PSP memory card - advice & price

sumsumma

CAGiversary!
i just ordered a PSP and am contemplating my memory options

what size card should i get, and what can i expect to pay for the memory cards.

i am not really sure what i plan to do with the PSP, but i imagine i would want to save game and play music with it.

Also can the PSP play Divix files?

Thanks
how much stuff can i fit on the 4GB?

songs, movies, games, etc?
Depends on the size of the files. You can fit up to 3.80 GB after the card is formatted. I was able to fit quite a few MP3's, a couple episodes of Cowboy Bebop, and some games i ripped.

game save: takes up so little space that 32mb is more than enough
music: depends on the kb of the mp3. you can also convert the files to ATRAC to take up even less space.
movie: again it is going to depend on the quality.

Personally, i prefer Sandisk over anything else, even Sony. The read and write speeds are great and the product is quality. Not to mention either a 3 or 5 year warranty.

Sandisk are the best in my opinion. If Syngamer's card is real, I'd take him up on his offer. The read and write speeds on the Sonys have always been inferior in all my tests, when compared to Sandisk.

It's real, bought it directly from Amazon.
So the Lexar card from Frys is no good, or what?

How about any good deals on Sandisk cards?
It's alright for $26 plus shipping...but i would go with SanDisk if i had the choice.

The PSP can playback DivX and XviD AVI files if you use a homebrew program such as PSPlayer. Not everything seems to work on it and it has syncing issues so I'm sticking to mp4 for the time being. I'm sure it'll probably be implemented in a future firmware update.

I was wondering about this too.
Thanks!
I think 1 GB would be good for me since I wouldn't be adding much music (few albums) and wouldn't be using it for movies.

i have a 4 gig and i have about 8 movies on it and theres still like 150Mb of space so depending on how many things you plan on putting on it a 4gig is pretty good

Currently Playing
:ps2: GH1 and 2
:psp: NBA live 06, GOW, GTAVC
:ds: Nintendogs, Mario cart
:wii:Bully, Super Mario Galaxy, SSBB
:ps3: Rockband, GH3, Warhawk

My 4GB SanDisk is still up for grabs. It's a couple months old and still under warranty for a few years. PM me if interested because i have no use for it now that i have an 8 GB.
