PSPgo clearanced at 199.00 at Walmart- YMMV
I think Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep has the potential to sell a ton of systems by itself. It has been a huge success over in Japan and we should be getting an NA release date sometime soon.
this will be the main reason why I buy a PSP.

I really wanted one, but between the ludicrous price point and being forced to buy games at MSRP, I just can't do it. If I can find 1-2 friends to go in on it with me so we can just split the games, I'd reconsider.

Something about Disney being apart of it means that it won't be available for download. AKA you won't be seeing this on your Go.

Well that didn't take long. Still don't want one, not at any price. I believe I read in Playstation magazine that there may be a third-party attachable drive so you can play UMDs, but I think it's just a rumor/conceptual idea as of now.

But yes, I agree: too small for my hands, and I don't even play my current psp much.

I think the PSP Go is a really great size, but I do hate that Sony basically spit in the face of all of us that have invested a shit ton in UMDs. It is for that reason that I can't see myself buying one at anything more than $100.

about Birth by sleep, guys i heard it wasnt going to be released on the PSN store so PSP Go owners who wanted to download it are screwed if such happens

I'll buy it when it's 100. It'll be a good replacement for my zune 30. Playing the games would be a plus since I'm selective and won't buy every "good" game that's out.
Wow
what? if you are too poor to afford the pspgo then we really cant even talk about you being player enough to enjoy it
Couldn't you get the pspgo for around 165 with the bing 20%?
Yea, if it were $199 online.

I wish i could get it at 199, im fine with paying 199 since i don't own a PSP and since i got my taxes but no way am i paying 249.99

the only reason ill go with 199 is because of my tax return, if i cant find one within a week or 2 ill wait for a 149.99 price drop or on craigslist

I think most people can afford the PSP Go, but they choose not to waste their money on a crippled DRM handheld that does the same things all the old PSP models can do, with the only benefit being smaller (if you consider that a benefit) and the ability to pay full MSRP for games. Oh yes, we know you can game share with your friends, if you want all share the same account information. If you feel that is worth paying for this thing, than by all means, be my guest. But don't try and like the people on here that are knocking this thing are doing it to spite you. This thing is a bomb - it's been a total sales disaster. That's not CAGs fault.

no umds means no support once Sony restructures.
Maybe my PSP go will be like a Toyota Prius or Camry and need to be recalled because I cannot stop myself from throwing it against the wall

I bought a PSP Go when it launched and I love it....I'm not a huge portable gamer so my gaming on the GO tends to be with older titles that are cheaper and psone classics.....

As far as it being at Walmart, I have never seen a PSP Go at any walmart I've been to.

I have a feeling this was at my local walmart because there was no PSPGo systems at all. No boxes what so ever. Somebody near me has been buying all the good clearance stuff.

Yes, I doubt the PSPGo could move without it being on clearance.

I got a GO at launch and to be honest, it's the system I carry with me now. I love it. I think the games on PSN are a bit over priced but I really like playing games on it. I just cracked open the comic reader and I don't know how I feel about paying for digital comics but the couple free ones I tried were pretty awesome. I even started using features that I ignored before like RSS feeds, Internet Radio and Skype just because I carry it with me. I think that's made all the difference, the PSP was too big and to an extent, so is the DS.

I never really understood why people crap on a $250 system but will pay $199 for a 8 GB iPod Touch or $299 for a 32 GB iPod Touch. PSP Go has 16 GB of memory which puts it inline for pricing. Yes the games cost more but you know deep in your heart that while 99 cent games are really fun (I have tens), they can't compare to quality PSP Games and having a control pad is a huge gaming plus. At least, it's what I look for. So to each his own. I have my Go and like it.

well, i went ahead and ordered a black psp go today. $170 in amazon gift card credit got me a unit listed as "used" under warehouse deals, but noted as "manufacturer shrink-wrapped" in the comments. should be essentially new. planning to add a $40 16gb m2

I consider a new psp go w/ 32gb storage for $210 total to be pretty good

Not that it's not been pointed out at all... but I'm surprised that the ongoing cost of owning a pspgo is not discussed more. While the $250 price tag seems a bit steep, the bigger problem is the ongoing cost of buying games at a (high) set MSRP. As CAGs, I would think that few of us would be interested in a system that forces us into paying full price for games.

