like the idea of new t-shirt every month, and lots of the designs I've seen are good. In the end I couldn't justify continuing with how much it cost.

I need to start watching all those Star Wars cartoons. Haven't even watched Clone Wars yet.

How're you liking Giana Sisters?
Clone Wars is solid. Lots of awesome episodes. A good number of iffy ones. Surprisingly/delightfully a lot of dangling storylines that resulted from the show ending (after Disney bought everything) are being picked up in Rebels. So it would benefit you to watch it first. Rebels is great. The period between episodes 3 and 4 is just a much more interesting time to set a series.

I've only played the first two-ish or so levels of Giana Sisters. That's usually what I do with all of my cheap flash sale purchases (so I don't feel like a total jackass when it goes on sale for cheaper later and I haven't even booted it up). Solid platformer. The Ikaruga/Outland world switching is a fun mechanic I wouldn't mind seeing used more. I probably won't boot it up again for awhile as I'm being pulled in other gaming directions (one S+ away from the AAC plat, stuck on a dragon boss in Salt and Sanctuary, Quantum Break next week).

stuck on a dragon boss in Salt and Sanctuary,
That one took me a few tries. Make sure to equip a lightning resistance ring if you've got one. Protection versus strike as well IIRC. You'll still get fried hard if you're in the way of his lightning breath attack but that's easy to dodge. Just up your resistances and dodge that one attack and it should be pretty easy.

So Visa Checkout is giving $10 off $50 at Walgreens.com. Got my hopes up. Denied.

Do a search for gift cards.

They have PSN $50 on page two. Also have XBox and GameStop cards as well.

CVS and Shoprite (NE grocery store chain) had $10 coupons if you spend $50 or more in GCs last week. I ended up with $50 in GameStop credit and $50 in Live. Shoprite was out of Live and I don't think they do PSN. Went to GameStop and bought $50 Amazon GCs.

Tempted to grab $50 more in credit at Walgreens.

Have to love technology sometimes. My boss was on vacation last week and just came over to my office to give me crap about not doing something she had requested via email. I politely explained that I hadn't seen any such email from her and when she doubted that I of course have all my emails saved and pulled up anything she's sent me this year, and what do you know! No sign of that email. 10 minutes later she comes back and says "yeah that was my fault I didn't send any email at all".

fuck work.

Only an absolute idiot would think that meme is pronounced may may.

fucking dumbass millennials.
Eh. It's common enough that most people should have heard it pronounced correctly at this point but if you've never heard it and you're just going by sounding out the letters I can see somebody getting that wrong. Too many damn words in the English language don't sound to match their spelling at all; based on the pronunciation it should really be spelled meam to match the sounds of team, beam, etc.. That it's spelled differently implies the pronunciation should be different even though it's not.

I have said me-me a few times to fuck with the wife, though. Random mispronunciations piss her off.

People made a video for Therm to show why all the conflict & anger in Civil War so he'll stop staying it comes out of nowhere just for the movie.
