*exactly* my first thoughts...it's a shame to see lumines rank so closely above darkstalkers, it's quite superior (imo), but I suppose being able to multiplayer more often helps with a portable fighter. Untold Legends isn't even on there? or do I not know my japanese release titles? (it's SOE, I can't imagine a NA release only).

Those numbers seem odd, I know for a fact that Wipeout, which was one of the more popular titles at the Japanese launch, sold a lot more copies than that.

SoE is american based. Maybe they haven't finished translation.

It's all here at

http://the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm

and the-magicbox.com is a reliable source. I'm thinking wipeout and electro plankton may of just been released in Japan since it is as of April 11.

Japan's favorite game of 2004 was Dragon Warror 8?

I'm so surprised!

Basacially, as good as both these systems are, the final vote in Japan will come down to "Which system will receive a new Dragon Warrior", since they've loved that game for almost 15 years now.

Weird to see Ridge Racer as number 5, though.
