PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

yeah, i always make sure i get money back so my taxes are done before Feb usually.
Yeah, setting yourself up for a refund definitely encourages you to get your taxes done in a timely manner.

The 15th is always tax day. If your an adult you should get shit done before the very last day anyway. You only had 4 months to figure it out. #nosympathy

EDIT Come on Chewy. So this 18th thing is just for special cases and isnt being broadcast as some official thing. Tax Day is still the 15th in the feds eyes. That all any sane person should be paying attention too.
Emancipation day is a holiday celebrated in DC and it falls on the weekday closest to it, which is tax day Friday which pushes the due date of taxes to Monday (since the IRS is observing it), except in a few states where they have a holiday on Monday which pushes the due date to Tuesday.

My dad would get people asking about his 70s Charger even though it was a rust bucket (rear quarters mostly). Not a ton of people but did get offers for a long while. I can't recall who he sold it to when he finally bought a new car though. It was having some mechanical issue (not the block) but lots of things were always going bad. Got tired of spending half his weekend fixing it.
My dad was going to be a mechanic before he ended up losing his hearing. Messing around with cars is his number one hobby.

Pacers clinched the 7th seed so at least they avoid the Cavs in the first round. Jazz are probably out, dropping their previous game at home to the Mavs was a killer.

But not really since the only people who would care about the final day are those that have to pay. And they have to pay by the 15th. So no one should think of anything else as the due date. Get shit done.

I actually still haven't done my taxes yet this year.

I would've done them already, but I can't seem to remember the name of the form I'm supposed to file.  I assume no one in here knows either.

Got my trade in confirmation for $25.80 on Far Cry Primal, just came in an email today and now I can view it on my trade in list. Pretty cool. Game itself should also be arriving today.
Got the same thing. Really nice that I have until June for it, plenty of time to get the plat. Still probably gonna finish it faster though and see if BB will give me more for it.

Well this is bizarre.  My wife who is on her way to visit a friend just called me and said she had good news and bad news.  I am thinking something happened with the car but was wondering how that could be good news at all.

Turns out it is something with the car.  The brand new one.  Thing is, she is driving mine.  Apparently Honda "has been trying to contact us for while" according to them.  I am not sure how hard it is to contact us when you have both our cell phones and our home phone and even if you didn't my last name is kind of unusual, so...

Anyway, somehow they decided after the fact we qualified for .9% instead of 1.9% (which we were pretty pissed at the time that they told us the .9% thing ended right before we got the car).  Now I have to apparently go TODAY to sign the paperwork to get the new rate.  I love getting the lower rate, but having to drop everything to go over there for this does kind of suck.

My procrastination apparently breaks down around the same time in March as when I sat down to do my taxes this year I discovered I was within a day or two of the anniversary I did my taxes last year.

On my way in to work this morning, I was nearly T-Boned. I stopped at a 4 way stop, and then another car stopped. My turn right? I entered the intersection to make a left turn. Out of nowhere, a 3rd vehicle comes into the intersection at 35 miles per hour and slams on her brakes. Everyone ok.

After looking at the driver of the minivan, I couldn't help but notice the company name on the side of the vehicle. "Safe Transportation".

Sometimes you just can’t make this stuff up.

Clearly they didnt see the stop sign?

Anyway, I was at a four way stop the other day and I was the second person to stop. But the first person that stopped didnt fuck ing move so I went ahead of them. They looked surprised. But not sure why they thought I needed to wait all day for them to fuck ing move!

Unless you are lazy AND hate doing your taxes. I knew we would get back the most we ever did. Still drug our feet. Got the Federal back already but NY state is needed to look ours over more. Finally decided they legitimately owe us almost $1000. Might see that early May maybe.

I've rolled through a stop sign twice. Scared the shit out of me when I realized it, too. Nothing like mid-intersection heart attacks. Those were just from not paying enough attention or being lost and looking around or whatever.

There's a couple points around Nashville that cause problems. We've got a few really weird light setups including one just a couple of minutes from my house;

There's a light at each intersection of Gallatin with Cahal, but there's only a 2-car distance between the two intersections. When driving down Gallatin it feels like a single intersection rather than two separate ones. Because of the way the lights hang it can be easy to see the one that's a bit further away and feel like that's where the intersection is at. I've had to slam on the brakes a few times when catching myself about to roll through the closer one.

I'd think it was just me but I've seen my wife and others do the same thing around these points.

I can be pretty lazy but to not do your taxes when they owe you a good amount is strange to me. Although living in Florida my entire life I forget that most people have to do a state tax return in addition to federal. Glad I dont need to deal with that. I was talking to someone from NY that said he has three to do? One for state, one federal and one county or something?

