UMDs could have been a great platform if they were used for more than the PSP. I swear, if they released standalone portable UMD players and marketed them towards kids, the UMD may have been a nifty medium.
I was hoping that the PS3 would have had a UMD drive in it. It would have been awesome to play movies and games on a TV if you didn't want to use your PSP.

Me nine. Shipping is $20 for 11 items. Seriously, $10 for a flat rate Priority Box (medium) would do just fine, throw in another $2 for handling, I'd do it. But the price is raised to $4 a game, might as well hit the $5 UMDs at Lamestop.

Shipping to Canada is only $6 more!

Just added more Die Hard, Terminator, Robocop, Ali G, Entourage, and others to the store. We should have everything back in stock other than Star Trek and the Doctor Who sets.

I might bite on Oldboy and Entourage...you know dude, your site may pull some weirdass deals but much appreciated for posting this stuff.

appreciate the deals...but one of many that just can't get past the shipping....
Fix that, and I wonder how many fence sitters would order on more of the deals...

I second that.

If I lower prices any more, we don't make any money. It just wouldn't work. Somebody pointed out an ebay seller with some of the same movies (only about a quarter of our selection). Their prices are WAY higher than ours. This is the cheapest we can go.

A few hundred of these have sold over the weekend. We'll get out as many as we can tomorrow, and the rest will ship on Tuesday. Thanks for the orders!

Respectfully, that EBay seller with all the Ebay fees and potential non payers (with no negative feedback exposure) is a bit apples and oranges (payment fees are a wash)...
I will mention the GS sales on many of these titles for $3.99 (no tax if paid with credit) and their brick and mortar overhead/staffing has to be at least 35%...

happy for your orders, but if shipping were more reasonable/capped... many more orders ....

He has a small business. Does anyone not realize that? Actually, I shouldn't say that. Plenty of people have said it in his threads. Still, it's annoying to see people complain about this stuff. It's like $5 a movie or something in most cases. Either, you wanna pay that, or you don't.

He clearly said he can't go any lower, or else he wouldn't make a profit on them. So, if he lowered the shipping, he would obviously make up for it by raising the price of the movies. Either way, you'd be paying the same.

I vote that everybody who was unhappy with the shipping prices in this thread should be banned.

Especially Dawg26. fuck that guy. And give me all his games too.

...

But in all seriousness, shipping obviously can't go any lower, guys.

Also, the GS sales are to clear out stock, not to make money. Comparing them is unreasonable.

And now I'm going to eat a donut because of donut. And stop using ellipses dammit :p

Then do not have a Second front page (free!) thread and title the thread $1.95 umds if they are $5, we're not idiots.
and shipping not only can be less but is much less.

and hey, it's a public forum, and it's just my opinion that drgood would sell more if shipping were more in line with true costs.

Funny things is, you keep bumping it right to the top every time you post.

and title the thread $1.95 umds if they are $5, we're not idiots.
They are $2. And you pay shipping. It says that in the title.

and shipping not only can be less but is much less.

And like he said, he would just raise the price of the movies.

The shipping turns out to be around 2.50 per movie. That's actually quite solid. If he shipped it Media Mail, people would bitch about it taking too long. And the pricing wouldn't actually dip much lower.

IT'SACONUNDRUM :whee:

He'd need an agreement with the USPS or a third-party shipping service for shipping to go lower, which costs money as he'd have to promise a certain amount of packages per time period.

If you guys want shipping to be lower, offer a viable solution.

Man 8 at like 3.60 each is a great deal. Quit whining about shipping and just figure the cost per movie and it is a great deal

On some of the medium-range orders, I think he could definitely stick a bunch of movies into a USPS flat-rate box. And what's that nowadays? Like $10? I know I put a lot of PS2 games in one once. Something like a dozen, and that was with some packing material. So, he could definitely go that route for some of the orders. Like I alluded to, haven't used those boxes in a long time, so I don't know exactly how much they are or how much you can jam in there, but I think it's a good option.

On the same hand, again, he's a small business. As he has mentioned in the past, he has a very simple shipping price algorithm set up based on weight (pounds). That's why when I ordered a few things from him one time, they were all very lite items, so the shipping was still $5 total. It's not like he's gonna sit there and add up the shipping cost for every, single order. He might be small, but he still isn't you or me selling a few things a week on eBay. And he certainly wants to make sure he doesn't take a hit on the shipping.

And honestly, let's face it, he's trying to drum up business. He says the movies are $2, and it draws interest. And hopefully, people aren't turned away by the added shipping costs. Apparently, they aren't, because he's had that site open for over a year. At the end of the night, as I and others have mentioned numerous times, look at the cost per item. Does it really matter if he offers it to you for $0.01 plus $4.99 shipping or $5 and free shipping? Does it really? Either, you want the item at $5, or you don't. And if you don't, move along. You don't need to bash the guy.
No but he'd probably bet better off just listing them @3.95 each with free shipping. That way there's no sticker shock when you see the total price in your cart has doubled due to shipping - especially considering that flat rate boxes from the USPS should pretty much cap the shipping costs at about $14.

I had $25 worth of stuff in my cart that was going to cost another $25 to ship. I said forget it and closed the window.
I agree, definitely easier to swallow at $3.95 each w/free shipping, even the cost is the same. Kinda weird. I call it the eBAY way of doing things. Win a whole bunch of $.01 auctions but pay $4 shipping on something that really only costs $2.50 max to ship. Once I figured out how much each UMD would be w/shipping, it was a no brainer. Just wish they were here already, considering it's seems it's been about a 5+ days since I ordered?

i got my stuff. Question these are my first UMD`s and I have opened my spawn one so far haven`t checked the rest but are all UMD`s inside the case being held on to by the same bracket that holds the chapter list?

Reason being is that I was surprised to find out that the plastic piece inside the case that holds the paper is also latching on to the UMD disc itself!
