Quake wars Out today! WTF Are you waiting for!?!?!?

I picked up a copy of the collector's edition today (28th) at a local store. Been playing all night =)
 
Around here the stores absolutely, positively, never break street date. I'm stuck waiting until Tuesday. :cry:

They did for Quake Wars it seems, although a day or two ago they caught themselves, and now it ships on Tuesday.

yeah typically, now actually they ship things earlier to save themselves some shipping costs. My girlfriend ordered halo 3 and it shipped out a day before w/ 3 day shipping even though we paid for 2 day.
 
Well amazon shipped it out last week and I got it today... joyous to jump into the game...... unfortunetly I overlooked one important fact.....

Nobody is playing on a server where I get less than 300 ping.............

DOH!

oh well, at least I had an entertaining moment. There were a handful of people mixed in with bots. I joined one server from texas with one other guy on my team who was the only other human. Didn't respond at all while we're mowing down the bots on the remake of that wolfenstien Dday map. Suddenly he says "you guys should rethink your tactics moron"... apparently he thought he was playing against real people.... pretty lols moment for me there.....

Oh well can't wait till tomorrow when people start getting the game. At least this has given me a chance to check out some of the new maps and they're awesome so far. This is the game multiplayer i've been waiting for awhile.... I sure as hell hope it finds an audience so I can keep on playing for a long time :).. though it sadly seems people have drifted away from the quake franchises =(
 
I would recommend anyone that is interested in Quake Wars to download the DEMO first, to make sure your computer can handle the game, and if you really would enjoy it. It seems to me a LOT like Battlefield 2, but far less bugs and glitches. BF2 is more than a year old and their patches seem to make that game even worse. Worst purchase I ever made, and I liked BF 1942.
 
Waitng for the realease of the retail realease of the Orange Box.

In all honesty though, I was in the beta for Quake Wars from the start. My biggest complate was that I thought that the aiming needed to be tighter. Also I have found that many of the servers are not even located in America. It seems that this game will be big outside the US, but around here, I haven't seen much support. Even amoungst my PC gamer friends, we think why we are just going to pass on this one.
