'Quentin Tarantino Presents: Hostel'

This movie was fucking horrible. The only good things were the comic relief (which oddly enough were also the "gory" parts), Jay Hernandez, and Miike cameo.

Otherwise, it sucked. Bad. People puked in the theater. From what? Probably because the movie sucked so bad. Save your money and go see a good movie.

Also, everyone in the theater thought QT made the movie...I'm so glad people are S-M-R-T.

I have never seen anyone puke in the movie theater before. I have seen 2 people have epilitic seizures in two different movies before but no puking.

(in case you are wondering, the two movies are "Bound" and "People vs. Larry Flynt")

At least 3 people puked in the theater; they brang in the dust stuff, barf bags, the whole sha-bang.

Honestly, I can not think of one scene that would induce vomiting in the movie. Maybe I'm just de-sensitized (sp?). Or maybe the horror was missing in this horror movie. Probably a little of both.

The one scene with the eye was pretty disgusting to me.

Yea, you're right. But, I should mention that all the puke-ees had done their damage before that scene. It was probably 30-40 minutes before that when the people started to hurl, and they all finished within 10 minutes. Maybe they were boozed up.

the movie is suposed to be a gorefest 3 people puking in the same theatre? sounds like classic horror movie to me for some intense scenes at very least.

I thought the movie was excellent. Well written, well acted, and overall very effective movie for what it was trying to be. Im not going to get into arguments on whose a better director la la la, I basically look at it like this, Opinions are like assholes and everyone has one. Usually they stink too. For the guys who dont like QT just relax. Just because you dont like a director why do we have to argue about who's better. I'm sure some of you guys who dont like QT probably like some dickhead i fucken loathe, big deal.
Heres its 4 bucks for the early showings and 8 bucks for evening and night showings.
WTF you at? That $4 price is reasonable.

No its just 4 bucks for the matine. I think they are crazy for doing that. I mean its cool but they could be making more money like 6 bucks fro matine. Every other showing is 8 bucks.

Ok i just got back from it and i thought it was good. Id give it an 8. Im not good at reviews so ill just leave it at that. Oh and Parent of the Year goes to the bitch who sat next to me. She brought her RETARDED son who was maybe in his late teens. That mom needs to have her son taken away from her. EVery once in a while he'd blurt out "BLOOD" and "iIM SCARED".

I'LL pay $4 and I would be seeing movies in a regular theater even. As it stands now I won't pay $6.50 for Matinee around here but I'll pay $4. You think they are crazy but perhaps those seats aren't being filled. Seriously Hollywood wonders why no one goes to the theaters nowadays, well look at ticket cost.

I saw it last night.

The first half was basically porn, but funny at the same time. The second half was fucking disturbing, but awesome at the same time. This is a must see movie.

thats almost as bad as the stupid idiot parents who took 2 crying infants to see Lord of the Rings: Return of the King at a midnight show.

Man, I hate that shit. Anytime I see stuff like that I think: "THAT's why I'm not having kids."

I saw Hostel the other day and I it wasnt what the commerical made it out to be. There was a couple of parts when you said, "ewww" but thats about it. I had to keep reminding myself that it was a horror movie because it was one boob away from being a porn.

Pretty disappointed in the "brutality" of the movie, nothing I haven't really seen before.

I was thinking about walking out during the first half, I didn't think it was just going to be a retarded teen comedy. But the 2nd half was pretty sweet. Nice to finally see a decent ending to a horror/suspence movie.
Man, I hate that shit. Anytime I see stuff like that I think: "THAT's why I'm not having kids."
And that response is exactly why YOU need to have kids, to counteract the dumb shit they put out there and keep propogating by having kids, those people rather.

how do you know those people wasnt paid to act that way. i still skip it and wait 3 months till it hits DVD... hasnt been a movie in years worth 6 bucks to see.

if is what someone said about it Still sounds like a rip off of

SAW and house of wax

Just saw the movie today (school had a bombthreat). First half felt like porn mixed with waiting for something to happend. Second half was shit.
This movie was fucking terrible. Gimme a break... I just got done seeing it.

.. just a pointless movie. That's about the best I could describe it. It's basically just a worse version of Texas Chainsaw Massacare (minus hottie Jessica Alba): A group of people visit a town, where there's this mass murder/torturing going on, the whole town is in on it, they get taken to the mass murder/torturing place, then one character defeats his torturer, then has to escape with another character from the mass murder/torture place from the townsfolk who are chasing them, End of movie.