If you work or live in Yonkers or NYC those cities have their own taxes too.

I am sure I didn't miss the .25% interest on 3K for a month or two. Already spent the Federal on tires and brakes on my car and some other stuff.

Next year should be a bit simpler maybe get it done sooner. Also a bit less back.

yeah he is in either of those. he said city taxes.

It isnt about the interest. Its about sticking it to the man! lol

When they were relocating a 4 lane street that serves as a major artery to move east and west, a lot of that traffic got diverted down a 2 lane lane road because its the only other street within 7 blocks that connects to the road that serves as North-South artery. The 2 lane road is near my home so i use it all the time. To deal with the increase in traffic because assholes kept trying to turn left on it and would cause a traffic back-up, they put in four stop signs where there had previously been only 2 for the roads which are perpendicular to it. Once the road was finished being rebuilt they decided to leave the four-way stop in place. I was always scared I was going to run it since I was accustomed to it not being there and I finally did it over the weekend, thankfully there was no one coming from the side streets.

I've been putting off doing my taxes this year. Usually I get them done in late feb/early March. I've been putting them off this year due to the high levels of family dischord going on, as well as they've been extra difficult due to the "nanny tax" we've been paying.

(We pay the nanny but then figuring out how to report the income we've paid her)

Finally got them done last night. Only getting a small amount back, which looks like it might be canceled out by the state amount I owe.

Till we bought the house we got back around $500 Federal and owed a few hundred State. Last year we owed 1500 combined IRC. First year we got back anything substantial. I hate paperwork. Just turned in my self evaluation yesterday for my yearly review which was due a month ago. Too many interruptions here work (damn CAG) to do it here. Spent a couple hours on Sunday doing it. Cutting into my gaming time.

It takes them months and I get it retro actively. Not like anything I put on there is going to net me a better raise anyway.

Yeah I had one of these for my Creative Zen Nomad mp3 player. Adapter worked like shit but I loved that mp3 player. Looking back it was a piece of crap but damn did I used to use it all the time.
I had one for my original Sony Discman (they thing weighed like two pounds)

Just for you bums, just a RSD first release so not limited to just RSD.
What they mean is this is the first time you can buy this tape again since 1991. I sold my cassette copy for $400 a few years ago. They are making 3500 tapes with 420 on green cassettes. The 12" vinyl is the VERY first time it's been released so they are doing 8000 and 420 on green vinyl.

My friend did the layout for this RSD release. I'm going to RSD just to get the tape and vinyl. Plus my store signed a contract for RSD that they won't price gouge, hold stock to sell on the Internet, etc.

Dark Souls 3 had a much more manageable opening than the first two. I made it through the tutorial area/boss and leveled up like 6 points without dying yet. Maybe that will make it more appealing to some of you (I'm sure I'll get to a stupid hard part next time I boot it up). Much better than Dark Souls 2 when I was dying constantly in the opening hours (though I was playing the Xbone version and fighting that 60 FPS weapon degradation bug).

My first car was a 1965 bug I bought from the original owner. My brother at the time had a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440 in orange and black. Damn that car hauled ass and you'd be stuck to your seat.

I was talking to my brother last week and he told me in July he's going to order his Dodge Challenger Hellcat which is over 700 HP. This is going to be a gift to himself for paying off his house by age 40.

Based on this it looks like a pretty standard LEGO game list, other than the requirement to do all the duels (which could repetitive / time consuming) and a few no damage dueling related trophies.

Yeah I read the trophy guide but unfortunately those roadmaps don't have a fun meter to go along with their time estimate. I'd love to see that. "The plat takes about 20 hours but it's such a pain in the ass you'll quit early."

Several stores in the Netherlands have been asked about the PS Vita, as a response to the low amount of units available lately. They all responded that the PS Vita isn't in stock and won't be in stock anytime soon. Bol.com, one of the biggest online retailers in the Netherlands, is currently the only store with stock left (a whole whopping two units) stated that the PS Vita is end-of-life.

When Tweakers asked Sony Benelux about this they responded with an evasive answer and they've "nothing to say" about the PS Vita.

Huh. Anybody know anything about the Netherlands? I was under the impression that Vita is doing quite well in EU. :whistle2:k

Glad Jkam got his 50 Vitas.  They are about to become collectors items!  He can sell them all for $5!

I watched my kid playing it, and it still looked like a royally frustrating pain in the ass where he was in it.

You know what I miss? Rotary phones. Just something so classic and right about taking 45 seconds to dial a number. I also miss milk men. Going to the store and picking out my own milk is just so impersonal.
