PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Learned that the location I'm going to play league at for the summer is getting a Ghostbusters LE. Sweet! Probably not arriving until mid-season, though. Not sure if they are actually shipping yet or not?

Ive probably said this before but the only real concert I have ever been to was Metallica in 97 at the Ice Palace and it was fuck ing fantastic.  Lars and all.

One time I went to see They Might Be Giants at the Electric Factory in Philly.  For some reason they double booked the place with Afroman AND had him go first.  This might have been around when TMBG started also making kid's songs because the crowd was full of really young people and their parents.  The look of horror on so many faces when Afroman busted out a song that very graphically described eating a girl out among other things was priceless.

Bands/groups/musicians that I have seen that I am glad I did because 1 or all members of the group are now dead:

Wu Tang Clan with ODB
Elliott Smith before he killed himself
Beastie Boys before MCA died
I saw the Beastie Boys with about 1500-2000 people it was awesome especially since I got free tix from KROQ. I was also glad to see Pantera before Dime Bag died, show was amazing. A highlight was seeing Lou Reed playing with the Gorillaz before he passed. Also seeing the original SLAYER many times was epic. I've been to lots shows so I'm sure their are lots more.

The Cunning Stunts tour? That was my first Metallica show too. I think we discussed this before too. That was a great show.

I don't think I've seen any bands where members of the band died since I saw them. I wish Cliff was with Metallica, but that's different. Also saw Page & Plant together, obviously after Bonham died. I almost went to see Scott Weiland right before he died.

Back when they were great. I saw them a few years later On the And Justice for All tour 5 times. Used to be a HUGE fan.

After the Black Album I checked out.

I only got to see Pantera at OzzFest. So they didn't play a long set. Wish I had gotten to see them headline.

Saw Slayer headline and then again at OzzFest.

Also wish I had seen the Beastie Boys.

I guess? I never knew the name of the tour, but they did do stunts! Did they have the helicopter come down from the roof and some dude was on fire and fell out of it? And they have walls of flame come out of the floor around Lars?

No helicopter, but one of the dudes running the spotlights above the stage tried to climb down in a panic cause of explosions and got caught in the rope and dangled there thrashing frantically. Then some dude ran out from under the stage on fire and weird explosions were happening all over and we didn't know what the fuck was going on.

Then they lowered four little light bulbs to one side of the stage with small little amps and played a few Garage Days songs.

yeah the dude that fell out of the helicopter was dangling by the rope ladder out of the helicopter. pretty cool stuff

When I saw Pantera this was the lineup. Incubus (Fungus Amungus years and Brandon still had his dreads) then Pantera played and Original Black Sabbath headlined. Well worth the $50 ticket price.

Some post-game spotlight shit coming to Rocket League next month.  Hope there is a category for "most near misses that surely would have been a goal if the car was one millesecond faster or slower."

That'd been awesome too see them back then. I didn't get a chance to until the morning view tour.
Zimm, we're you still in WI when you saw Metallica. I think I saw them around that time. Maybe 98? At the Bradley center.

Having not really played any video games for the better part of a year and a half, I have a pretty large backlog and games that I missed. Finished the plat on Ratchet and Clank last night and just started episode 2 of tales from the borderlands. Aside from UC4 and Doom, what other games do you guys think I missed that are worth playing?

Spelunky!

I couldn't think of a ton initially, but I've seen a decent number of bands who had members die down the line (some I forgot until you guys mentioned them):

Scott Weiland (in STP)

Ronnie James Dio (saw him solo and with Heaven and Hell a lot.. I ended up going to the last concert he ever played before dying)

Run DMC (not sure who it was that died.. saw them open for Aerosmith Edit: wait a minute, Kid Rock was there, too. Does his midget that died count?)

Slayer

Drowning Pool

Static X

I feel like I'm missing some others.. I've seen a lot of classic rock bands in my time so this list will surely get longer soon. Saw The Rolling Stones in the late 90s.. can't believe none of them are dead yet.

Yup that show I described was at the Bradley Center on Valentines day in 1997. I remember the exact date because I broke up with my girlfriend to go to the show because she wanted to celebrate our 4-month anniversary that fell on the 14th. But I wanted to see Metallica for the first time. Metallica won. #NoRagrets

I've seen them two other times in Milwaukee, once more at the Bradley Center circa 99-00 (I think Sevendust & Kid Rock opened) and once at the Marcus Amphitheater on the Summerfest grounds circa 98-99 (Days of the New & Jerry Cantrelle opened).

I think I was went to that tour. I don't think I saw Incubus though. I went 3 or 4 years but remember of the shirts I got had their name on it.

Run DMC are both living, it was their DJ Jam Master J that died.

I see you didn't do much in Shadow of Mordor, so get on that ASAP.

I know System of a Down played some shows on that tour. For LA is was Pantera for night 1 and Sytem for night 2. So glad I picked night 1. Hearing WALK live was incredible in the LA Forum.

I got to see Dio I think about a year or two before he died was never a huge fan. I liked Ozzy Black Sabbath better. A friend of mine had tickets. His ex and her GF were going too and it was at Jones Beach. I ended up crushing headache. The first 1/2 of his set was really good. I ended up hanging out by the concessions at a picnic table till the show was over. I was impressed with the hour so I saw though. Ran into a bunch of people I knew down there and some girl I was trying to hook up with (never happened). They all went out afterwards I went home.

Another guy I saw (same 3 friends as above) who I never really cared for was Don Dokken. He was decent but nothing to write home about.

fucking weird but that girl I was trying to hook up with called me (or maybe I called her) on the way to the show. We hung out a bit but I couldn't close the deal. She got invited to some after party (some roadie probably cock blocking me). I think she invited me to go with but figured it was just her being nice and she was going to hook up with whoever got her into the after party. Probably should have went though. Those things are usually insane.

Oh well that was the closing days of my single life anyway.

They started to play Cemetery Gates and Phil was like nah I am not playing that pussy shit and they went into something else.

I wanted to hear Cemetery Gates. But everything they played was great.

Fortunately I saw Cro had been playing WWE 2K15 and boosting the trophies for online and that made me wonder why since he always claims to hate trophy boosting. Turns out the servers are closing down at the end of the month. So if anyone has that game and wants the online trophies, you got like two weeks left.

See what happens when you don't interfere chewy?  The Brewers beat the Cubs going away.  If it wasn't for you they'd also have a no hitter and a sweep!  Against the Cubs!

#fuckthecubs