For you sicktards yeah it's pretty gross/disturbing but for some reason I recall Saw 2 being a more "disturbing" movie in the way the people die.
This is how I felt as well... the whole movie just seemed kind of pointless.

I really didn't give a shit about any character, the commercials made it seem about 5x more brutal then it actually was, and the movie leaves alot of plotlines wide open and just kind of ends (and not in a good way, either).

I ended up seeing it for free with my g/f, and I feel extremely fortunate for that. Hopefully there will be some kind of extended / unrated DVD, because I feel that the movie could have (and hopefully is) alot more intense then that.

Hostel is one of the few movies I feel will really benefit from an unrated version.

Totally agree. This movie blew ass. Let's take a look here *Spoilers*

3 guys go to Europe to get stoned

They party and meet a guy who tells them about some hot whore house.

They party, meet 2 hot chicks, next morning Guy A) is nowhere to be found.

Guy B) is smart by wanting to leave, Guy C) says "no, let's get laid"

Guy B) and C) are both drugged and guy B) is taken to the torture room where he gets drilled in the leg and back of his ankle slashed

Guy C) for maybe 40 minutes runs around trying to find them, he then finds the girls, they tell him its at an art show.

Guy C) is taken, escapes his torturer, runs, grabs a asian chick who has her eyeball cut off.

Guy C) and Asian girl then proceed to run over the chicks and the guy who mentioned the whore house.

Blah blah blah, weird kids kick the crap out of the people chasing Guy C) and Asian

They then make it to the train station, Asian girl looks in mirror, jumps in front of train.

Guy C) is on train with the guy who was the Leader of the sadistic cult and meets him in a bathroom, cuts off his fingers for revenge, then kills him

Their ya go, the scenes of gore you see more in the trailer. Avoid at all costs.
I got excited after I heard his name in the trailer, so I decided to hop online to find out more about this movie, which so reminded me of 'Saw.' To my surprise, I couldn't find much about Quentin and 'Hostel' relating to each other.

I guess I should read the fine print next time. But my question is, is what does Mr. Tarantino have to do with this film, if he didn't write or direct it? Did he 'guest-direct' a portion, similar to Sin City?
I seen the movie yesterday on dvd.
To conclude, it is a cheap bmovie and a bad one ontop of that.
You may like it, if you a fan of weird stories and love gore.
But for everybody else its just crap.
One thing, the movie achived. I got nightmares. I wonder why they don't show tits in movies, but a gory one like that. I guess the more violent a movie is, the better.

i didnt see TONS of gore in this movie . really there wasnt that much gore at all in this movie

i would give the movie based on plot a 4 ---- nothing more then a cheap x rated movie

i would give the movie a 2 based on gore factor

tarentino didn't write it or anything, but he re-vamped it. He took the writted script and w/e, and added things, and re done some of it, to make it a better movie, and more like something he would have originally wrote. It was a good movie, but you can tell its not one of his own movies.

I am not sure, if we both seen the same movie. But the one i've seen is gory par exelance.
Unless you don't consider it gore, if somebody gets a drill in his body, chainsawing his fingers away etc...
Maybe, you just seen to many movies like that.
One thing i could tell you is, that this movie reminds me on movies made in the 70s.

guess i seen too many movies where someones fingers are always being hacked off : )

drill in the body i wouldnt call gory... even when that asian eye was hanging out i wouldnt call that very gory. seen the same amount of blood in the movie zombie when they put that womens eye out with the piece of wood.

maybe i just seen too many of these type of movies

i guess so, this movie almost made me cut it off, and i thought i was desensitized to shit. name a more disturbing movie, because i haven't seen it. what i did like about this movie was that it was really tense, and i liked a few of the actors, the black haired protagonist and the guy who tortured the asian especially (lol not because he was torturing an asian but because he was pretty funny in the previous scene). but seriously, what a fucked up movie. sure there weren't *many* gore scenes, but the ones that were there were awful. i suppose they did achieve awareness, or contemplation, because i'm still thinking about the movie and i watched it five hours ago. just fuking omg, my dad thought 8 MM was sick, wonder what he'd say if he saw this one.
name a more disturbing movie, because i haven't seen it.
audition.

EDIT: i've also never been able to make it through a full screening of tetsuo (the iron man). that movie is just freakin weird...