Most of the older titles that are cheaper are still not as cheap as they can be had for the UMD versions on Amazon.com. You can literally pick up tons of games for under 10 bucks when you buy from 3rd party sellers. And even directly from Amazon, they have several 19.99 and 29.99 MSRP games for less than 15 bucks for the UMD. I know the convenience of downloading is worth paying a premium for some people - but being forced to buy all of your games for MSRP is lame. That's why I am in no hurry for the future of digital downloads to come - everybody says that's the way things are going - and if that's true, I think we all lose.

i got an "used - like new" PSP Go from amazon a week ago ($181.99), and I'm very happy with it, the system was mint, no scratches or anything bad. The system is really tiny (and beautiful), if you have big hands I wouldn't recommend it.

Also... sometimes digital is better than UMD, you can buy Disgaea for 14.99 on the psn store but if you want the UMD version (new) you have to pay 29.99 or more.

Too bad the psn store doesn't have Mega Man Powered Up, and they sell Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for 19.99 when amazon sells the UMD for 10 bucks...

:S

It is my honest opinion that Sony needs to adopt the Printer / Ink business plan for this gadget. Sell the hardware cheap and get their money back on the retail priced games, or sell it at its current price point and slash the prices of the games by half. You need to promote some type of incentive for people to leave their UMDs behind.

You'd think so but I get the feeling that Sony is feeling burned right now and needs to fill in their bottom line. The attach rates of software to hardware were so low in early PSP life that Sony was selling everyone PSPs and everyone was just going to download games. The latest platforms are secure but I think it left Sony with no choice. As a business, they need to recoup costs.
I wish it was $150 so youz guys would buy it and I wouldn't feel so lonely with my Go.....
They'd say they'd buy at $100 if it were $150.
As a business, they need to recoup costs.
While this may be true and I agree with you that Sony has thrown a lot of time and money at developing the PSP line(from PSP1000 to PSP Go) and getting burnt on the profit margin, attempting to recoup costs by throwing out yet another device with a predictable fail feature list is simply not the brightest idea.

If anything, Sony is attempting the Apple marketing strategy where revisions after revisions of essentially the same hardware with minor feature added. However, when I hear of this PSP Go's installment... I already knew its fate... And when I hear of its MSRP, I saw it sitting in the coffin before it was born. Regardless if its performance is indeed superior to its predecessor, given the feature/requirement list that you guys have been reiterating, consumers aren't going to give it much chance.

As far as this deal goes, I "might" consider it if it falls to $69.99 if it's not sold out at $99.99. It's worth mentioning that I've been a happy owner of the PSP1000 since March 25th, 2005. :)

Shouldn't this be moved to the already large Wal-Mart YMMV thread?

Anyways, It's still showing active in our system and It's no clearanced. It's probably clearanced out at several stores that were able to de-activate it, IE they were able to put it not as non-replinishable at their store due to sales. Which in turn makes it so they no longer get the item.

I've got one for X-mas & only played it a handful of times since I'm so busy with work. It's the black version ($250; mint condition), God of War ($20), Gran Turismo ($40), Sony soft case ($15) & Sony screen protector ($10; comes with 2). Selling for a firm $180 (add $20 shipping for continental U.S. only) for all of the above.

Also got this for X-mas: Madcatz SF4 Tournament Edition joystick (PS3) used only a handful of times. Selling for a firm $90 (add $25 for continental U.S. shipping due to large box size).

Not looking for a trade unless it's for a Wii console and/or a netbook (N450 chip & Win7). PM me if you're interested in 1 or both, thx!
