PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

From the blog post: "We have a select number of seats reserved for waitlist attendees, who will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis."  So it's not surprising that the tickets go so damn fast when they're only giving out some percentage of the seats for a single screen at places.  It also means that if you got waitlisted there are at least some seats, plus no shows.

I don't know how much it's going to grow, but at Rockville last year I was running late and I think I got there after they let the waitlisted people in (there was no line).  I was afraid they might have given my seat away, but there was no problem.  The place wasn't completely full even by the time it started.

No ticket, because according to the email I got you just have to show up and 15 minutes before the show if there's any open seats they'll let waitlisted people in on a first come first serve basis. Maybe I'll try it.
Nobody got time for that.

PS: Killing Floor 1 was great. Need to try the sequel.

That Primal game (PS2 > PS4) has a 25% launch discount. I bought it real cheap late in the PS2 life-cycle. Played a few hours, enjoyed it fine, but never did beat it. I bought it on PS3 with intentions of playing through and don't think I even booted it up. Maybe if I buy it this third time...

My theater last year wasn't full, but it had a very good sized crowd.  More than I expected.  Not sure what the general PS vibe is up round these parts, so it probably has no bearing on y'alls places.  Some people might just go for the free swag to sell on eBay.

Streaming some more Dark Souls 2 before bed.

Eventually you can infinitely purchase shards, large shards, and chunks after beating certain bosses. Shards when you are about 1/3rd of the way through the game, large shards about 55% through the game, and chunks after beating the last boss.

Attunement adds more spell (magic, miracle, pyromancy, or hex) slots and slightly increases agility every few points. Adaptability greatly increases agility. Agility adds more invincibility frames to your rolls and backsteps and increases estus drinking speed.

pharros contraptions are giant square stones that look like skulls. Activating it with a lockstone (that is consumed) usually sets off a trap or opens a hidden pathway/secret cubbyhole with treasure.

Soul vessel lets you respec stat points at one of the firekeepers in the shack. So don't stress too much about making bad level up choices as you change it later.

Have to finish talking to the hag in the tower for her to move, and once she does she sells infinite life gems.

Firebomb (or stand in front of it and wait for the bomber to chuck one at you) the wall with the barrels near the turtle knight to open shortcut to cardinal tower bonfire.

There is an NPC that eventually you can sell stuff to, a guy who loves deals.

That's promising. I got waitlisted, but wasn't sure if it was worth the drive to Rockvile to take the chance of not getting in.

<more great Dark Souls 2 tips>
I'll add two more:

1. In terms of Agility, try to aim for a value between 95 and 100 to maximize the invincibility frames. After that, you don't need to worry about the Adaptability stat.

2. Always, always, always talk to new NPCs over and over again until they start repeating themselves; usually they'll give you something and/or move to Majula.

Thank you for your registration!
Bring this confirmation email with a valid form of ID, as this is your ticket to the show. Tickets are non-transferrable.
Please Note: Your seat(s) are guaranteed until 15 minutes prior to Show Start. At that time, all guests including wait list guests will be seated based on priority in the line.
Took the wife to the first one buy the FPS stuff makes her nauseous, it was way too loud, and the stream broke up a number of times into loud screeching noises. No way the wife will go again but I'm sure I can find somebody interested.

Somebody on Reddit is reporting that MGS Portable Ops and Portable Ops+ are both downloadable directly to Vita now. No idea if that's true or not, but it might interest somebody.

Bowen Kerins, one of the top pinball players in the world, and all around super-nice guy (if a dirty stinkin' Red Sox fan), has been producing awesome tutorial videos over at papa.org (http://papa.org/learning-center/videos/?target=tutorials) and was doing it for free, but now the job he had that took him to pittsburgh is over and producing more of them will require travel expenses, etc, so he's started a patreon to fund new tutorials. You can give as little as $1 a month.

If you're a pinball fan this is worth supporting.

Shit I wish I knew about these when pinball league started. I'm gonna have to watch all those now and maybe throw some moneys his way.

I've just about beat Dark Souls 2 (I'm at the second to last boss, I think.. I'll get back to it some day) and I don't know what the fuck any of you guys are talking about. Tyler, just kill bad guys, level up with souls, repeat. Also level up weapons/armor with rocks you find. The end.

Isn't portable OP+ multiplayer focused?

There is a download button in the store for regular portable ops (which i own) in the vita store, but when you click it it says "cannot download using this system."

Also can't download it via the purchase history list.

I didn't realize basically all the PS2 to PS4 classics are half off. Maybe I should buy the Dark Cloud games.

I'm glad I went there if only to see that slidecage's spacebar still doesn't work.

These are the times you must ask yourself why am I doing this to myself? Primal lol.

Metallica offering up a limited edition Metallica pinball t-shirt for Met Club members this week only. I'd grab it in a heartbeat if it wasn't 30 friggin dollars. But limited edition and shit I guess.
Metallica is still around? Who knew?

I need to get back to that game after Uncharted, but with my summer gaming pace it could take months. Is there a new trophy list with the new update? Or hopefully a double/triple exp weekend or something.

Did someone report your avatar or something, or is this the Phantom velo that spoils games to you via pms.

#5 team in the world too! wow! It would be interesting to see the US womens team play the boys. I wonder if they would stop demanding equal pay if they lost too.

EDIT: Guy at work claims his brother was on a club team of 17 year olds when they beat Mia Hamm and the US women 4-0. Apparently this type of thing "happens all the time in soccer."

SO5 is looking pretty damn nice. Textures and characters look quite nice and detailed, the AI roles are cool, and the combat looks like a lot of fun.
