Ok that looks sweet. Would not have expected them to go a Bourneish route of Bond being chased by their own government, but that was a pretty good trailer.

I was gonna say something like "It's Bond .. who cares" and then I remembered I love Bond now with Daniel Craig as the lead. Hopefully this will be at least as good as Casino Royale.

Ha, yeah, I had just sort of left this thread dall off since it wasn't getting much traffic.

If I have time, I'll add the newer trailer at some point. Hey, at least I finally updated the release date.

(stupid UK, with their stupid getting it TODAY. Two more weeks, bah.)

Went to see this last weekend, pure crap.
They went from the best bond (Casino Royale) to the worst bond film ever.

1) The intro song sucked and the sequence sucked
2) The Action scenes are shaky cam, zoomed in, and cut every second. They are incomprehensible and created for people w/ ADAHD or some crap.
3) The Plot is convoluted and anti-climatic. It really shows that they rushed this out to avoid the writers strike.

yeah, i agree that it wasn't as good. i still like daniel craig... but the plot was waay to friking convoluted and the movie was too short... they should have taken time out to flesh out the plot

This shit literally made me so sick when I watched Mummy 3 in the theaters, I had to leave 45 minutes in. It wasn't enough the movie was total shit, but that shit just made it completely intolerable. I won't be seeing this even though I loved Casino Royale, this has too many things going against it, especially this.

This was so bad. I don't know how they could do things so right in CR but so wrong in this one. I thought the ending of this one was great, but only if you watched CR the day before like I did.

Again, opinions on this are totally polarized, people either loved it or hated it. I find myself in the former category.

Admittedly, Marc Forster has zero idea what to do with an action sequence, but I thought it was an otherwise solid film. That, and seriously... people calling it the worst? Have these people SEEN Diamonds are Forever (Blofeld in drag!) or Die Another Day (the whole fucking thing)? I understand not liking QoS, but it's far from the worst entry in the series. Like I said, it's a solid film... even the plot was fairly okay, even though they really left some gaps that people needed to fill in themselves (best complaint I've heard? 'It's all about water in Bolivia, that's fucking stupid'. Yes, because there's no bigger picture there at all. Nope. Not at all.).

It worked as a sort of CR pt.2, and I have faith in them to turn out a fairly good next film, where we've finally moved past the Vesper stuff and just head into chasing down the organization.

Saw it tonight and really enjoyed it. Of course, I went in there not expecting much since so many people complained about the fight scenes "shaky cam" and so many people seemed generally displeased with the film overall. I don't think it was as good as Casino Royale and it certainly does not stand on it's own without Casino Royale. However, I still enjoyed the film. I also liked the intro song as I thought it was a nice blend of Jack White's guitar work with the Bond music intertwined. It was no "Live and Let Die" but it's certainly better than many other Bond songs.

That being said, I was initially against Daniel Craig as bond prior to Casino Royale. He didn't fit my image of Bond and I didn't want reboot of the franchise with a more serious tone. After seeing both films, I stand corrected. A more serious reboot is what the series needed and Daniel Craig is a stellar 007. I look forward to the next film.

crud. I hate shaky cam action scenes (they make me hurl) and was looking foward to seeing this.
I thought shaky action scenese would die out eventually and were just a fad, it seems they are only gaining in popularity and show just how crappy the action scene actually was if they had to use shaky cam to make it exciting.
