They sure are. There are a lot of different things you can do with a PSP, noob.

gah damnit... nice price.. tax hikes it up to 143.47 ..... still not a bad price.

can't say that I don't want one... but ..... ugh.
D A M N tempting. I don't know why I want one of these so stinking bad.
I highly reccomend one. If you're into homebrew and other stuff, you can do wonders with it (but I won't get any deeper than that)

PSP is def worth the purchase... it seems endless what you can do with it! I am currently playing all the classic PSX games like Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 9! Its like 4 systems in one (PSP, PSX, NES, SNES, etc)!

Wow that's a great price. Is the 2000 series able to run CFW? I would like to upgrade my original PSP, although honestly I almost never play it. Still, it would be nice to have the slimmer model.

pretty nice deal. I dont own a PSP and honestly don't know a whole lot about them, but I have read that a lot of people like the 2000 better than the 3000 because of the color contrast... are there any other major differences other than the 3000 having a mic?

My PSP os 2000 series and I run CFW. I have the Silver one that was included in the "Dexter/Family Guy" bundle. Currently running 5.00 m33-4

Yeah, like watch porn on the bus.

i got my psp from dell using a similar deal several months ago. unfortunately, it came with the unmoddable motherboard (i spent many moons tryin to figure out why pandora battery wouldnt work)

Okay, so what's the consensus....2000 or 3000, which is better and why?

For some reason, I just feel like I have to have the newest model. But, I keep hearing that a lot of people feel the 2000 is superior.

Apparently the complaints are that the screen on the 3000 "displays significant signs of interlacing, such as noticeable scan lines and ghosting."
This according to the IGN review: http://gear.ign.com/articles/923/923225p1.html

I have no first-hand experience so I'd be interested in hearing from CAGs who do.

so...wait for PSP 4000?

So give us the verdict, which one is better?
You can find the PSP 3000 for $131 at Circuitcity.
they've got 30% off now on consoles?

I've had both and I kept my 2000...I didn't find the 3000 all that "brighter" than 2000. If you are new to the system, you aren't giving much if you pick the 2000 and you can get it a good bit cheaper than the 3000 (although the 3000 IS a bundle with a game and a movie and a PSN download and memory stick, but you can get better value buying them separately/not buying them at all)

The coupon works on all consoles/games.
You should probably update the title.

I just tried a PS3 160gig, PS3 80, 360 arcade, and two different games.
If you have multiple items in your cart it'll only give the discount to the most expensive item in your basket.

i ordered my psp from dell a few months ago using a similar deal, but unfortunately, i received the version with the non-moddable motherboard. for those interested in only homebrew, id recommend not getting it from dell. if you wanted to use it legitimately tho, its a nice price for a new system, i use mine mainly for watching movies. i just wish sony would release some better ps1 titles on PSN, maybe theyd realize ppl would not jump to homebrew if sony would actually just advance their product a little...

^huh? As far as I know, everything from the PSP 1000 to the PSP 3000 has been hacked.

Are you interested in physically modding the motherboard or just homebrew? If it's just homebrew Dark Alex and friends have worked some serious magic.

It's been awhile since I've checked, but last I looked it depended on what Firmware you had on it. If it's coming out with the newest, you're pretty much sol unless you want to purchase a pandora battery. But then again, that was some time ago.

the ghosting isnt too terrible, it is a lot less distracting than the 3000's interlacing problems. i prefer the 2000 over the other 2 models and i have all 3. aside from the screen & mic, there are no other discernible differences between the 2 latter models.

There is no ghosting on my 2000 model, my 1000 model on the other hand has a bad ghosting problem.

For the price difference though, go with the 2000....you won't regret it.

"Problems" with ghosting and interlacing are very, very dependent on each person's own tolerances; the whole interlacing fiasco with the PSP-3000s was overblown, IMO, and most people I know who picked up a 3000 said it's not nearly as bad as it looks in still pictures zoomed in to 400 percent.

Correct you are. I wouldn't trade my 3000 for a 2000. The screen is well-needed improvement.
