CAGiversary!
This is my first time posting so go easy on me ;-). I could not find this posted somewhere else on CAG, I was just at Target in Chandler, AZ and found the PSP Go for $209.99.
Probably should put YMMV in title. This is a stupid question but was it black or white?
Why does it matter? Not gonna want it if it's black, huh?

I wouldn't buy it if it were black. I like the white one a lot more.

You racist! :whistle2:#

(just kidding)

I wouldn't even look at one for more than a second unless until it hit $100 and the damn thing was about to go straight to salvage.

Biggest drawback to the Go is that because it's all digital, it eliminates second hand sales for your purchases and Sony controls the price point on all downloads. That, and it costs a bunch more than the 3000.

The size of the PSP Go is the most attractive thing about it. I'm on the road quite a bit and have been thinking of getting one... it'd fit perfectly in my shirt pocket.

But... the price just kills it for me. Even at $200, I still think it's overpriced by $60-70.

I got my Go when it launched. I love it. I play it more than any of my systems right now. It's the smallest of portables on the market today and because of that I really do stick it in my pocket and play everywhere and have all my games on me at all times. It reminds me of steam and a lot of people like steam. I understand this is Cheap Ass Gamer and everyone wants their UMD games for $7.99 on clearance, but I can never fully understand why people crap on the Go constantly without taking a good look at it.

It does have it's short comings but I don't think it deserves all the hate. If you hate the Go, make sure were didn't buy an iPod touch for more than this; because if you did, take a step back for a moment, that's all I ask.

If you can afford it, this is a good deal.

Thanks for the info OP.

I have to wonder when we'll get official price cuts from Sony on this. First comes the $229.99 drop at Fry's now this. If they can get this thing to at least match the price of the DSi XL them maybe I'll look at it a bit more.

Game selection is a huge issue with the Go. It'll never have the same catalog as the regular PSPs. Even some new third party games won't be available on the Go like the new Kingdom Hearts game.

I wanted a Go...then you look at Sales like Dissidia for 19.99 at GS and Amazon and then look at the download only version for 40. Then you look at no CFW for the Go, and my PSP-1000 doesn't look as bad as it did :p

You're absolutely right. Not having the content on the store is inexcusable. I've been content with the content I have so I suppose that's why it hasn't been a rub for me yet. I've heard of the rumor of a relaunch (http://www.slashgear.com/psp-go-relaunch-rumor-surfaces-0372657/) reported by several blogs. If there is one, they could stand to wrestle the 3rd parties and get their content up there. From what I understand, the process isn't as trivial as ripping the disc and putting it up (Contracts, payouts, legal issues, licensing). Either way, Sony needs to do it.

As for the pricing I have mixed feelings. On one hand, even at MSRP, I buy titles that I feel I am getting value from, but on the other, the physical media encourages competition. I thought Amazon.com would bring some competitions with the game codes but no luck so far. Pricing is a complicated issue for Sony and how they're handling it right now doesn't result in a win for customers which means they can't win.

These two arguments against the go are valid and I think something Sony needs to address.

Sony only needs to do two things to get me to buy this thing. Find a way to allow us to get our UMDs on the system, and cut the price to 150. Yeah i know, they're two HUGE things, but i would be ALL OVER THIS if they did. Handhelds should only be priced at around 150.

Wishes like those normally come from a Clippers fan. ;)

Honestly, I prefer the original launch PSP phat. The others are small for my hands and less comfortable. I traded my PSP phat with a friend for his 3000 for a week a while back, he let me because I just wanted to see how I liked that model when I was considering trading in, and the phat was just more comfortable for me. The go....ehhhh. No umd = glorious fail.
