[quote name='Astinus Majere']Dell has a 512 for only $57.74 with free shipping:

It's backordered, unfortunately :(. Ships in '3 weeks' is not a good sign for the Dell site that usually cancels orders like that. Their regular price of 76$ isn't all that bad, either. I used that Best Buy coupon w/ a couple of things and managed ~63$ shipped for free. It's on backorder, too, but at least it's in stock in many of the stores (I'm just not driving 30 miles and wasting gas for it). Until the 1 GB's come down, I'll see what 512 can do. I'm hoping at least a full-length movie at some good quality. Does anyone know if the 368x208 resolution via PSP9 works? I know the full resolution doesn't work and 320x240 had to be used, but I was curious if that lesser resolution (in 16:9 format) would work or not.

Yeah, Dell has become a bottom feeder... I was a happy customer for years and then last fall the 'Dell Empire' went to hell... orders not shipping, in stock orders not shipping, crappy computer support...

Somebody on this mesage board said they had 2 movies and some room left on a 512 meg card...

that was me.. yeah , i was able to get shark tales, napoleon dynamite and still have like 40 mb left.. i just wish it was a TRUE 512 or 1gb when thats what they sell them as, where the hell does the rest of it go?

also, you cant step the resolution up unless you get a 1g, then you can only fit 1 movie on. i am very happy with the quality of 200mb movies though.

Wow, Circuit City wanted like $84 for a 512 MB.

Question: Does Sony's rule of only using Sony products carry over to the PSP? Do we have to worry about using unlicensed products on the PSP?

What program did you use to do that with? What settings should I use to get a few movies on a 512 meg card?

Amazon has 256M sandisk cards for $38.95 and 512M for $62.99.
If your not in a big hurry BUY.COM has the 1G sandisk cards for $122.98 but they are on back order.

Just a "Best Buy" sucks bump... they are still backordered there and took my coupon away making it 76$ instead. I canned the order b/c of that (and they also took it away from my other items I already paid for, so I'm in a bit of a heated battle with them at the moment). I guess I'm a glutton for punishment by still using the store - but I do manage some good deals from time to time. I just got burned this time, although I'm not done with them taking 44$ away from me without my real consent.

I hope everyone who's ordered the 1 GB & 512 KB units from Dell get them very soon. It seems they're going to come through on that!

You're in Southern California and so is Fry's Electronics. By no small coincidence Fry's has a very good price on several sizes of MS Duo Pros this week.

usually memory cards have a real memory of a few mb less than they are advertised as... I know when i buy mem cards for my nokia and install em it says like 125 instead of 128 for a 128 mb card.

This is usually because the retailers measure mb in kilobytes rounded to like the nearest thousand, while most electronic devices measure a mb as somethin like 1.2 kilobytes. therefore your mem stick duos mite have a little less capacity in your PSP than they were advertised as.

yeah, just my 2 cents
